  1. Please leave the history of an invoice EXACTLY as it was in the classic invoicing.

    The new invoicing doesn't show the invoice that it was copied from or copied to and this is very important as a trail.

    I really don't understand why so many important features from the classic invoicing has been omitted.

    Hi community, we've released our first update to history and notes of new invoicing, where you can now view more detail of changes such as where an issue or due date has been altered or the amount of your invoice is changed. There's more improvements for this space coming soon and I'll keep you up to date with these, here. 

  2. Can I also please say, how frustrating it is that you can not now attach a file to a contact from the file library. This is how we have always attached our end of month creditor statements, that are emails to us, we have always forwarded these directly the file library, re name as required and then attach to the contact from the file library when completing the checking process for each creditor. This now will mean that statements can not be forwarded directly from the creditor email but will have to now be saved into a PC desktop file…

    Hi everyone, when the Contact overview screen was modernised, the functionality to upload files from the Xero File library was not available, and that you’ve had to upload files directly from the computer. We appreciate and apologise that this has had a negative impact on your workflows for the interim.

    I’m pleased to share that the work is well underway to bring back the functionality to upload from the file library 📚

    With this update we’ll:

    • Bring the file library uploader option back on the Contact overview page Files tab
    • Display all files (including previously attached ones) allowing you to attach a file to multiple documents (e.g. Contact, Invoices…) when you're uploading
    • Enable adding multiple files from file library in one go

    Looking forward to returning here to let you know once this is delivered!

    Hi everyone, appreciate wanting more of an update from us here. To share on our progress - Multiple addresses has been enabled in the back end of contacts. As mentioned in our previous update this is a complex piece of work, as we need to now build this into other areas of Xero where it'll add value.

    For this reason the work within Contacts is not live yet, as without building this feature across these other areas it wouldn't have much practical use. But to confirm, work's moving along and we look forward to being able to share more.

    Hi everyone

    We wanted to provide you an update on our progress for this idea as it’s very much something we want to make easier for you all. The feedback you’ve provided so far has been helpful. One of the big problems our Product team identified in this thread and in other customer research is how hard it is for customers to navigate their statement lines to gain a holistic view of the work they need to do and complete their work flows efficiently.

    I’m pleased to share that they’re in the early stages of developing a solution that will help to improve this experience by combining a search tool with an increased number of statement lines being returned to the page.

  5. Payroll>Employees>Leave currently has leave balances in days and dollar values, this makes it difficult to determine what the amount should be either way.
    As the dollar amount may change due to pay rises or an average applied as per statutory legislation, it would be better if all fields were hours based values. This would make it consistent and easier as a consumer to use.
    As a user, I should not have to be trying to calculate what the values should be and if something doesn't appear to be right, I should not need to contact Xero to find out how…

    Hi everyone, we've added you to this idea that we split away from the original one you voted for (AU & UK Payroll - Show leave balances on payslip in days and hours) as we have an exciting update applicable to NZ Payroll only.

    Our product team has started some work around enabling Xero customers the ability to show Annual Leave in Weeks and FBAPS in Days👩‍💻. While in early stages at present we'll keep you updated on progress for this here!

  6. The new Bill view has lost the ability to highlight a certain bill when you tick the box next to it. In the old version if you ticked the box that bill would remain highlighted in grey so it was easy visually to know which bill you're currently working on. This has stopped since the new Bills view has come in. Any chance to can add it back? In the attached screen shot you can see a bill has been ticked but it remains white like all the others in the list.

  7. In Classic Invoicing, you could copy an invoice to all sorts of things: Invoice, Quote, Purchase Order, Bill. See first screenshot.
    In New Invoicing, you can only copy an invoice to another draft invoice. See second screenshot.
    Please can you replicate the 'Copy invoice to a quote' functionality in New Invoicing?

Our team are now in the process of developing the copy to feature within new invoicing to provide the ability to copy an invoice to a quote in this new experience.     To follow on from Kelly’s last update, the Product team have made a lot of headway in the 'building on beautiful' work which has prepared the platform to more easily build features solving customer problems, like the ones identified in this thread.

    I’m pleased to share that we’re in the early stages of developing a solution that combines increasing the number of statement lines being returned to the page and a search and filter across all of your statement lines.

