Contacts - Allow multiple addresses for a single contact record
Ability to create and save multiple addresses for a single contact record
Purpose: Allow customers to map customer & supplier details against a single contact record
526 votesHi everyone, appreciate wanting more of an update from us here. To share on our progress - Multiple addresses has been enabled in the back end of contacts. As mentioned in our previous update this is a complex piece of work, as we need to now build this into other areas of Xero where it'll add value.
For this reason the work within Contacts is not live yet, as without building this feature across these other areas it wouldn't have much practical use. But to confirm, work's moving along and we look forward to being able to share more.

Bank Reconciliation Report - Ability to run for multiple bank accounts at once
In the new format Bank Reconciliation report, can we please add a 'select' option for the bank account field, similar to the 'Account Transactions' report and how we can 'select' multiple CoA codes to look at at the same time?
I have a client that has 30+ bank accounts, and having to run the bank reconciliation report 30 times to check if they are reconciling/have errors is very painful.
108 votesAppreciate the amount of feedback and support from you all in this idea leading up to the retirement of Xero's older reports in July. It's been really good to hear and consider how we can best accommodate our customers needs.
Monitoring use and feedback, we're currently working on a change for the new Bank Reconciliation Summary that'll allow you to add individual Bank Reconciliation Summary reports for each of your bank accounts in a single pack. We'll share with you here, when we deliver this change!

General Ledger Exceptions report
General Ledger Exception Report
Getting new updates and new reports is fine but can you please keep this GL Exception report (old version) or else make arrangements to create the same report in the updated versions of General Ledger Reports.
This report is very useful and crucial for setting up work papers.
44 votesThanks for your feedback, Abhi. Good to hear you're making use of the new versions of reports.
Our team are in the midst of developing the new General Ledger Exceptions report atm, I'll keep you updated on the release for this through the idea here. 😁

Xero subscription invoice to be added automatically to xero for reconciliation
This should be automatically added to your account, rather than having to save to Xero manually each month
412 votesHi team, as noted (thanks Geoff) we're leveraging Xero's existing eInvoicing capabilities for this work which is the reason it'll only be an option within the regions that have the Peppol network available.
As this is adopted by more bodies across the world, in turn the availability of this feature would naturally broaden, too - Read more through our Blog
As of today, AU and NZ Xero accounts registered to receive eInvoices can join the Beta to have their subscription invoices sent via eInvoicing - check out this Xero Central article to find out how to opt in.

Reconciliation Report Pack - Automate process similar to older version
The Reconciliation Report pack is a critical part of our working papers and gives us multiple reports in one pack with one click. This report is being retired in July with no replacement in sight. Creating our own seems like a step backwards and from what I understand about creating report packs (which admittedly is not great), it will be difficult to add multiple bank account rec reports to a customised pack, not to mention that each business has a different number of bank accounts. This move makes no sense. Please do not remove the old one until we have…
7 votesThanks for your feedback and we appreciate the needs surrounding this idea. Based on this our reporting team have made an informed decision to develop a new Reconciliation report pack that'll replace the older version come 31 July 23.
Within the new Reconciliation report pack the team will provide the following new version of reports
- Trial Balance
- Aged Receivables Summary
- Aged Payables Summary
- Bank Reconciliation Summary
- Fixed Asset Reconciliation
- General Ledger Exceptions
- Journal Report
We're currently in the process of developing the new General Ledger Exceptions report, and once this pack is released will provide individual Bank Reconciliation Summaries for up to 20 bank accounts in your organisation.
We'll keep you update of progress through the idea here. 🙂

Contacts - Add IBAN in account number and Swift in Routing number
There is an issue with the new contact edit settings, we cannot add IBAN in account number and swift in routing numberFinancial details. Since we have vendors globally, not everyone have US routing and acct number only. This needs to be fixed since we are relying on the bank details updated in contact
41 votesThanks everyone, we thoroughly appreciate your feedback on changes when adding or editing a contact.
Since the initial release, our team have made an update and you'll find you can now enter IBAN and SWIFT into account number without it throwing errors.
Currently, if you save information into the account number field it'll spread across the bank account prefix and bank account number fields - The thing to note is that this will not impact processing of batch payments and will be one field when exported for batch payments.
We understand it’s not the perfect solution and are looking at further enhancing this - I'll keep you updated here.

Global Search - From Every Screen
Have the ability to use the search function, regardless of what you are currently looking at.
Right now, whenever you are in the Report section or the Fixed Assets section, you do not have the ability to search. You have to go to a different page, and then you're allowed to search.
65 votesGood to hear how useful you find Search in Xero. We appreciate wanting to see this across all areas of an org and this is something we'll continue to work towards in screens where it's not present today.
On top of change our Reporting teams are making in preparation of retiring old reports in July, they're developing the ability to access and use search from your reports screens, including individual (new) reports and the Reports centre.
In the coming weeks our team across the invoicing world are looking to release the same feature across the new invoicing experience. We'll keep you looped in of this update here, too.

