Hi Community! 👋 we're progressing well with our inventory permissions development, with plans to progressively roll this out early in the new year. We'll be providing a Products & services permissions set for the Invoice only role.
You'll have the ability to choose;
- No access
- View
- View and create/edit
- View, create/edit and adjust stock

Has anyone found a software that has this feature? Please advise what other options are out there as my client is so frustrated with Xero and I would love to know what else to suggest to him as he needs to move asap, this function is a deal breaker.

So the Xero support case that I logged responded and said that the user can add inventory items - however I have gone through his Xero profile and nowhere is there any option for him to add a new item. He can type a description for something and invoice it out, but then it is not tracked and completely circumvents the stock system and hence stock variances will occur.
Xero - please can you urgently look into giving permissions to invoice roles to add and edit stock items. Judging from the comments below, this is a crucial feature.Tamzin Smith

While only on an invoice by invoice basis atm there is a slightly simpler option that the team released that will help create a packing slip for invoices.
Would be good to get a sense of the interest for a bulk option and creating for multiple invoices at once.

A delivery note is a common document used in good business practice throughout the world. It is a VITAL document in an inventory and invoicing system and I am struggling to understand why Xero can't add a delivery note option on top of the 2 print pdf options already available (invoice and packing slip).

Can the users who have commented below please share the alternative software that you have been recommending? It would be much appreciated, as Xero is not taking this issue seriously
