It's delusional to expect Xero to actually READ and ACT on this suggestion - the original creation date (Sept 2015) provides the evidence. Subscription price increases and feature restrictions are far more important...

Requests/complaints for this functionality have been around for literally a DECADE.
Seriously? LISTEN to what your customers are saying and FIX THIS!

Clearly NOBODY at Xero LISTENS to these suggestions...
Your support staff (Tia - Case: CX0015740520 6 Nov 2024) suggested that posting something here was the best (only?) way of getting something implemented.
Still nothing - 4 months later.
I guess that the $85 I pay / month isn't enough to get your attention...
Please LISTEN and FIX!

I had a call from Xero "customer care" in NZL today (5 Dec 25), following up from some separate feedback I gave them - which included this request.
"We hear you", "We're listening" were 2 of the phrases I was told repeatedly, and "we're taking this to higher teams"...
My response: Actions speak louder than words.
I'll believe Xero when I SEE suggestions like this implemented, until then, it's all spin and marketing garbage.
Come on Xero, pull your finger(s) out - and do what your customers ask.
(Oh and while you're at it, provide some discounts/rewards for subscribers - not just short term sign-up inducements. Your fees are money printing presses).