    Hey Community,

    Just following on from our last update - this feature is now fully live in AU and NZ!

    Once you’ve opted in, your next Xero subscription bill will appear in your ‘Bills to pay’ screen each billing cycle. You can follow the steps in our ‘Receive Xero subscription invoices via eInvoicing directly into Xero’ (or the AU Version here!) to get started.

  12. Can the new invoicing template show address like the classic invoicing template does?
    Classic invoicing - Shows company address and the person it is addressed to (Attention:) when viewing the invoicing from our end
    New Invoice - Only shows the company name and to check if the address is correct and if the person it is addressed to is correct you have to click on Edit or download it as a pdf to verify it.

  14. With the new basis period changes coming into effect, some clients may want to change their year-end from 30.09 to 31.03. Currently changing the year-end in Xero will cause previous opening balances to change and most likely mean any working papers produced in Xero will no longer match the accounts.

    It would be a useful tool to have something whereby a previous accounting period end could be locked so a new year-end could be chosen without messing up the old year-end balances.

    Thanks for highlighting the upcoming UK basis period reforms, this is something our team have been working on improving. 

    For now, do not change your affected clients’ year end dates in Xero. We are making a few tweaks across Xero to better streamline changing your clients’ year ends.

    Soon, in Financial Settings, you’ll be able to easily add start and end dates to different periods. You’ll be able to have an interim year, and all historic data will be protected.

    Fixed assets will also draw on this information, to prevent any loss of historic information when your year end changes. Everything will automatically be calculated for you based on the period start and end dates you set in Financial Settings.

    The same story will apply in Reporting. All historic reports will be protected. And you’ll have accurate comparison periods even across varied financial years.

  15. Can the new invoicing template show the address like the old templates used? Now if you go into edit the addresses have disappeared and to check if it is correct you have to click on the contact and fix it in a new tab.
    Also the notes section has removed the time stamps and the email address the invoices get sent to. Can the new invoicing have the same notes and history function as the old one.

    Hey community, just a quick update to let you know the team are currently working on the ability to show the email address that an invoice was sent to, in the History & Notes! We'll pop back to confirm it's been delivered in the next few months 😊

    As Kelly mentioned in our last update, viewing the timestamp of history items on an invoice is a separate idea started across here.     Hi everyone, to share on our progress the product team had a really successful beta, learnt a lot and received some really useful feedback. Working patterns will be gradually released from now and over the coming months. As mentioned in our previous update you’ll be able to enter more information about an employee’s working patterns to support leave and earning rates calculations and save you time. You’ll be able to:

    • Create or select from working pattern templates
    • Add working patterns manually or using the template
    • Setup multiple weeks of a working pattern

  17. In the classic invoicing history, we can see the date and timestamp, this is not available in the new invoicing - see attached screenshots.

    We use this time stamp a lot for trouble shooting - like what time or XPM and what time was the invoice approved. This helps if there is an integration problem or double up, or payment query.

Our product team recently released an update so you can view more detail in history such as where an issue or due date has changed or total amounts of the invoice have changed and who these were made by. We have more improvements coming for history and notes in new invoicing and will share more as it's made available, here.

  18. There is an issue with the new contact edit settings, we cannot add IBAN in account number and swift in routing numberFinancial details. Since we have vendors globally, not everyone have US routing and acct number only. This needs to be fixed since we are relying on the bank details updated in contact

    Thanks everyone, we thoroughly appreciate your feedback on changes when adding or editing a contact. 


    Since the initial release, our team have made an update and you'll find you can now enter IBAN and SWIFT into account number without it throwing errors. 


    Currently, if you save information into the account number field it'll spread across the bank account prefix and bank account number fields - The thing to note is that this will not impact processing of batch payments and will be one field when exported for batch payments.


    We understand it’s not the perfect solution and are looking at further enhancing this - I'll keep you updated here. 

  19. On the dashboard, be able to reorder the accounts in the watchlist. At the moment they are shown by default in alphabetical order and can't be reordered.

With the currect feature History and note report we are able to see which invoice for example has been edited - change name of invoice - reconciled etc. However we would like to have a more detailed view, for example if an invoice is booked in USD and someone will change the currency in EUR we are not able to see this change , we can see only that the invoice is edited by X person but we are not able to see the change. How can we have this feature?
