Hi team, we thoroughly appreciate the feedback we've received from our community here.
I want to share that our product team have made a recent change for the banner that you receive in invoicing, so now if you choose to 'dismiss' this it'll be permanent and the banner will no longer appear.
We want to be open that we don't have any plans to provide the ability to turn off online payments for an organisation completely.

Thanks for your feedback here, everyone.
While we understand the interest in being able to customise invoices using different tools we want to be transparent that we don't have any plans to further enhance the existing docx template support.
That said, we've now released a new Invoice template editor that'll soon replace the Standard branding in all organisations.
Long-term we plan to develop this feature to allow further customisation and expand it's use to other document types to meet more of our customers needs.
So, though we'll close this idea as we don't hav plans to allow editing of our advanced templates in Google suite - Stay tuned with further enhancements for the Invoice template editor.

Custom templates for invoicing are essential in the industry I work in, to meet invoicing requirements set by the government agencies that pay for the services provided. To be more universally accessible and versatile, Xero needs to offer a solution to customise templates that doesn't rely on a specific 3rd party commercial provider.
I have used other cloud-based SaaS tools that provide an online template editor for cusomising forms and documents to meet company branding and style guides. (e.g. Employment Hero). A similar feature in Xero is needed.
