Customer Statements - Option to remove links to invoices
Have the option to remove links to invoices on Customer Statements

Xero - if only you'd put the effort for this feature, that so many of us don't want, into automatic statement sending, that so many of us do.

We use another system for invoice creation and often this does not include line items as this may contain some sensitive pricing information. The statement links back to the invoice in Xero show all line items as well as being formatted differently to our original invoice. The invoice in Xero does not contain any of the original description text from our other system so this is very confusing for our customers.

This is critical for some of our clients - again we generate invoices from other software and the full details are not transferred into Xero. This is causing a lot of confusion with our customers. I've seen the suggested workaround but this is very time consuming and therefore, not an option

Yes please, it needs to be an option. Our statements from the software we send invoices from are completely different from what Xero produces. We need to be able to turn the links off!!

Sarah Peterson commented
Like others we use different software to raise our invoices, so need the option to turn this off as the invoice the link goes to means nothing to our client (except for the bottom dollar owing)

Very important to have an easy way to opt out of the hyperlinked invoice on the statement, we invoice though different software like many other customers here, it is creating a lot of work to send statements now.

Like at lot of the other comments, we use different software to raise out invoices, and what transfers to Xero is not what we want our clients to see.
We are really disappointed that this has been forced onto us without the option to turn it off.

This is also critical in our business as we also use another software for invoicing. It seems there are quite a few organisations not happy with this and cannot understand why this wouldn't be offered as an option rather that forced onto every business.

I have since heard back from Xero support who claim that 'There are no plans to revert back to the previous format of Statements due to a very low rate of customers requesting the feature being disabled'.
I am extremely unhappy with this situation because the solutions that were offered are work-arounds that will add a disproportionately amount of double-handling and unnecessary extra work for clients who do not wish to have this feature.
I also don't understand why 'it can't be done' since it's a perfectly valid option with individual invoice reminders by simply not ticking the box to include those links.

As below comments, absolute insanity that they just spring this on us.

This option is cricitical to us as we use another software for invoicing, we dont supply customers with product numbers and with this new link customers are now ablel to see the product code for each item. This could have a crippling impact on our business.

Definitely would like the option to remove hyperlinks on our statements. Just causing chaos and confusion with our clients. PLEASE implement without further delay.

Our company uses different software to raise our sales invoices and the information that gets transferred to Xero is minimal because it's all in the other software. Clients get copy invoices from the other software. The XERO invoices are a reflection of our account codes which includes amounts that we get written up for fixed fee projects. This feature needs to be removed URGENTLY or we should be able to switch this off!

This is causing massive confusion to customers, they are requesting copies of invoices with the correct information on the invoice. Our invoices are imported from another system to xero. We need to be able to remove the link on the statements to stop this.

I agree, this needs to be removed. For our company we use a different system for invoicing and Xero for statements but this link is causing issues if the client wishes to us it. Please remove it urgently

I am having the same issue with a client that uses different software to raise their sales invoices and the information that gets transferred to Xero is minimal because it's all in the other software. Clients get copy invoices from the other software. This has created a HUGE amount of work for us and I'm getting it in the neck from the Client too!!! This feature needs to be removed or we should be able to switch this off!

YES!!!! I second that.
I only noticed it just now when I ran off my statements.
The invoices that the client gets through our workflow software are by far superior to what the client gets to see after they have been imported into Xero.
Our invoices contain a detailed description of the work done, breakdown of cost items etc.
When the client clicks the link to Xero, all they see is a job number, the quantity '1' and the entire amount that has been billed to them.
This is NOT something I want the clients to see.
The suggestion from Xero support to break the link by printing every individual statement to PDF and then break the link in a PDF editor is ... Honestly, I can't even get my head around that someone would make a suggestion that this is the only way to handle up to (or even above) a hundred statements a month. Who is going to pay me for this gigantic waste of time?

Please allow us to disable this new change! We invoice through a separate software and do not want the clients seeing the Xero version as it is not set up for them to view! Pretty unhappy that this change was made without being made aware as our clients have now seen invoices we don't want them seeing. This change has created a massive load of work for me now.

The link to invoices is very confusing to customers as we use another program to send our invoices. Please remove this feature as its currently creating extra work for us!
