Payables report by planned date
Hi Guys,
Is there an option for us to general a payable report by the planned date?
1 voteHi Kai, you can run the Payable Invoice Summary report which has the ability to include Planned Date as a column, or you can also choose to group by this field if you'd prefer - Does this achieve what you're in need of here?

New invoicing - Send invoice via sms from laptop
I like to be able to send an invoice to both email and SMS at the same time from both laptop and phone

Expense Claims - keep the attachment in a fixed position on the screen, allowing us to view information without needing to scroll down.
When reviewing an expense claim, it would be ideal if the attachment (receipt) could fill the left side of the screen, so we can see the full receipt.
Scrolling up and down to view information is tedious, so having the attachment displayed in a fixed area with an option to zoom in when needed would make the process much smoother.
Currently, the view shows the top third only, so it misses a lot of information.
1 voteHi Kelly, just to confirm would this be when using the Xero Me app to view and enter claims?

Export invoice
A feature to export the status of outstanding invoices/overview in PDF Format. Currently its only available on Excel format.
2 votesWould this be so you can get the Overdue by column, Kristel? If that column isn't really a concern, you could run the Receivable Invoice Summary report atm and filter this by Status = Approved to get all but the Overdue by column. This report can be exported to Excel, Google Sheets or PDF.

Reporting Section under Ideas
Financial reporting is a critical business need of any business using software. Its strange that Xero dont have this as a catagory under Small business ideas. Can we add "Reports" as a catagory. Xero is poor compared to quickbooks now so need to udnerstand if its ever going to change or whether we need to move. I will only be able to gauge this if there are lots or zero user ideas on reporting (perhaps its only me that thinks its "ok but not great"
1 voteThanks for submitting your idea here, Robert. Appreciate where you're coming from. Right now, the structure of product ideas categories is similar to the blue navigation within your Xero org so we typically have reporting ideas under Accounting features. Understand how it mightn't be the most intuitive design atm though and this is something that we're considering making updates to. I'll keep you looped in on any change for this here. 😊

Credit Card charge report
Allow Xero user to add additional columns to "Transaction report" so that a report can be sent to each credit card holder in the business confriming where the items on their statement were coded in Xero. This report would accompany their credit card statement each month.
It proactively ensures coding and subsequent department, management and board reporting is correct. This saves time, effort and unnecessary republishing of reports.
(This request came about after assistance from Xero Support)
Colums needed are: Related Account and $ value in that account1 voteAaah wait I see you've noted the columns you're after at the end of your idea(sorry for missing this).
Related account is already an option, if not showing already you'll just want to choose the columns menu to select this.
For the $ value in that account the Running balance should help here, and you'll see an opening balance at the top and closing balance at the end of the account section.
Would this accommodate you're needs?

Please bring back the ability to send a Remittance Advice to those companies that were paid.
2 votesHi Barbara, trying to better understand your idea as it's currently possible to send a remittance for bills paid. We have some help on how to do this in Xero Central.
Can you give a bit more detail of what you're in need of here?

Hi Chris, the options for Sales and Purchases are the same in Contact defaults. You'll find there is a 'of the following month' option.
When you say end of the following month would this be to be able to set the bill due date to change based on the # of days in the month?

Hi Xero Team , Kindly find attached file for your reference. I am sharing video file and screenshot that feature very useful for all user and copy above cell during invoice and bill generate. I am suggesting to IT team if they unlock drag and drop copy cell from above cell from mouse that feature would be very appreciated and may help to all user to easy invoicing and bill that help to time saving while enter multiple similar details in invoice or bill. I have also mentioned how to prevent accidental drag & drop cell with using ON/OFF button…

New Invoicing - Copy invoice to keep existing email
Thank you for delivering to keep the existing contact when copying an invoice. Now when you email the invoice the email address is not populated from the contact file. You have to go and look it up to send the copied invoice.
Please refer to the contact details and pre-populate their contact email addresses.
Thanks
5 votesSorry Lynne, It's a bit hard to troubleshoot and get the detail to understand why your contacts details like email aren't coming through to your copied invoice. I've just tested this with Draft and approved invoices being copied and the email of the contact was bought through each time as expected. I'd recommend raising this with our specialist through the Contact Xero Support option in Xero Central for closer inspection.
Thanks for also checking on this, Olga - that message on defaults application is related to the Sales defaults saved against inventory items or the contacts record but doesn't apply to the contacts personal details. These should be applied when copying an invoice.
To explain a little more - The reason defaults aren't automatically applied is because the line item fields will be prefilled with the information from the existing invoice that the new one is copied from.
We understand…

