Thanks for sharing your thoughts and adding your vote to this idea! We totally get how important it is to keep your customer contact info accurate and up to date. An automatic update feature through invoicing sounds like a great way to save you some valuable time.
Right now, if you send an invoice to an email that’s not already linked to a contact, you’ll need to add that email manually in Xero. The current setup is designed to be flexible so you can send invoices to multiple emails without changing the contact record. But we can definitely see how this feature would speed things up for you.
This idea is now in the “Gaining Support” phase, which means it’s open for votes and comments. We’re keeping an eye on how much interest it gets from the community. Your vote really helps us understand how much this feature matters to…

Thanks for the confirmation, Andrew and Sue. While it's possible to add the organisations email in the Contact details field of a Standard branding theme, and could be inserted as Static text on an Advanced template, appreciate there is no specific field for this atm, and why you may like to make this mandatory or a default on the template.
We'll leave your idea for making this mandatory here and you may like to also join this idea for providing as a specific field for this in advanced templates. Being open it's not something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll keep an eye on the interest here and share if there's any plans made.

Thanks for sharing your interest in being able to send invoices via WhatsApp from Xero.
While this isn't a direct feature available in Xero right now, an option right now for invoices is to use the Xero Accounting app where you can retrieve the link for the invoice to share this via another app on your device, like WhatsApp - we have help on this for iOS and Android in Xero Central.
We're continuing to get a sense of the support for this feature through this idea but want to be open this isn't something we have plans for at this time.

I just finished with support, as some of our invoices weren't sent because they didn't have a contact set up, even though the email address was on the client profile.
I don't understand why there isn't an automatic contact set up if there is not a different contact already. Or why doesn't it by default, send the invoice to the client's email address listed in the client profile, and it only goes to a contact if the contact is selected (in the case where someone else should be billed for the client).
It is double handling to create a client and then create the same person again as a contact.
