    Hi everyone, appreciate wanting more of an update from us here. To share on our progress - Multiple addresses has been enabled in the back end of contacts. As mentioned in our previous update this is a complex piece of work, as we need to now build this into other areas of Xero where it'll add value.

    For this reason the work within Contacts is not live yet, as without building this feature across these other areas it wouldn't have much practical use. But to confirm, work's moving along and we look forward to being able to share more.

  2. Ability to export and import Notes that are shown in the contact details section as a column in the exported file.

    This would allow bulk update and review of notes that have been added across Contacts.

  3. This is really for Xero Blue not practice manager, but you do not have a category for this,

    Automated client statements - have the option to send out our practice statements on a regular basis i.e. weekly or fortnightly regardless of the days due or overdue!

  4. Ability to view notes added within the contact details section from the list view.

    This would help with viewing contact notes across different contacts, for detail such as method of payment or terms of service.

When adding a new contact if you use account numbers (which is important to use as a primary key for records) it would be really good if a autogenerated number was assigned as a default (like it does with an invoice number etc.). Currently you have to remember/check what the last account number you've used was.

  7. There is an issue with the new contact edit settings, we cannot add IBAN in account number and swift in routing numberFinancial details. Since we have vendors globally, not everyone have US routing and acct number only. This needs to be fixed since we are relying on the bank details updated in contact

    Thanks everyone, we thoroughly appreciate your feedback on changes when adding or editing a contact. 


    Since the initial release, our team have made an update and you'll find you can now enter IBAN and SWIFT into account number without it throwing errors. 


    Currently, if you save information into the account number field it'll spread across the bank account prefix and bank account number fields - The thing to note is that this will not impact processing of batch payments and will be one field when exported for batch payments.


    We understand it’s not the perfect solution and are looking at further enhancing this - I'll keep you updated here. 

  8. To be add the job title of a primary person and additional person in a contact details.
    Xero is not a CRM but to manage the invoicing and bills relationship with contact, it could be great to know the position of the person on the other side.
    It could be a great add-on as to know to whom we are addressing our email in the contact company.

  9. It would save us so much time if there was an option to turn off debtor statements per contact just like we have the option to turn off invoice reminders. That way when sending statements we can bulk send without having to send them one at a time.

    Interesting idea - we'll continue tracking interest here. 🙂 In the meantime I did want to highlight how you can send multiple statements at once and may help some here. 


    While it's not possible to set a default for each contact, you can currently send statements to multiple users at once - 

    From your Contact lists either select all, or just the contacts you'd like, select the 3 menu dots in the top right of the page where you'll see an option to 'Send statements'.

    • When clicked this will take you to the statements screen where you can further refine the lists of contacts you'd like to send a statement too

So we have set up and had a lot of success with email templates in Xero. it would be useful to have the ability to have a default option for each contact (or group of contacts) a specific template for a specific reason eg new invoice or AR. so that everytime we go to email an invoice for example it preloads on a certain template.

    Eg we have a number of clients that only speak read German and/or french so it would be nice to be able to set these contacts to default to use our German and/or French templates…

  12. When looking at a customer's account in Contacts, there should be a spot in the invoices due that shows clearly if there is an unallocated overpayment, prepayment or Credit at a glance.

    There also needs to be a better report just for unallocated Prepayments, Credits and Overpayments.

    I find the Receivable Invoice Summary isn't wait I'm looking for as it doesn't fulfil the job required.

  13. We are seeing more emails that are sent from within Xero being flagged as Spam or put in Quarantine, especially if the recipient is using Outlook 365.

    Xero need to implement DKIM to reduce the number of false positives like this. It's very easy to implement and the benefits to Xero users would be enormous.

  14. It would be great if, when viewing a contact, there was a quick 'sign/flag' to show if that contact has an active Direct Debit form.

    Currently you have to go to >Settings >Payment Service >GoCardless >edit >Direct Debit Forms

  15. Sort 'customer or supplier' list by account number from the drop down menu, (not the same as the search function).
    The account number field is a unique identifier to any customer or supplier record. Having this function should be a necessity as it is with most other software.
    In many cases the account number field is overlooked in Xero from the users point of view, yet it underpins the whole database for many people and connecting software/apps.

    Hi Gayo, interested to better understand how this would help your business? 

    Perhaps the Invoice reports in Xero are a better use for this? 

    Generally you can drill into the transaction from the report directly. 

    Is there a reason why you'd like this on the customer statement specifically? 

  17. The ability to search for customers by postcode. It's painful having to search for customers by business names when there can be variations in spelling, grammar etc, the customer's name as there may be multiple people ordering. The search function for customers is woefully underpowered compared to other software such as Quickbooks, where you can search by almost any customer details.

  18. Could the 'overview' page of the contact show all the contacts/persons associated with a Contact Account, not just the 'first' one?
    We have 2 or 3 contacts/persons on most of our accounts, it would be nice to be able to see their names/emails on the company overview page, rather than having to click into 'Edit' to find these details.

  19. Update new Invoicing to allow sending invoices to contact groups as you can in the classic invoicing. It's ridiculous that something so useful has been left behind in the switch to the new style. I need to be able to amend the invoices I send out based on the individual needs of the group. It saves so much time to be able to create a default set of drafts that I can amend rather than having to go to each individual and create an individual invoice within that group. Please guys, piull this across!

  20. There is a difference between the functionality of new quote page and the old one.

    On the old quote page, when a new contact was entered and the quote was saved, you could then click directly on the contact field which was linked to the contact page. This allowed you to quickly add additional info (email address, phone number, etc). This made emailing the quote quick and easy.

    On the new form, after you save the quote the contact name remains in edit mode.... so you cannot click on it to get to the contact page. There is no link…
