This is possibly the worst functionality in Xero and I am amazed that it is still the case. Not just applicable when invoices are processed late, but also when invoices are running through an approval process this sometime can also take time and crosses the month end close - the fact you then have to either open periods or change the invoice date to process it is not acceptable. Having an accounting system where you are effectively pushed down a route of entering false invoice dates surely is a HMRC compliance issue.....
