   Hi everyone, thank you for continuing to share your feedback on invoice subtotals.

   We know this is a feature many of you feel strongly about, and we genuinely appreciate the time you’ve taken to explain the impact on your workflows.

   While this idea has been closely considered by our product teams we want to be upfront that at this point we don't have any foreseeable plans for developing the ability to add subtotals in invoices.

   As previously shared current options that you may want to explore include;

   • adding a description only line for each section where you can reference and explain the subtotals for a section of lines (leaving the Qty & Price blank),
   • exporting the invoice as a PDF and editing it externally, or
   • exploring invoicing tools in the Xero App Store that offer more extensive services

   We know these aren’t ideal substitutes, but they may help bridge the gap depending on your needs. Though this has been moved to Not in pipeline we’ll continue to reassess this idea in future planning and voting for this idea remains open.

   I'm reopening this because I feel the Xero response was a brush-off.

   I like Projects. I try to get my trades clients to use it because I believe in the advantages of job-costing.

   But every trades client refuses to use it because the layout of the quotes is rubbish in comparison to the competition.

   Trades like to show subtotals for various phases of a project. They want the ability to cost the phases individually but show just a total on the quote and invoice.

   How can I push Xero Projects when Tradify, ServiceM8, and even Quickbooks provide a much better looking product?

   If Xero is not listening to what the market wants, why even bother to sell Projects?

   And frankly, your suggested workarounds are an insult to every small business person: we are time poor and just want to get a decent output quickly and efficiently/
