Pop-Ups, Banners, Advertising - oh my....

Seriously this is a whole lot of visual noise that we don't need. Its scattered though your program forcing me to address it and close it constantly.

We have to have a options to turn these things off - there are already so many extra clicks and movements with the deplorable "updates" and we are now forced to either deal with this visual noise and clutter or take longer still with extra clicks to dismiss these all because of what...

Hi everyone, it's easy to see why you’d want more flexibility on the dashboard. When you log in, you want the most important info right there—without having to scroll past everything else.

For now, Edit dashboard lets you reorder widgets and hide the ones you don’t use often.

However, we understand that greater layout flexibility could take dashboard customisation to another level, making it feel genuinely personalised to how you prefer to work.

We’ve moved this to Gaining Support to see how many others are looking for more control over dashboard layout.

Hi team, we thoroughly appreciate all the feedback we’ve received from customers about the new homepage experience. We hear you and are committed to providing more customisation options, which’ll help with some of the pain points raised in this idea.

Currently we’re exploring the ability to resize widgets and simplify widgets and allow you to remove charts, and as you'll see from my recent update on another idea we have plans for exploring 'views' in the coming months.

It’s worth noting that currently you can "Customise" the homepage to remove widgets that you don’t want to see and simplify your view.

We’d also like to acknowledge feedback here on the red colouring - To provide some insight this was intentional, and is used to highlight what needs attention, which actually came from our early feedback and testing. However, we appreciate hearing from more users on this and will continue to…

I like that this is scalable but the thing is that 4 columns wide is too much for me and this isn't supportive for my workflow. In addition to that I cant move the features where I want them, it automatically moves them along so I cant get them in the order I need, its worse than trying to sort and move apps on a phone, but more infuriating....

Whats worse, I cant make this work for me and to add to it you will force this on to us like new invoicing.

Hi everyone, we appreciate the attention this idea has been getting. It's really good to hear how we can continue to improve the Homepage for our differing customers needs. We understand not all the widgets maybe useful to every user, and the 'Customise' button will let you add or remove widgets to reduce what you see on the Homepage.

Taking on board feedback we're looking at the sizing of widgets and you'll find the 'Chart of Accounts' and 'Cash in and out' widgets are now smaller by default with an option to 'Make larger' - You can follow further updates for this on the idea here.

We have plans to dig deeper into possible 'view' options (like the different levels of views being asked here) in the new year and I'll share further updates here when this gets picked up. 🙂

Thanks for your feedback on the new homepage here. We appreciate what works well and not so well for our customers with the new experience. Our product team have been taking this all onboard as they continue to plan their roadmaps. Since initially released in beta, they've made some changes to the 'Cash in and out' and 'Chart of accounts' widgets so when customising your view you'll now have the options to 'Make larger' or 'Make smaller'.

Right now, they're also considering sizing of other widgets and your contributions in this idea are super useful to their exploration of this. I'll be sure to share any further updates of the sizing of widgets with you all here.

Hi everyone, we appreciate and want to thank everyone for feedback on the responsiveness of the new Homepage. This has been shared back with our product teams as they continue to develop this experience.

At this stage, there are no plans to fix the number of columns when using the Homepage. However, our team will continue to monitor usage on this closely.

One recent change we’ve introduced is that the Homepage layout can be saved at each screen size.

For example, if you set up and save the Homepage layout for your laptop and then move to a larger monitor you’ll see this adapt. However, if you ‘edit’ the Homepage and save the layout separately from your monitor Xero will remember the layout for each screen size. You should only need to do this once for each screen you use.

We’re looking at enhancing the edit layout experience soon to…

    Hi Kelly,
I cant use this new homepage, I am scared that it will be forced on to me and no longer have the visual functionality that I need for my workflow - You know, just like new invoicing.
What makes this all the more infuriating for me is that I participated in the feedback on a couple of sessions for new homepage and I remember telling them that we must be able to chose the number of coloums we want and have it scalable. Because having to reply of the size of your internet browser window to make it easier to do your job is just not good enough. More and more Xero requires third party apps or programs to restore functionality that used to be integrated. These are more workarounds, the stress levels have at work has more than doubled because of xero in the last couple of years. I had to cut my hours back at and get help at my job, plus stop doing work for clients as a sole trader. Because Xero required hours of extra work each week than what it did before the forced changes that are not improvements.
Your team brings back some features that used to be there but then promotes them as "new" or tells us they are not important right now. but when you are talking about hours of work each week its pretty important to us.

Will things ever get better for me Kelly?
I get Gaslit - "it doesn't take you longer to do your job, its an adjustment period"
Made to feel like a "Karen" - Yes I am complaining about a simple extra click because its not just 1 instance, it dozens of them, every day.
Told its meant to work like that - oh yeah there are daily workarounds that are "normal" now but hey, that what its mean to do now, doesn't matter if it worked before.
Told its not a priority - The app used to show supplier credit notes in awaiting approval, now it doesn't. Logging in to the computer to approve them defeats the purpose of the app?! - Nope wont be done.
Asked to prove it - Glitch after glitch, your support team don't believe me, I am asked to provide proof. I provide proof, screen shots and recordings, but its not enough, I am asked to provide "live" proof when on a screen share or to send a video, oh no your video, that isn't good enough, make it do it again and use our video recording link, but we wont provide you any proof that we got it, or that we are looking into it and no one in support knows anything about how to locate it either.

