    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your support for part disposal of Fixed Assets in Xero.  Being transparent - current work for the team requires focus on upgrades to Fixed Asset technology.

  2. Invoice placeholders (repeating invoices)

    It would be an advantage to allow additional fields in the repeating invoice template, including future quarter(s) / year(s) or date ranges.

    Thanks for the advice here, Barbara - In relation to what you've asked it sounds very similar to the idea here that I'd

    d recommend adding your support too. 


    Jeremy - do you mind giving a bit more detail of what you're in need of here if Barbara's help doesn't resolve your issue? If you'd like to insert a placeholder for a future date this can be done. If you'd like to set a specific date you can do this using + and - when inserting the placeholder. 



  3. Multiple contacts on a Project. Projects can currenlty only be built and linked to 1 contact at a time. However. in terms of training and events where there could be multiple contacts linked this is an issue. If Xero could add the option for multiple contacts this would be great. It would save all my issues in terms of tracking a job.

    Hi Megan, when your talk about the training and events could you explain a bit more of your business flow when using Projects? 

    Atm, you can create bills and invoices for different contacts and associated these transactions with a single project. 

  4. The filter right now only allows to select all or select/deselect some, but sometimes it would be easier to be able to just exclude something (an account, a group of accounts, a contact, an invoice etc).

    Good to understand the features you found useful in classic invoicing - thanks for sharing, here.

    This is a feature that our team are looking to develop in new invoicing however there are a few other pieces of work lined up before.

    We'll shift to Under review and I'll keep you updated of any progress, here.

  6. As an event company, we often receive bills months after the original project is "complete". I wish I could assign costs to "complete" projects the same way that I can assign invoices to "complete" projects.

    Hi Leah, when you've closed/completed a project it is still possible to add Bills and new Expense tasks to it. 

    From the bill you'll be able to look up and assign lines of your Bill, or within the project you can simply add an expense. The only transactions you can no longer add once closed are Billable expenses, Spend monies and time entries. 

    Is there a specific reason you need to enter the expense as one of these type of items?

    Appreciate the feedback for the General Ledger Summary report, Kala. 

    I wanted to confirm it is possible to reorder columns within the General Ledger Details report (like my image below). Is there a specific reason you'd like this in the summary too, or does this possibly meet the needs you're after?

  10. I wish to see if invoices are paid on unpaid when pulling account transaction reports.

    Accounting - Account Transaction Report - Columns - (add if we can see if bill/invoice paid or unpaid)

    There is no way currently when pulling this report to see if the bills are paid or not.

    Hi Jayden, you can filter the Receivable or Payable Invoice Details reports by scrolling down to the Status option where you'll see multiple selections including Paid - I've included an image of this for your reference 🙂

    LMK how you get on, and if this helps with what you're after.

  11. Invoice - Be able to have Xero automatically create a credit note if an invoice is negative. Show the invoice as paid in full and generate a credit note for the remainder. The credit can then be applied normally to other invoices on the customer account.

    Hi Darren, it sounds like you might have a particular flow for creating invoices at present? When you say you'd like to have 'Xero automatically create a credit note if an invoice is negative' - How is this currently being entered in your org atm?

Bank reconciliation - A report that will show each bank transaction and then which invoice it has been reconciled against, as a way of having a quick way to check something has been reconciled incorrectly. Currently, the only way is to view each transaction through the account transaction report.

    Good to hear you're aware of how you can run the Account Transactions report to view this information, Catherine - Is there a reason or something missing from this report that would help you when reviewing transactions? 

  13. Exchange rate on bank reconciliation report
    For foreign currency bank accounts, the old bank reconciliation report used to include a note stating that the exchange rate per xe.com that was used to translate the bank balance to the home currency at the report date. This was very useful information to include, as it confirmed the rate and the source of where that rate was obtained. This is not included on the new format bank reconciliation report pack. Please could this note be brought back on the new format reports?

    Thanks for showing your interest and feeding back on the difference between old and new Bank Reconciliation reports. We understand wanting to see a change here and we have plans to focus on foreign currency disclosures after the work to retire old reports in July is complete.

    Right now, you’ll need to obtain the revaluation rate from your organisation's Currencies settings screen and add it into a text block at the bottom of the report.

    We'll keep you updated of when the team begin actively working on this, here.

  14. Currently, you are able to pull the Contact Transactions Summary and ledger for only one contact at a time.

    If you can add the ability to pull more than one contact's transactions at a time, it would be great. It should work the same as "Account Transactions" where you choose the accounts you want to pull, just for Contacts.

    Hi Elizna, you can run the Receivable or Payable invoice detail reports for multiple contacts at a time. Is there something specific about the Contact Transactions Summary that's missing from these reports that you'd want included ? 

  15. The ability to flag a customer as "purchase order required". We have a growing number of customers who won't pay us unless we put a purchase order reference on the invoice. It would be good if we can have a flag in the customer that says they require a PO and therefore when we raise an invoice to them it pops up a reminder message.

    Quick turn around, as we were able to roll this out rather fast 😁!
    You should all have access to the new Notes feature I mentioned - Found at the bottom of the Contact details section when adding or editing a contact.
    As I mentioned, this’ll enable you to enter text such as a requirement for a Purchase order that you’ll be able to see when viewing the Contact record.
    It’d be great to get feedback - if this helps with your needs here.

  16. To be able to bulk download invoices for a client or multiple clients.

    With also the ability to filter to all invoices, paid invoices and not paid invoices.

    Hi Amy, could you give a bit more detail on what this would help you do, or is there a specific format you'd be looking to download invoices in? 

    Currently, you can export invoices from Xero and would be able to filter these in exported CSV file, or can do a search to do this before exporting - More on this here

  17. Suggest being able to turn a bill to pay directly into a prepayment or better yet a part prepayment.

    The Bills to Pay function doesn't work well (at all?) for prepayments - if a draft bill is received there is no workflow to set it as a prepayment recognised by Xero (although you can set the account to debit as a prepayment). Suggest adding "Record as prepayment" to the bill options drop down.

    Even better would be the functionality to record the bill as a part prepayment, many of our bills are for annual service delivery, therefore the bill will…

    Hi Matthew and Anthony, appreciate perhaps not as streamlined as you'd like here there is the ability to apply a prepayment to a bill. 

    In Xero, you would enter the bill to recognise the expense, payment itself would generally be recognised through the bank account when reconciling which is where you can create a prepayment and then apply the credit to the bill.

    Alternatively, if you'd like to do this from the bills screen, you could use the create icon (+) in the top blue navigation and select Spend Money when redirected you'll want to switch the 'Spent as' to Prepayment from Direct Payment. 

  18. Universal search should include Unreconciled Transactions Too.

    We often search the amount of spend money or bill in universal search but we cannot find the unreconciled transaction through the Universal Search.

  19. Ability to close and lock a period for accounting and reporting purposes to ensure that, once figures are reported and published, those figures do not change. Any necessary changes (VAT rates, corrections etc) to source documents could be made but the impact should fall in the current, open period.

  20. When viewing a Contact's record, the activity can appear cluttered with every single change made, including adding planned payment dates, removing planned payment dates, adding invoice notes, editing the contact's record etc.
    It would be good to be able to filter this page to look at say Bills Paid and Invoices Paid only; or Invoice Sent only.
    As it works now, for a very active contact, this can quickly become difficult to navigate.

    Thanks for your feedback and sharing your idea in the forums here, Jo - As part of our work for 'building on beautiful' a contact record is the next page in this space that'll be getting a new look. 

    Though a little too soon to confirm what it will look like, I can say that the page will be cleaner, with filters to help with viewing what is shown on the page.