Projects Reporting - Add invoice number and reference to project reports
I would like to check which invoices are not allocated to a project and check for each project, which invoices have been allocated.

Bills To Pay - Default to Awaiting Payment
Bills to Pay defaulting to "Awaiting Payment". When I am coding draft bills the system defaults to "Awaiting Payment" after I have approved the bill. PLEASE CHANGE THIS BACK to "All" or "Draft Bills". When I'm coding draft bills I don't want to see bills awaiting payment I want to see draft bills whether in the "All" list or "Draft" list.
6 votesThanks for sharing - we appreciate the feedback from you all.
As we roll out our new Bill list pages the team have made a recent improvement where you'll be able to set a default page.
I've included an image as a taster and if you don't have this just yet, it'll be coming over the next few months.
I'll round back to confirm when available to you all. 🙂

Reporting | Excel Export - Remove formatting
Please remove font size formatting and merged cells from excel exporting and open the exported spreadsheet at 100%.
6 votesHi community, appreciate interest and feedback around the new reports from you here.
We've been listening and are in the process of making some changes to reports when exported to excel. These will include;
- The report defaulting to 100% zoom (rather than 150%)
- Changing the size of title and currency fonts for ease of reading
- Making slight changes to the formatting of cells in rows to make this more consistent across the report
New reports have a few more merged fields compared with older versions of reports, and I want to be open that there are no plans for changing these atm, however you may want to add your support and follow this idea for any updates.
- If you prefer unformatted data, you can currently select all in the excel export and use the unmerge function (or ‘clear formatting’). If you have pre-existing formulas and macros, these'll need to…

Bank Reconciliation - Remove imported statement balance
Bank Reconciliation
Remove the Imported Statement Balance as at best it does not work at all and at worst it imports the wrong value, which is very upsetting for clients.
4 votesHi team, great to get your feedback and support through the idea here.
We appreciate the 'Imported statement balance' is not always the most useful for our customers when reviewing their bank accounts.
We've started some work around this field and enabling Xero customers to overwrite an imported statement balance. While in early stages at present we'll keep you updated on progress for this here.

Dashboard - Show Current/Actual VAT liability
Similar to other "snapshots" available on the Dashboard, for any VAT registered business it is important to know liabilities at the click of a button. Please can Xero support look into an "add-on" for VAT liability total shown on the dashboard
14 votesHey everyone, just a quick update on this one, as it was shifted to delivered in error.
Whilst we have refreshed the VAT dashboard widget with a new look, it does not display your current VAT liability - apologies for the confusion.
We’ll be opening this idea back up to votes and feedback from the community.
As the team have confirmed this is one they’re exploring, we’ll pop it in ‘working on it’ for now.

New reports - Ability to automatically include budget that linked to department without editing the layout
The change of reports from the old version to new new version reports. Could the same features be included. The old version of reports are user friendly and had features such as including budget to linked to the department.
However, the new version does not have this facility without the change in edit layout. Which is time consuming when Xero is all about reducing time producing reports. I would like these as standard reports so more time is spent on analysis of reports.4 votesThanks for your feedback and support here, everyone. We're continuing to make iterative changes to some of Xero's new reports in lead up to retirement of the old versions end of July.
Currently we're working on the ability to add and choose which budget you view when running the new Budget variance report.
We'll round back to share when this is live. 🙂

Projects | Profitability - Link to run filtered report
The buttons linking to detailed reports from the project profitability tab don't go to the place they claim. They just take you to a blank report view. Very useless and pretty annoying. The software is almost as buggy as Quickbooks. Anyway, here's a screencast showing what I mean: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5hplwiontob2vq4/uselessButtons.mov?dl=0
2 votesHi Sam, we've recently changed the link for the Project Financials in the profitability dashboard to one that runs the report and filters for the project that you are on.
The other report links won't do this yet, but as we work on the new reports, these will be added.
Thank you for your feedback and let us know if it works out for you!

Projects: Reporting - Bills assigned to a Project
Ability to to show periods of bills that haven't been matched to a Xero project.
Purpose: to confirm that all bills are being assigned to properly to Project.
296 votesHi community, a step further in our journey I can confirm that the ability to view bills not assigned to a project has been enabled for all NZ organisations.
From your Bills list screens, you'll get a new option from the 3 dot drop down menu where you can select 'Bills not assigned to projects'. This takes you to a page where you can select a date range to view all bills that do not have a project assigned. From here, you can open and edit the individual bills to assign projects. You can also access this page from within a project, clicking Add > Expense from bill.
I'll continue to keep you updated as this extends to other regions. Thanks -
Projects: Reporting - Show transaction detail amounts based on the transactions date
Ability to filter and view results in the Project Reports by date on the transaction, rather than the date it was entered in Xero
Purpose: Understand total costs assigned to a project/all projects at a certain point in time.
