    all data should be searchable and sortable. The search fields should remain visible at all times.

    Regardless of whether we must rely upon account number or date added, chronology is CRITICAL. Only one of these options is required, but both should work. Until customer or supplier account numbers are created automatically, we need to rely upon date added, so please fix that first.

    Then, the long term goal should be to rewrite Xero so that customer or supplier account numbers are created automatically. The longer this is put off, the greater the technical debt will become.

    Thanks for sharing, Douglas. I see you've posted int he Invoicing forum and I just wanted to check if you're referring tot he Global search (in the blue banner) or the search bar within invoice lists?

    I was referring to the invoice list, but in my opinion, ALL search fields should always be exposed [not hidden behind a button] and the cursor should always default into the search field.

    Hi everyone, there’s been a lot of thoughtful input shared on this idea, and we understand the efficiency and value this could bring for teams working with large or fast-changing contact lists.

    While this request is not in the pipeline, that does not mean the need has gone unnoticed.

    Your feedback continues to shape how we look at these gaps, and we appreciate you taking the time to explain what this would mean for your workflows.

    We know this might not be the outcome many of you were hoping for. This idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to capture support, and we'll make sure to post here if the status changes in future.
