Notification | Email reminder for VAT submission deadline

Given that the HMRC reminders are non-customisable, sporadic and could be taken away at any time, could we please develop email reminders for VAT submission deadlines in Xero?

    Please can I/we have a notification send to my mobile when the VAT return is due with a countdown to final submission day? Can this reminder pop up everyweek there after until the return has been submitted. If this is not possible can you provide a reasonable explanation as to why it is not? many thanks

    Even if it was a warning on the due date when you log onto the software.

    I shouldn’t have to log in daily once a quarter to check whether the VAT is ready for submission, it is a waste of my time.

    Our accountant does our bank rec and prepares the VAT submission, but we do the submission ourselves, and have to make a point of logging in daily once a quarter to check whether the VAT is ready for submission, which is significantly time wasting.

    This ought to be a minmum given the high price we pay xero compared with Quick Books.

    This is critical for us with multiple VAT returns across 25 companies with varying periods; please can you add this function to prevent delayed, missed returns and possible fines?

    I have come across various scenarios where the return period was changed without customer notification and by the time it was picked up, it was already too late. It would be very useful to have this function in Xero.

    This is such a basic requirement i am amazed that it is not a standard feature.
    We need to be able to set up VAT Submission prompts so we know that it is due as we don't get prompts from HMRC but we do get their fines if we missed the deadline bu 1 day!

    There is nothing that shows you on the Client HQ dashboard if there are any problems. I had a client with a late payment, I only knew because I had gone into his account to check something else. Had I not done that I wouldn't have been able to sort it out. Something on the HQ dashboard should tell us.