New Invoicing - History to include if invoice is resent
When an amendment is made and the invoice resent it needs to record who it has been sent to
317 votesHi community, thanks for getting involved here and letting us know the importance around being able to see the details whenever an invoice is sent from Xero. We understand the importance of this to our customers and our product team are beginning to review this idea to solve needs in this space. We'll move to Under review and I'll let you know as there's more progress here. Thanks

Assigning invoice when sent to xero email
It would be helpful to assign an account to an email sent to Xero containing a receipt (similar to how this is possible in the mobile app).
1 voteHi Lauren, just to make sure I understand your idea here correctly. Would this be when using Xero's email to bills feature, or just generally when sending a file to the files inbox?

Broadcast modeling clothes for different seasons and company's world wide investments
Writing a void check and card number to my account safely and protected and every camera shoot or label for seasons as different styles of dress codes it also sells the outfits faster then just one item and you have an advisoer or acounter to withdraw in my account and I pay bills as I go and be on pay roll and fix this idea project process and broadcast modeling also for this business builds.
1 voteNot sure I quite understand your idea and where you'd like to see change in Xero to help your business here, Kate. If you can come back to share more detail of what you'd like to see changed that'll help when sharing back with the team, and for others that may also be interested in this through the community.

UK Payroll - Create leave policy
I want to be able to create a new leave policy but there is currently no functionality for this. The existing leave policies are limited and do not allow for leave to be loaded from a specific date, only the start anniversary or 1st Jan, or to be accrued gradually. I have some clients who set their leave from the first date of their financial year eg. 1st May each year. It would be useful to either have this leave policy loaded by Xero for provide the ability to create new leave policies.
3 votesThanks for sharing with us here, Aly. We recently released a change in UK payroll so leave will now accrue on the first day of your annual accrual method. You'll find my update on this idea. Would this be the same as what you're after here?

Log on - Go straight to Dashboard
I would like to be able to go straight to Dashboard please!
3 votesHi Milla, you can set up whether you're taken straight to the last organisation you logged into or if you're taken to your My Xero homepage. Or is it something a bit different you're referring to here?

Invoicing | Files - Ability to attach files before adding contact
This Function is Broken with New Invoicing - It does NOT create a new invoice with the file attached.
68 votesHi everyone, further to my recent update about our teams looking closer into the flows around attaching files to invoices, our product team have also started more research to get a better sense of our invoicing users for future improvements. We wanted to reach out to you all here to invite you to contribute through this survey. All your feedback will be deeply valuable to the team.
I’ll keep you updated on any progress around this idea specifically.

Bills - Enter days for bills due
Hi
Please can we have the ability to change the settings on suppliers bills due date to move than 31 days of the following month. We have several suppliers where we do not need to pay until 60 days after the end of the month in which the bill is issued.
Thank you
2 votesThanks for sharing here, Karen. To just get a better understanding would this be when creating a new bill, or perhaps a repeating bill? It'll be handy when sharing back with the team.
You could set up defaults in your Contacts to auto enter the due date for example as 60 days after the end of the invoice month, or similarly with a repeating bill you could set this up in the template.

Tracking categories by month
I think it would be useful to update the 'Tracking Summary report' and make it possible to open it by month
2 votesHi Melanie, would be good to slightly understand your idea here better - when you say you'd like to update the Tracking Summary report by month, would this be to add comparative columns or just run the report for a month date range?
The Blank report might also be useful here where you can add Tracking columns with the Layout editor and set up the report in the style you're after. Once all set up you could then save the report as Custom to easily access this when you like.

Bank Rules - Ability to set Date as a criteria
It would be great to have the date of bank transactions as a criteria field when creating a rule. When we are paid by the ESFA, the amounts we receive at the beginning of the month have a different nominal to those received later in the month. In Sage we could set a rule as 'between 2 dates'
1 voteHi Sarah, when a bank rule is applied it'll use the date of the statement line to apply to the transaction it creates so you don't need to set this within the rule itself. Or are you saying you'd like to set the date of the transaction that's going to be created when the bank rule is applied?

Manual Journals - Formulas in Journal Entries
Allow journal entry fields to have a formula or calculation. it would be much easier when doing manual journal entries.
3 votesHi Josue, Xero has an inbuilt calculator that enables you to enter simple formulas that'll auto calculate when you move the cursor to the next field.
Does this accomplish what you're in need of here?
- Don't see your idea?
