Reporting - Option to "exclude" rather than deselect in filters
The filter right now only allows to select all or select/deselect some, but sometimes it would be easier to be able to just exclude something (an account, a group of accounts, a contact, an invoice etc).

Hi Barbara, when considering your idea here - is there a specific report you'd find the option to exclude rather than deselecting most useful?

This feature would be helpful in the detailed time report. We'd like to exclude some projects from the search results. We've created a custom report to find out which projects needs invoicing, by ticking the 'uninvoiced' box. Most our projects are client related who we invoice, but some of our projects are internal, e.g. for tracking time spent on admin tasks, and don't need invoicing. These internal projects take up a lot of space in the report.

I'd like to be able to exclude contacts from the Payable Invoice summary and others.
For example I'm trying to make a report that shows me outstanding invoice to suppliers. But excludes shareholder employees. To better understand our committed costs, and liabilities to "external" parties.

Can we please have the option to EXCLUDE fund codes from I&E reports rather than include? We add new fund codes regularly and with 17 schools this means I need to edit the layout of so many reports each month. If we could simply exclude the ones we don't want I would not need to edit the layouts

We really need this option for I&E reports. We use fund codes a lot and are often adding new ones for school trips, we are then required to edit the layout for 3 reports for each of our 17 schools every month

This feature be especially helpful in the General Ledger/Transactions reports, so could exclude accounts that have significant number of transactions eg Sales Accounts, Bank Account, GST.
By only being able to select to include, if add a new account have to remember to update all reports to then include the account, rather than it automatically being included in using the exclude option. -

Surprised this wasn’t already possible! I was just trying to filter out some results, wanting to say Description field DOES NOT CONTAIN <string>. Looks like I'll have to export the data.

I would like the exclude feature in both the bill and invoice options - really any search field. Can you program a wildcard feature like other software have. For example, '<>' to exclude or include all with '*' wildcard? Or have an include/exclude checkbox and then a field to enter the text to include/exclude.

Yes this would be a great option, especially to exclude a contact group or contact would be invaluable. Because if you use the include and take out the contacts you want, you get a big list at the top of the report, which doesn't look good and no way to hide it.

For me it is the Invoice detail report, but all reports would be handy to have this function

In "Account Transactions report" Sometimes I just want to exclude one contact.
I will have to click all of my contact (and that's so many) and unclick one...And same goes to sourcing choosing in the same report.
I just want to filt out "Spend Money" "Receive Money" and keep the rest -

The one I am thinking of is the Account Transactions report. All filters should have an "except" filter within them, it would just make reporting so much quicker than having to tick/untick all of them one by one.