I am mentally exhausted at how challenging my job has become because of Xero. I have spoken to management, participated in feedback sessions, actively engaged on Xero Central and I have achieved nothing.
I am more anxious, frustrated and depressed, because of Xero.
I have never felt more helpless that I do right now, as I type this...

Hi there, thanks for the suggestion!

You're right that the current 'Total Cash In and Out' widget is fixed to a 6-month view.

While you can see longer periods by running a Cash Summary report, I understand that having that 12 or 18-month trend visible immediately on your dashboard would be much more powerful for spotting seasonal patterns.

I’ve classified this as 'Gaining Support' to see how many others would like more flexibility with this widget's timeframe

Hi Michele, connecting with our product team I understand you directly caught up with them on some of these points too. We really value the time you've taken to connect and feedback about these beta experiences.

I've split your feedback here to multiple ideas so we can track interest in each change separately.

I've updated the title of this idea to reflect the request to add the Account transactions' button to the bank account widget and you'll find the other idea's I've created on your behalf listed below. 🙂

    Hey Kelly,

    Immediate attention....?

    How about 6 months.

Because that is how long your Aussie customers have before we no longer comply with ATO legislation....

    Here is another number.... 0

That is the amount of confidence I have that Xero will do it without messing it up, or screwing us over....again.

The fact that Xero has not confirmed (refuses to) it will make sure this is in place in time is crazy.

Your customers now have to waste more time putting in place and setting up contingencies because of this lack of commitment to compliance.

    Thanks...

Hi everyone, our product teams are continuously reviewing and reprioritising their roadmaps for future work and although we don’t have any plans to change the credit application process this year, this is something we will investigate more closely in 2026.

As we begin to explore work for enabling credit notes in the bill payments flow, we’ll reach out for input to help us shape the design and approach so we cater for the widest possible requirements. Thank you all, and we’ll be back to share when exploration starts.

I am re raising this idea as was combined incorrectly with another idea that is unrelated...

I got an acknowledgement of this from Kelly M but have no way to contact her to follow up.

The only way to look for bills that have been raised against a purchase order is to go to the PO and look at the notes, here it only says Copied to "Bill", no invoice number just a link (see attached)
When I open this it's basically a view only, you can repeat, delete or copy.
I am baffled by this as I then have go searching by that bill number to go in and edit it. But there is no other way for me to find what bills are linked to that PO.
I also wonder how many people would be more likely to use "Repeat" instead of Edit at this screen?!
There appears to be no logic applied to this... Give us an Edit button...

Whoever the person from Xero is that combined my suggestion with this one has gotten it wrong. The issue I have is different and predates the PO View change.

Someone who uses Xero and looked at my screen shots would have noticed the difference.

    Please Reopen my idea!

Hey community, we know how this feature would really help reduce manual work, make reconciliation smoother, and give you more confidence when processing your bills, and managing orders.

Some customers have shared a possible solution for the time being of using the bill’s reference field for the PO number. We know this isn’t perfect, but might help in the interim.

I’m pleased to share that we’re refreshing purchase orders at present, and taking on board all the feedback surrounding the top requests from our customers in these forums.

Linkage between Purchase orders and Bills is a high focus for our team in this space. While we can’t give timelines atm, we’ll move the idea to In discovery and keep you updated as work progresses. 😊

We appreciate everyone that's contributed here. Needs in more incremental permissions for bank accounts, have been clearly highlighted in your feedback - from protecting the confidentiality of payroll information to securely delegating reconciliation tasks for specific accounts.

Leaning in from our last update, our product teams have conducted lots of research of existing user roles, to highlight the most critical areas work is needed to power up our customers use of Xero.

Reporting and inventory are our first areas of priority, and you may have seen recent updates across ideas for these areas.

Permissions to bank accounts is another area that stood out in our research, but has more dependencies and will take longer to develop.

We'll keep you updated as our journey with roles and permissions evolve and there's more in the space of banking to share with you all.

Thanks for your feedback on this change, Patricia. Out of interest is there a particular reason or workflow for why you prefer to enter your bills manually rather than via an upload?

    Appreciate, will take a little getting used to a different flow. A couple of other options for navigating to the new bill screen could also be;

    • Using the keyboard shortcuts (Alt+Shift+N) from the bills screen
    • Using the '+' icon in the navigation header to quickly Create a new Bill from any screen
    • Using '/' and typing 'b' in the global search where you'll get the option of New bill from any screen

While we'll get a sense of interest in this through your idea, we want to be open that there aren't any plans for changing this back.
