NZ Payroll - Sick leave schedule of accrual
Schedule of Accrual - Sick Leave : would love the option: Annually after 3 Months

Hey everyone, we've been making some changes to improve NZ Payroll for Xero users.
If you're just getting started with Xero (from 5 August 2024) you can now set up the Sick leave entitlement date for an employee.
We know people in the idea here are existing payroll users and we can assure you we're working to also develop this for existing customers. There are a few more intricacies to work through from what already exists to the new. I'll be back to share when there's more news on this and when you can get access to this too. Thanks

One of the issues we have with Xero Payroll is there is no Anniversary Date for Sick leave. Our company changed hands in Apr 2020. As the new owners did not bring the Sick balances over, our sick leave anniversary became 6mths after change of ownership. That means we have to manually adjust the sick leave balances at 6mths after their Start anniversary rolls around (as service length is still recognised) for our 80 odd staff and then again on the first of October.
We also have a annual Shutdown for Christmas, when staff have not been with the company for a year their Start anniversary date is meant to move when we pay them their 8%. Again comes back to no sick leave anniversary day being an issue. -

We have a medium sized client whose employees are covered by a union collective agreement. Due to the type of work, their sick leave is available after 3 months. At the moment, I have to set their sick leave to 'no accruals' and add sick leave manually at their anniversary date. This is not only inconvenient, but leaves a very large margin of error.

Frustrating to not be able to start an employee differently to the norm. Someone who has worked us as a subcontractor for us now going to be an employee and we want him on 3 months for sick leave and bereavement leave. Cant do , don't really want to be monitoring manually
