Hi community, we really appreciate your feedback on this and hearing why you'd like to be able to change the organisation's name that's shown when sending invoices from Xero.
This is on our teams radar, and is something they may look into longer term however we want to be open that it's not in the current roadmap.
We'll continue to track and keep across the interest from our community, and if there's any news to share we'll update you on this, here.

As we buy in materials for clients we need to be able to quickly see by reference who we have sold the product to so we can allocate it to each job. NO POINT HAVING A REFERENCE QUOTED TO SUPPLIER WHEN IT DOSENT COME THROUGH FOR YOU TO ACTION ON INVOICE

We are having a similar problem with the email template, and associated legal name and trading name. In fact, it's confusing customers to the extent that some don't recognise the organisation and they are not paying. We MUST be able to turn on/off the legal name. In my instance, I want to turn the legal name off (not show it).
We are a company, with two brands in Xero. It has always worked to use one email template and customised invoice for one brand, and then same for the other brand. However, now Xero has made a change, whereby the Legal name goes to both brands. All this does is create confusion for our clients. This is NOT satisfactory. I should have a choice of "trading names", and be able to select which trading name I use for the brand I am emailing from. Please fix this Xero tech people!
