This requirement also applies to company-card expense claims. Wise and merchants such as Uber can produce several statement lines for one purchase—for example, a $29.92 debit and a $0.23 credit, while the employee submits one supported Xero Expense claim for the final net charge of $29.69. We need to select both statement lines, have Xero calculate the $29.69 net amount, and match the group to the existing expense claim. The functionality must support mixed debit and credit lines, not only several receipts or instalment payments. Fully reversed authorisations, such as a $16.72 debit and matching $16.72 credit, should also be capable of being grouped and reconciled as a nil-net pair. The current workaround requires artificial Spend Money, Receive Money or clearing-account transactions, creating unnecessary work and increasing the risk of duplicated expenses, GST errors and an unclear audit trail.
