FX rates used on Balance Sheet report
The 'old' balance sheet showed the fx rates as a note at the bottom - can we have the option to add this to the new balance sheet layout.
86 votesHey community, thanks for sharing this one!
Once we’ve completed the upcoming retirement of our old reports on 31st Jul, the team will shift focus to foreign currency disclosures. Understand that this feature was available in the older reports, and many in this community are keen to see it return! As soon as there’s more to share on that work, I’ll update everyone here.
In the meantime, as a workaround, you can manually calculate this (this information can be accessed from your organisations’ settings screen) and add it into a text block at the bottom of the report.

Batch Payments - Ability to 'split' when reconciling
Currently a client can upload a number of invoices and then create a batch payment for these invoices. When they make a payment for 1 of the invoices in the batch, you have to remove and redo the payment then match the separate invoice up, and then recreate the batch payment, excluding the amount which has now been paid. Would be easier if like with invoices, the batch payment could be split, saving the new to remove and then recreate the batch payment.

Bills: Option to unapprove
Bills: unapprove option
Have the option to unapprove a bill so it can revert back to draft/awaiting approval rather than having to void a bill and re-enter it.

Bills to pay - Consistent font size
New bills screen - bugs/design that need to be fixed:
- when filtering the currency column disappears
- the planned date font size is smaller than the due date font size meaning I can't zoom the screen
- the from column isn't wide enough so most suppliers' names are wrapping, meaning each transaction takes up 2 lines and results in fewer transactions on one screen and more scrolling, whereas there is wasted space between the planned date, paid and due date columns which could be made narrower50 votes -
Bank Reconciliation - Show more statement lines per page
Ability to show more statement lines during reconciliation in one page.
Purpose: To save users time from scrolling and changing the page.
872 votesHi everyone
We wanted to provide you an update on our progress for this idea as it’s very much something we want to make easier for you all. The feedback you’ve provided so far has been helpful. One of the big problems our Product team identified in this thread and in other customer research is how hard it is for customers to navigate their statement lines to gain a holistic view of the work they need to do and complete their work flows efficiently.
I’m pleased to share that they’re in the early stages of developing a solution that will help to improve this experience by combining a search tool with an increased number of statement lines being returned to the page.
The product team has a working concept and are looking to validate this with some customers before working out the final details. If you’re interested in participating, please…

Reporting | Page Break - Preview in Xero Reports (without exporting)
Currently, when preparing financial statements or other reports in Xero, you have to export the report to PDF to work out if you will need to insert page breaks to keep all related content on one page, or to ensure that a heading doesn't end up on one page and the information on the next. This can sometimes mean exporting a report multiple times if there are multiple page breaks required.
It would be helpful if in the drafting stage, Xero reports showed some sort of indicator (i.e. a dotted line), so that you could identify where a page would…
62 votesHi everyone, we can understand how exporting to PDF to identify page breaks isn't the most efficient process. Our product team have been looking into this idea and have a solution in mind, however they are cautious that introducing something new like a print preview that enables you to identify page breaks will add extra steps to other user’s workflows - Xero is used by many people around the world in lots of different ways. Therefore the team are doing some further research and user testing to inform whether or how they progress solving this problem. We'll pop back here with an update once we have a clearer direction.

Contacts - Add 'Days Overdue' to Contacts
Restore the ability to see the total number of days an invoice is overdue from the client contact page for credit control. It used to say 125 days overdue in red - that has gone so it is now not as easy to decide how firm to be when emailing a client to chase a late invoice. Those days overdue on an email heading get attention fast.

Bank Reconciliation - Reconcile against Statement
We would like the ability to reconcile transactions against a statement in addition to just reconciling from the bank feeds.
There have been so many issues with bank feeds, that often we find the statement balance does not match Xero. The issue with running the reconciliation report is that some banks will have some transactions from the closing date in the current statement and some of them on the next statement. The only way for us to break it out and match the balance is to export transactions to a spreadsheet and then change the date of those transactions in…
57 votesThanks for these use cases it definitely helps when sharing back the needs of the idea here with our teams internally. Being upfront there are no plans at present for developing the ability to auto import a copy of the bank statement when importing feeds, or means to separately reconcile against statements versus what's been imported to your b bank account in Xero.
We'll continue to review and let you know if there are any plans of change to share with everyone here.

