Hi team, we have some updates to share. Before we dive into the details, we want to be clear that while we’re committed to monitoring, learning, and refining the Homepage, we don’t intend to return to the previous Dashboard style or its column-based widget layout.
A few months back, we rolled out several enhancements to the "Edit homepage" capability to give you better control over your layout, including:
- Widgets that remain stationary until they are dropped into a new placement
- A "shadow" preview showing exactly where a widget will be placed during drag-and-drop
- Refined animations for a much smoother visual experience
- Improved on-page guidance regarding how to save multiple layouts across different screen sizes
In addition to the existing size options for Chart of Accounts and Cash In and Out, our team is currently building smaller widget sizes for Invoices Owed to You, Bills to Pay, Chart of Account, Cash…

I spent a lot of time customising my homepage the way it worked for me. Now I have to do it again. I gave up after about 20 minutes because it was not easy to do. The widgets are slippery and sensitive and seem to move where they want to go. The double sized widgets do not fit as nicely as they did before. I cannot display the same information on the homepage as I did before because the widgets don’t fit. This is after deleting the ones I don’t want. So valuable time has to be spent rearranging widgets again and getting used to a new homepage that is no improvement over the last. Will we have to do this again in a few months time when Xero again decides on a new font and new jargon????

Good to hear the value you'd see in having more visibility of GST from your homepage. Thanks for sharing with us here.
Our product teams are paying close attention to the feedback we're receiving through this forum, and I'll let you know if there are any updates surrounding this, here.

Thanks for your idea, Simone. Gosh that is a lot of bank accounts I can see why a search would help. No immediate changes planned for this but I'll share your feedback with our product team and we'll get a sense of others that'd find this useful from your idea, here. 🙂

Hi everyone, we know being able to have more control over widgets on your Homepage will improve our users experience and want to share a quick progress update on where things are at:
Currently the Cash In & Out and Chart of Accounts Watchlist widgets have toggle options for smaller and larger size options.
Right now, our product team is actively working on expanding and improving size optionality (rather than just the ‘larger’ ‘smaller’ selections) to more widgets - This will include the Invoices Owed to You, Bills to Pay, Chart of Account, Cash in and Out and Recent Invoice payments widgets. The approach we’re taking will give you additional size selections for these widgets, and more customisation of what’s shown within the widgets.
Understanding from feedback, that our customers are looking for even more flexibility beyond these size options, our team is continuing to explore further enhancements that'll be…

Please no more changes, I do not want to have to redo my homepage again. It has taken months to reassemble my widgets I do not want to have widgets disappear, have ones I don’t want appear, have features I use and appreciate vanish, have widgets mysteriously change position (as they do now).
Having to readjust to a new set of interface criteria every few months is time consuming, frustrating and counter intuitive to the whole purpose of Xero.
Like so many others, I don’t like the new interface but it looks like Xero is committed to it and it won’t change back to the one that has worked so well in the past. Please let us adjust to this, make it work as best as we can before forcing more unnecessary compulsory change.
My suggestion would be to make all changes optional so those of us who would just like to get on with our work in Xero and not fuss around with cosmetics can do so and those who want the experience of something new and shiny can have fun with the new layout.
Bring back the pre-Feb layout.
