Xero does a great job of calculating profit based off of invoiced items, a crucial feature to quoting projects is calculating profit off of that project.
Xero should add a an estimated profit calculating quotes, and estimated expenses and give you a profit margin based off of estimates and then finalize the profit calculation when the invoice is created.
