  1. Please allow adding on an extra employee for payroll in Australia, as is possible in the UK.
    The Ignite plan is enough for most small businesses and sole traders, but the jump in price just to add an extra employee means paying more than double, which is cost prohibitive.
    Most businesses don't need the add on and accounting tools when you move up to Grow or Comprehensive - allowing for an extra payroll add on for a small charge, would be beneficial for family and small businesses.

  2. Ability to link a bill/expense to a customers invoice but not have it itemise. So you can track cost of goods per job especially for small businesses only utilizing invoicing and not having to do projects

    Hi Phil, it'd be good to get a bit more detail to better understand your needs from what is currently available with billable expenses.

    Right now, you can assign lines of a bill directly to a customer (rather than project). When you add the items to your customers invoice you can edit the remove the item code if you don't want it directly associated to the inventory item.

    Would it be more something like the idea here that you're after with more visibility of the linkage between the invoice and bill?

  5. At the moment when you go to Organisation Settings > Subscription and billing (e.g. https://go.xero.com/Settings/ManageSubscription), it says "Change plan and update credit card details Managed by XXXX"

    If we are XXXX - we don't see either of those things, only a button to take us somewhere else to Manage the plan.
    If we are not XXXX - we don't see either of those things.

    How dumb?

    Just show the Xero subscription/plan so we know what it is.

    Hi Sam, appreciate you sharing this idea — we understand where you're coming from.

    Being able to quickly see your Xero subscription plan from within your organisation’s settings would definitely make things easier. Having to jump to a different section just to check your plan or see what features are included isn’t ideal, especially when you’re trying to make quick decisions.

    At the moment, this info isn’t shown in the Organisation Settings, but you can view your plan by going to My Xero from the main menu and clicking on the Subscriptions tab. That’s where you’ll find your current plan and any add-ons.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. If this change would make things simpler for you, feel free to vote or leave a comment — your feedback helps us understand what matters most and where we can improve.

    Hi Zachary, it looks like there is an integration with Mechanic desk available. If you've already integrated this with your organisation and looking for further capabilities to what it offers we recommend reaching out to their support directly (listed under the additional info section of the Xero app store).

    As they designed and built the integration they can confirm what's possible and would need to make decisions of if this is something they'd be willing to expand their integration for.

  9. When we go to the apps directory, and click on an app we are interested, they are usually associated with an external company. For instance, Crypto websites that consolidate our crypto transactions, then can be imported into Xero.

    But when I go to the information pages about the apps, there is no link I can find to the actual website of the company. There are usually links to support, or social media.

    Please go one step further and just put in the official website.

    The reason for this is because sometimes we are researching what services actually connect with Xero…

    As you mentioned, the app listings currently have links to their social media pages, but not directly to their website.

    For now, you might use these social media pages to get links to their websites. In the meantime, our team will check into this and your suggestion can now begin to build support with votes from other community members.

  10. There is nowhere to report missing features and bugs apart from this forum, which is more for ideas.
    I have found it difficult to find a place to report an issue quickly.
    For new invoicing the list of missing features and bugs should be reported so we can see what has already been picked up and what is being worked on and fixed.

    HI Jill, appreciate you posting here, not knowing where else to go.

    For something that appears to not be working as it should or where you're having performance issues in Xero - these are best to raise with our specialists at Xero Support where we have tools to investigate, triage any issues and escalate with our team if needed.

    When it comes to new invoicing we've communicated a lot of the changes and what's coming up through our Xero central page here. Otherwise, you'll also find many ideas for changes across product ideas here that I'd recommend joining for updates where you're interested. Searching 'New invoicing' on the main page of the site should help you find a list of the different features.

  11. This idea has been raised again and again but XERO isn't listening!!!

    The demo company is a great idea, but it makes no sense to automatically reload all the "duff" data every 30 days.

    It's VERY simple to achieve a very useful and flexible feature, by....
    1) Be able to clear all the data in the Demo Company
    2) Make the 30 day reload of useless data optional
    3) Enable cloning of an existing organisation

    We need to be able to test imports, features etc. and be able to return the "demo company" to EMPTY and if required to restore…

  12. We signed up several years ago, and were really happy with the software as it was. Now we keep update after update, and price rise after price rise. Our cost has now doubled in 5 years. I know there's fancy "features" added to it now, but I don't need them. All I want is the version from a couple of years ago. Accounting, payroll for 5, Classic invoicing, old style reports, old style bills page, old style contacts, no cashflow analytics.

    Why not just make the older version available as a basic package for say £25 a month. No fancy…

  13. I have the a tablet and use a cover with a keyboard, it would be so much easier to use the app if the screen didn't default to portrait mode and activating the screen keyboard. Please allow the Xero app to rotate to landscape so that I can use the cover keyboard.

  14. Sales question:
    we want to buy xero. We only do 100 transactions per year, but we have one month which has more than 20 invoices and 5 bills, (an event we organise). does the basic subscription do monthly transaction counts only or can it do an annual transaction count.

  15. I am trying to find an app to help with cash flow forecasting. Xero could not have made it harder to compare. Why does the app overview page not say anything about the cost of the app? It only says free trial is available, however, I want to see what the ongoing cost is, before I even consider giving it a go. With Xero increasing costs so often and by an outrageous percentage, I find the lack of transparency of connected apps cost rather disingenuous. Xero needs to make it easier to not just search but also to compare features…

    We appreciate for many small businesses having more information about connected apps pricing is important when making and choosing solutions for your business.

    While this isn't currently available, it's something our team are looking into surfacing through the Xero App store.

    There's a bit of work to go into it, but we'll keep you updated of any progress for this here. 😊

  16. In regard to client monthly charges being oncosted via billing, would it be possible for you to run a report of any other files that are dormant. Files that are being paid for and not used?

  17. Current subscription payment method only allows debit/credit cards, it creates an additional step for the cardholder to claim back the fund from company every month. Therefore, I need the option to pay for the Xero subscription via auto GIRO deduction directly from company's bank account. It is more logical to have auto GIRO option since the subscription is for company use and the payment is recurring.

  18. Xero billing: Please make the packages pricing clearer on the monthly invoices.
    i.e. please add the package elements breakdown. It doesn't have to be a separate line item, it could even just be added to the text description, but showing one price, as per the invoices from xero, does not explicity explain that there is a breakdown for items mentioned. Seeing this clarity on the monthly invoices is very helpful for ensuring transparency from xero to its customers. Also, months - or years - down the line it is hard to remember what the package elements cost unless so having…

  19. The Danish Business Authority requires Accounting Systems to be approved by them in order for you to use their system in the country. XERO currently have no plans to get approved by them, I think they should get approval from DBA, and other countries, to enable subsidiaries of Global companies to use the same software as their parent companies.

  20. Ability to switch between organisations on the Xero phone app. I presently work for several businesses and upload receipts/invoices as go. I presently would need to login and out to be able to do this as I have different email accounts for some of the businesses I work for. I am told that I can only do this if I use the same email account across all clients, this is not possible with in house email accounts.
