  1. The edit contact format has recently been changed and I now have to click through multiple tabs to edit and view contact info. This is much more time consuming. I would like to be able to edit and view all contact info on one page.

    Thank you for all your feedback and impressions of the new contacts add/edit screen.  
    We can ensure you that the team's designs and flows were thoroughly tested with customers prior to release and there were strategic reasons for why things were designed the way they were. Still, sometimes things are picked up through the release of change to a full page like this, and it's been really good to get feedback from our community to help highlight areas of attention and opportunity.
    The team have made changes that will have resolved some points raised in feedback here and we’ve noted these below;

    • ABN field now sits above the ACN field within Contact details
    • Change to the requirements for entry of bank details so you can input data the way you’d prefer (this should have also resolved issues with processing of batch payments)

    Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting an update on multiple addresses.  

    As many will know here this idea requires a complex solution. We have 12 different products within Xero that rely on contact data as well as many of our app partners. This means that contacts need to seamlessly flow across technology, products and all connections on Xero.


    To build multiple addresses, we need to upgrade the technology across all these areas at Xero to make it feasible. However, as you’ll have experienced in some areas already, it's good that the work is well-underway now.

    Recent change to Contacts reaches a milestone on our work beneath the surface to upgrade and prepare these products for new features. You’ll see more upgrades happening across Xero that’ll continue to help enable this work.

    Hi everyone, over the recent months you’ll have experienced some of the change coming in Contacts with the new Contacts list view that was released in 2021


    We’re still working heavily in this space and the team have been continuing to iterate on the List View page and developing the Create/Edit view for a contact. 


    While foundational work is the primary focus for the team at present, new functionality like notes as you’re asking here aren’t in scope yet.  

    Keep sharing interest and feedback, so we can continue to consider as opportunity arises.

  4. This is really for Xero Blue not practice manager, but you do not have a category for this,

    Automated client statements - have the option to send out our practice statements on a regular basis i.e. weekly or fortnightly regardless of the days due or overdue!

  5. There is an issue with the new contact edit settings, we cannot add IBAN in account number and swift in routing numberFinancial details. Since we have vendors globally, not everyone have US routing and acct number only. This needs to be fixed since we are relying on the bank details updated in contact

    Thanks everyone, we thoroughly appreciate your feedback on changes when adding or editing a contact. 


    Since the initial release, our team have made an update and you'll find you can now enter IBAN and SWIFT into account number without it throwing errors. 


    Currently, if you save information into the account number field it'll spread across the bank account prefix and bank account number fields - The thing to note is that this will not impact processing of batch payments and will be one field when exported for batch payments.


    We understand it’s not the perfect solution and are looking at further enhancing this - I'll keep you updated here. 

  6. Contacts - Being able to search by mobile number, when we have a missed call or a text message on the phone, being able to search it is before blindly calling them back if they haven't left a message.

    It’s great to see how much customers value Xero search. In order for us to keep improving and enhancing how and what can be searched across the product - like other parts of Xero, there is backend work that our teams need to complete first.  


    Being upfront, adding items to search is not in the teams roadmap at present although we’re keen to stay close to where our customers feel Xero Search can be most beneficial to you, here.

  7. It would save us so much time if there was an option to turn off debtor statements per contact just like we have the option to turn off invoice reminders. That way when sending statements we can bulk send without having to send them one at a time.

    Interesting idea - we'll continue tracking interest here. 🙂 In the meantime I did want to highlight how you can send multiple statements at once and may help some here. 


    While it's not possible to set a default for each contact, you can currently send statements to multiple users at once - 

    From your Contact lists either select all, or just the contacts you'd like, select the 3 menu dots in the top right of the page where you'll see an option to 'Send statements'.

    • When clicked this will take you to the statements screen where you can further refine the lists of contacts you'd like to send a statement too
  8. When adding a new contact if you use account numbers (which is important to use as a primary key for records) it would be really good if a autogenerated number was assigned as a default (like it does with an invoice number etc.). Currently you have to remember/check what the last account number you've used was.

  9. To be add the job title of a primary person and additional person in a contact details.
    Xero is not a CRM but to manage the invoicing and bills relationship with contact, it could be great to know the position of the person on the other side.
    It could be a great add-on as to know to whom we are addressing our email in the contact company.

    Hi Gayo, interested to better understand how this would help your business? 

    Perhaps the Invoice reports in Xero are a better use for this? 

    Generally you can drill into the transaction from the report directly. 

    Is there a reason why you'd like this on the customer statement specifically? 

  11. Currently, if you change the address of a contact, old invoices and bills will show the new address and not the old address.

    It would it be good if the old documents can keep the old address. It is because having the old address is a piece of evidence to show where the goods have been delivered to. It is important to show that to the tax authority and auditors where the goods are delivered to determine the GST/VAT type, etc.

  12. There is a difference between the functionality of new quote page and the old one.

    On the old quote page, when a new contact was entered and the quote was saved, you could then click directly on the contact field which was linked to the contact page. This allowed you to quickly add additional info (email address, phone number, etc). This made emailing the quote quick and easy.

    On the new form, after you save the quote the contact name remains in edit mode.... so you cannot click on it to get to the contact page. There is no link…

  13. The ability to search for customers by postcode. It's painful having to search for customers by business names when there can be variations in spelling, grammar etc, the customer's name as there may be multiple people ordering. The search function for customers is woefully underpowered compared to other software such as Quickbooks, where you can search by almost any customer details.

So we have set up and had a lot of success with email templates in Xero. it would be useful to have the ability to have a default option for each contact (or group of contacts) a specific template for a specific reason eg new invoice or AR. so that everytime we go to email an invoice for example it preloads on a certain template.

    Eg we have a number of clients that only speak read German and/or french so it would be nice to be able to set these contacts to default to use our German and/or French templates…

  16. Very simple fix. Add 'Group' as a column header on CSV export download of contacts. When I download all the contacts, ive no way of knowing which group they are in, or if they are not in a group.

It would be great to have the ability to copy a contact in order to create a new one We often have the same agent representing various clients, and creating a new contact for each one is cumbersome. The option to copy an existing contact (making changes to the name or account number but keeping the address, bank details etc) would be extremely useful.
