Hi Neilin, I know you've mentioned customising the template, however from the sounds you'd like to change the behaviour of how items within a customer statement is represented?
If so it'd be good to understand more of the reason of why you're wanting to show overpayments as a positive?
If a customer has paid more than expected amount this amount is then a credit on their record and in turn draws down the total amount owed.
Alternatively you may want to be looking at recording as a prepayment?

Every month we have issues with customers asking why their statement received does not reflect their prepayments/overpayments in a credit balance. And every month we waste time trying to explain that Xero just did not think to include this basic feature in the system. I have seen two similar suggestions from many years ago and it frustrates me that it just keeps getting ignored.
I cannot believe that this fundamental concept is still not a Xero feature. I honestly don't think there is enough benefit from using Xero to justify this lack of functionality.