Invoices/Bills - Feature to 'write off' as bad debt
At the moment, you need to raise a credit note to write off a bad debt, which then records the invoice as "paid" which is extremely irksome, and factually incorrect. There needs to be an actual "write off" option so that the debts don't show up constantly in your reports and you can claim a tax deduction for them, but they don't get recorded as paid.
523 votesHi community, we appreciate this idea has collected a fair amount of votes and commentary. This has all been feedback and taken seriously by our product teams.
Currently, there are ways to record a bad debt in Xero, depending on your tax registration status and how you want the transactions to be recorded in your reports - We have help for this on Xero Central you can draw into.
We don’t have any plans in the near term to expand functionality to develop a button to write off invoices or bills as 'bad debt'. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

Bank Reconciliation - Sort and Filter
Add Sort and Filter to the Main reconciliation screen.
531 votesHi everyone
To follow on from Kelly’s last update, the Product team have made a lot of headway in the 'building on beautiful' work which has prepared the platform to more easily build features solving customer problems, like the ones identified in this thread.
I’m pleased to share that we’re in the early stages of developing a solution that combines increasing the number of statement lines being returned to the page and a search and filter across all of your statement lines.
The product team has a working concept and are looking to validate this with some customers before working out the final details. If you’re interested in participating, please register your interest here. Given the popularity of this idea we expect spaces to fill up fast. Update: we have since closed the form as we have enough interest. We also want to make sure we test…

Profit & Loss Report - compare tracking categories
Thanks for adding the new "compare tracking categories" in the new Profit & Loss Report.
However, even with this additional development the new version of Profit & Loss Report requires you to manually add each tracking category one by one. Having the feature of "select all" reinstated as the old version did would be really helpful.
Having limited tracking categories to 200 isn’t helpful, previously Xero was able to search across an unlimited number of tracking categories, but only report on the active ones.
I’m sure there are many users that have more than 200 tracking categories (not always active…

Reports - Accounts display in GL account number order on reports
The ability to have accounts display in GL account number order on reports. It boggles the mind that this is not an option already!

Fixed Assets - Attach a file
Option to attach files to individual fixed assets
Purpose: Ease of reference, being able to attach files and documentation that related to an asset
570 votesHi everyone, thanks for joining and supporting this idea.
We understand there are a few different use cases for why you'd like to attach a file to an asset within the Fixed Assets register, as well as transactions themselves.
To be upfront our team's current focus, like many areas of Xero, is on upgrading Fixed Asset technology, as we build greater consistency between Xero experiences, making it easier to learn and navigate Xero. Some of these changes may seem minor, but are critical in terms of delivering new and exciting value later on.
That being said, our team is researching what comes next and this is a focus because it is the most supported idea for Fixed Assets right now.
As we continue forming the future of Fixed Assets in Xero, we'll share if there’s any updates.

Profit & Loss - Show dividends/distribution/Income tax after net profit
Standard layout, which is the one that clients generate and use to check their profits, shows dividends paid, Income tax expense or distributions. This makes the client very confused as these are not part of the operating expenses. Clients do not need to know how to edit or prepare a new layout to take these expenses out. Also, we as accountants can't customize P&L for each of our clients.
This needs to be address urgently.

Xero subscription invoice to be added automatically to xero for reconciliation
This should be automatically added to your account, rather than having to save to Xero manually each month
519 votesHey Community,
Just following on from our last update - this feature is now fully live in AU and NZ!
Once you’ve opted in, your next Xero subscription bill will appear in your ‘Bills to pay’ screen each billing cycle. You can follow the steps in our ‘Receive Xero subscription invoices via eInvoicing directly into Xero’ (or the AU Version here!) to get started.
Understand that there are votes from all over the globe on this idea! When there’s more to share on other regions, we’ll update you here.

Awaiting payment - Ability to overide maximum of 200 bills.
Awaiting payment - max 200 bills.
I have a supplier who I pay monthly and there are always over 200 bills. I want to make one batch payment for the whole amount, but currently I have to do it on two - the first 200 bills, and then the remaining. Please can this 200 limit be increased?17 votes -
Reporting - Full List of Reports inc. descriptions for each region.
Provide a FULL list of ALL reports!
There are SOOOO many reports out there that I am not aware of, as they are all hidden! Unless you know the exact name of the report they are useless to search. I have just spent a wasted few days between facebook and support trying to pull a report similar to Supplier Statement. I did a search and of course there is nothing called that. I eventually contacted support to find out how I could get a Supplier Statement and was told to use a "Supplier Bill Activity". I would never have guessed…

Reports - Adjust column width
Would be useful to be able to narrow column width, especially when decimals are removed and more months are required on 1 page. Similar to Excel, where we can change width and height of rows or columns.
38 votesHi team, to share your feedback with the right teams and individuals can you please explain the screens/pages in Xero you'd find this particularly useful?
