    Hi team, while not an Excel file type this is already possible through the Export, Import features in bills. 

    You can search and export specific bills from the list view, and from the New bill drop down select Import from CSV and drag & drop the file that was downloaded. 😊

  2. I have a large number of suppliers in Xero and it can be hard to keep track of what each of them do. Whilst I can put them into broad categories /groups, that is not enough. I would like to have a 'notes' field on contacts so that I can put some information about each of them (searchable if possible) as well as some notes as to whether they are good payers (in the case of customers) or other useful information. This will also extend the basic CRM functionality that already exists for customers.

  3. Add a tag feature to invoices/bills, which is only visible internally (not for customers/suppliers) and would allow to run ad hoc reports.
    Example - tag sales invoices to sales rep and be able to run reports to see how much revenue that specific sales rep has brought in.

  4. The old journal report allowed one to search for Manual Journals, the new report does not; it would be invaluable to drill down into the new journal report to search manual journals only :-)

  5. We recently had an employee which had a leave type reinstated after a period of over 12 months of it not being used. There was a balance sitting in there for the duration of time that it wasn’t active, and therefore not showing on any payslips that were provided to the employee or filed. We are now in a position that we had to reactive this leave type to be in line with STP requirements and showing leave loading on a separate line. When we reactivated this leave type, ALL payslips for the period of over 12 months were updated…

    Hey Amy, I know it's been a little while since you started your idea here. Taking another read through the situation you described, there are a couple of options which depend on whether you need a record of the adjustment.

    • If you do need a record of the adjustment you'd want to post an unscheduled pay run to reverse out the leave balance for the pay period in which it should have been paid out.
    • In the case you don't need a record, you could simply adjust the opening balance for the leave type within the employee's record.

  6. I'd like to create some customised reports for particular costs and wondered if there's any option to just report on some costs of the business without having to lump all the other ones somewhere

  7. Ability to select a date that says payment is due upon receipt of this invoice. This is "due date" is used just as much as net terms of 30 days.

    Hi community, returning to the idea right now you could enter a Due Date that's the same as the Invoice Date (or set it to whatever the date is when the invoice is being approved and emailed).


    Additionally if you'd like to specify the text that appears (such as 'This invoice is due upon receipt') you could either:

    • Add this into the ' Terms & Payment Advice (Invoice and Statement)' on a Standard invoice template, or
    • Add this text into the Footer of the invoice template on a Advanced branding theme
  8. When generating a sales invoice for new contact to have the ability to add the primary contact name and email so that email can be emailed to primary contact name without editing the contact first.

    Hi community, sorry we've not looped into this idea sooner. You'll now find with new invoicing that you can add a new contact and their details, or edit a contacts details without having to leave the page. 

    When you add a new contact, this'll open the modal for the Contact card and from here you can add the Contact name, Email, Billing and Delivery addresses, and or phone number. 

  9. The image of the supplier invoice is very hard to see. I would like to be able to magnify it so I can view it properly as ATM I proceed to print it which enlarges it and then cancel once I see what I need. Not very user friendly.

    We've rolled out an update to the 'Bills to pay' screen this week that makes some changes to the attachment preview.


    Attachments will now open in a frame to the left of your bills, and you'll have the option to zoom and navigate this preview, or open the attachment in a new window.


    I've included a screenshot of the preview, with the navigation and open buttons highlighted  😊

    Hi Becky, have you explored Tracking in Xero? With Tracking you could use one of your Categories to list all the different cost centres in your business and track transaction cost against each. You'll find many of the reports in Xero can be filtered by Tracking to help you segment and get a view of amounts based on a specific cost centre.

    Hi everyone, super quick turn around here 😁I'm happy to share that the changes for invoice reminders have been pushed live and you should now find invoice reminder emails will include your company logo. This is pulled from the organisation settings, so if you'd like to revise your logo you can do this through the organisations settings page.

  13. On the employees interface it would be helpful to have the number of hours booked showing against the holiday. Currently it only has the dates that have been booked. The hours are shown on the employer interface

    Crossing back over your idea here, Katie it looks like this is actually possible - When an employee taps on the leave request in their Xero Me app, it'll bring up all the details of their leave including the total hours. 😊

    If they're unable to see this, we'd suggest asking them to raise a case with our team of specialists through Xero central who can get a closer inspection to help.

  14. For web orders etc there is no way of adding to the invoice that the order has been paid.
    So an option within the Due Date section to choose 'Paid In Full' would eliminate the customer receiving the invoice appearing as if it needs to be settled.

  16. I have two employees with separate functions in the company.
    One will be responsible for Accounts Payable (Bills)

    the other will be responsible for Accounts Receivable (Invoices).
    How do I set that up in Xero.

  17. On the new reports the cents are always off and when you are reconciling the bank to me as a bookkeeper you want to cents to be included and not having to tick an extra button to say please include. I have noticed the reports have been geared towards accountants and not bookkeepers as all my reports have cents on them however the bank reconciliation report it's just doesn't make sense to me. Or if you could set in your set ups to always include cents and then this stays that way in the entire Xero file that would be…

    Hi team, with little interaction on this idea in sometime and based on the existing options that have been shared we are going to move this idea to delivered.

    To reiterate the options - you can set defaults for accounts, items and contacts to fill fields and save time when entering bills, alternatively depending on your workflow you may also find importing bills from CSV where you can bulk populate account codes for multiple lines on one bill handy.

  20. To be able to filter the History and notes - by the date that the changes were made on something specific and not the date of the original transactions.

    This would be helpful if the Annual Financials have been finalized, and a change has been made after the fact.

    For example: You want to know when the changes toward the 2022 tax year were made, towards the advertising account transactions since a specific date i.e. a date after the financials have already been finalized.

    Sorry we've not updated this idea here sooner, everyone. To confirm this is how the date range filter int he History & notes report works today - Results in the report are based on the date the actioned occurred in Xero, not the date entered on the transaction.

    For a broader view of recent user activity you may also find the assurance dashboard quite useful.

    We appreciate there are other items and actions that our customers would like to see more record of history for and we welcome you to join and/or add any ideas for specific actions you'd like to see entries recorded for.
