  1. previous invoice pricing to a customer, I want to see who i sold it too so i can do the same pricing, Instead of the history of products and invoice just say Invoice and Bill

  2. When generating a quote or invoice, we've noticed that the [Customer First Name] placeholder doesn't work if we haven't added the customer as a contact beforehand. This process is time-consuming, especially when creating a new quote. Is there a way to customize the quote/invoice creation process so we can include the customer's details, like their first name, without having to create a separate contact?

    Please, this will really increase productivity.

    Hi Bovi, trying to understand your idea here. When you say you'd like to include the customer name without adding the contact. Is this for a 1 time customer? 

    When using new invoicing you can add a new contact while you add the invoice?

  3. In the new invoicing it is possible to add a customers credit onto their invoice from the bottom of the screen however the old version would have a pop up asking if you would like to apply the credit.

    Can we change new invoicing so that it pops up asking for confirmation as this is easily missed.

    Hi Amy, when you start entering an invoice for a customer that has credit you'll receive a notification in the bottom right. Then, when you approve the invoice you'll receive a prompt to let you know that you have credit for the contact and would you like to apply it. Or is there a different place in this flow you'd expect to see the prompt? 

  4. Scenario - Multiple projects open. If materials are purchased at eg a builders merchants for mutliple projects on one invoice/receipt, it's not possible to allocate the spend to individual projects which is madness. It seems that the total invoice/receipt must be assigned to ONE particular project. When materials are bought, it's often far cheaper to buy them in bulk, hence buying for more than one project at the same time. It should be possible to therefore assign individual lines on the invoice to a particular project (a bit like tracking).

    Hi Clare, if you're adding an expense from within a project, it's expected that the expense you're creating is related to the Project you're in. You could create a Bill within the Bills to pay area where you can assign individual lines of your bill to different Projects. 

  5. Ability to create an invoice template that saves the line items, e.g description, quantity etc
    Instead of having to manually enter the same description for each new invoice created, just save it as a template. Not just as a branding template.

    Hi Morgan, if you have common inventory and services you trade, you could look at saving these as items to your Products and services. When invoicing you'd simply use the Item column to find and select what needed to be included in the invoice, saving you time from having to enter repetitive data. 

    Appreciate there is a little hurdle if you're looking at adding 'description' only lines with new invoicing atm and this is something we're looking into and you can follow updates for this across on this idea

  6. Can we please bring back the 'add last items' for an invoice?
    This saved us A LOT of time on regularly customers.
    Not sure why it was removed.

    Thanks for your feedback on new invoicing here. Good to understand the features our users find most handy. The team are looking at many improvements they can make to continue to enhance this experience for our customers. While we can't commit to development as yet, this is something the team are looking into and we'll keep you updated of any progress of this, here. 

  7. Make it easier to just see a list of all unpaid bills by having a selection option rather than having to search All and filter by paid date

  8. Please move the SAVE for the New invoicing to the bottom as per old invoicing. When you have an invoice with 30-50 items and then have to scroll back up to save it adds to the pressure of getting things done.

    Or Better still

    Leave the old there until you've got it together and your Paid subscribers are happy.

  10. Many of my clients complain that they 'can't find what they are looking for' when using the top search bar facility. I too often struggle to find things unless I am specific and know the exact detail of a posting. A search return of more options would be very beneficial listing all transactions in relation to any word or value typed into the search bar.

    Appreciate your feedback on search in Xero, Laura. When you say you'd like more options for search are than any specific fields of transactions that you and your clients might commonly search - this'll help when sharing back with the team. 

    If say, you'd search text generally in the description field of a transaction I'll merge your idea here in with this one where we can keep you all updated of any change all together. 

  11. When choosing item code and description, I want the ability to leave the rest of the fields blank. Classic invoicing had no problems with it. The new invoicing wants to populate QTY, UNIT PRICE and AMOUNT. Makes the invoice look unappealing.

