Hello everyone, we appreciate all the support here and understand how being able to import and export bank rules would help with clean up, and save time in updating or adding bank rules.
The idea has been closely considered, however we want to be transparent that building this specific feature is not on our roadmap.
Our current focus within bank reconciliation is on delivering more automation and intelligent tools to help you reconcile faster. This includes improving the core functionality of how Xero suggests and matches transactions, ultimately aiming to reduce the need for manual rule creation and management.
We're confident that these broader improvements will help streamline your workflow and address some of the underlying pain points you've raised. Hi everyone, we've been tracking this idea for some years now and truly value all the feedback we've heard on the desire and time saving reducing the manual steps in reconciliation
would achieve. We completely get wanting to skip that extra ‘OK’ click when you trust the suggested matches.
We’re excited to share that this idea is now in development. At Xerocon this year we shared automated bank reconciliation - Using JAX to automatically match and categorise your bank transactions with your Xero transactions.😊
It's in beta already and being tested by a small group of users atm, and as soon as we have more to share on this rolling out wider I'll give you another update here. Thanks again for helping us shape the future of Xero!

How is this feature not in Xero already? Having a standard set of bank rules to be able to import into a client would save an incredible amount of time. Please do your accountant users a favor and implement this ASAP!
