    Thanks for sharing this feedback. We agree that email notifications for upcoming VAT return deadlines would be useful, and we do plan to address this in the future. However, we’re unable to provide a timeframe for when this will be available at this stage.

    In the meantime, the VAT homepage widget shows your next return due date, along with a countdown showing the number of days remaining until the deadline.

    If you’re a Partner, you can also use Tax manager to view a list of your clients’ upcoming VAT obligations in one place, including their due dates.

    We nearly missed one because HMRC don’t send one and neither does our accountant.

    Our accountant does our bank rec and prepares the VAT submission, but we do the submission ourselves, and have to make a point of logging in daily once a quarter to check whether the VAT is ready for submission, which is significantly time wasting.

    This ought to be a minmum given the high price we pay xero compared with Quick Books.