    Thanks for all your feedback here, everyone. The way you add description only lines in new invoicing is a little different to classic and we wanted to explain in hopes it'll help with how you're using new invoicing. 
    When entering a description only line, you can enter text in the description field of the line. If you add detail to any other field the line will be treated as a 'financial' line and you will need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax rate.
    When an inventory item is added this uses the item code field and the line is treated as 'financial', so it's not possible to use inventory items as description only lines in new invoicing atm.

    Hi all, thanks for feeding back on the ways you work with invoicing and what you'd like to see with new invoicing in Xero.

    Our team are reviewing the flow when copying an invoice and having the contact name automatically populate.

    In the way this currently works, once you add a contact to the new(copied) invoice any defaults you've applied to a contacts record will then be applied to the invoice. This flow of default application is something the team will consider as part of their review and what works best for majority of users.

  13. Description:
    I would like to suggest the incorporation of a new functionality in Xero that allows users to save supplier statements within the system. This feature should not post any transactions to the chart of accounts but instead, save the supplier's name, balance, and date as a memo associated with the statement. This information should be viewable within the supplier's profile.

    Implementation:
    The saved statement details should be accessible in a dedicated section of the supplier's profile, providing a historical record of statement balances on specific dates. Furthermore, these statement details could be utilized in the Aged Payables report, either…

    Hi team, if you have the Adviser role in an org from the dashboard you can click the '+' icon in the menu banner at the top of the screen, and select 'Manual journal' which'll take you directly to a new Manual Journal. Does this accomplish what you're after here? 

  15. The ability to add a tracking code from within the 'new invoicing' bills.
    Classic invoicing has this ability and it would be excellent to have it in the new invoicing also.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate your input on being able to add new tracking options while invoicing and our team are looking into improvements that could be made to this flow in new invoicing. I'll keep you looped in on any change for this here. 

  16. Currently if a duplicate Bill to Pay is entered this only highlights/flags as duplicate when you are first creating the Bill or are editing the bill at a later date. Once it has been approved, it no longer highlights/flags this as a potential duplicate.

    It would be great if Xero could flag that this could be a duplicate in 2 places:
    1) on the bills to pay screen, somewhere out to the side (like the attachments) or perhaps the whole row in a different colour to identify that there are 2 bills for the same supplier with the same invoice…

  17. If you enter a duplicate supplier invoice via an email link into Xero bills, then Xero should advise/warn you that there is already an invoice in the system with the same reference/ amount. There should be the same warning that is given when a duplicate invoice is loaded into Xero bills manually.

  18. OK so maybe it's obvious to you that Xero Product Ideas is under the 'Community' tab on xero central but can I suggest you mention it under 'Support' too, as that is where most people looking for help start?

    I tried searching 'feature request', 'request' etc on support and in the end had to open a case to find out you had a whole Product Ideas thing - I didn't think to look under 'Community' as I wrongly assumed that was just discussion.
    I can't be the only person who thought this way, especially when concerned about something that seems…

    Hi all, we’ve now made Product Ideas available in Xero Central search, you’ll spot them in the results with their green label for “Product Idea” or you can filter your search under “What do you want to do?” to select “Share an idea”. 😁

    As mentioned in our last update we’re also looking into making Product Ideas easier to find - we’ll update this idea once we’ve got more to share.

  19. Why do we have to switch back to classic to apply and over payment - This feature needs to be in the New Invoicing System. It creates a massive amount of clicking to get all the features needed.

    Hi community, thanks for your engagement through the idea here. This is something we're looking to build into new invoicing.   20. Ability to upload invoice lines into sales invoices (like journal upload) When you have to produce large multi line sales invoices the ability to upload from an excel file would be a huge timesaver instead of having to enter each line individually.

    Hi Mandy, right now it is possible to import invoices with a CSV file. If you'd like to add multiple lines for the same invoice you just need to use the same invoice number for each row of the file. We have some help and tips on the formatting of the file. Or is it something a bit different that you're after here?
