New Invoicing - Type the date manually, without / delimiters
It would be really useful to have a way of typing the date without having to use a / in between the numbers, like you could on classic invoicing
e.g. 20012024 used to convert automatically to 20th January 2024 on classic invoicing
Thanks for your interest in this idea, everyone. We understand there are different ways our customers find useful when entering dates for invoices in Xero.
Based on feedback our team are looking at improvements to the date pickers in new invoicing. While I can't confirm exactly what these will entail atm, we'll shift the idea to working on it and I'll be back to confirm when we have more of the detail.

Kelly- What's the status of this? I use a period " . " to type dates and surely this is a simple fix??
Add the period to the accepted delimiters in the coding..bad enough that we are beta tester, but now our feedback is being ignored.

when entering dates, it is easier and less taxing (haha) to use a period -- . -- rather than a forward slash -- / --.
I could do this in classic, but not in "improved".
Bring back this functionality.
It saves stress on my right hand! -

This is also extremely important in my line of work even more so with the recent changes whereby it does not allow to type it in but to select the required date with a mouse (or pad). Very time consuming.

In any date field: Would it be possible to be able to enter a date without any separators and then Xero could pick up the numbers and enter them in a date format automatically? For example if I quickly enter 14062024, Xero will transform it into 14/06/2024. I see this feature in other accounting softwares and it really makes life easier!
