    Thanks again, everyone! I can now confirm we've officially released these changes to all users. 🤗

    As a quick recap of what's been released - From the Reconcile page your bank account now shows up to 50 statement lines at once.  There is also a search bar at the top of the page where you can enter details from your statement lines including; Payee, Reference, Description, Transaction type, Cheque No. and Analysis code. Within the search you have filters to help you narrow down the date range or  amounts that you want to reconcile - For more insight on recent changes see our Blog.

    Hi team, back again to let everyone know that the recent changes in Bank Reconciliation page have now been rolled out to 100% of users. 🎉

    As mentioned in my last update this includes a bar at the top of the page so you can search and filter statement lines based on your preferred criteria, and the options to the right side of the Search enable you to set a date or amount range to help filter down your view.😁 You now also have the ability to view up to 50 unreconciled statement lines on one page - See our blog for more recent updates

    We thank you all for your contributions in this idea. I know there are some that are interested in still seeing the ability to sort from this view, and I wanted to share the new idea that's been raised where we'll begin to track this…

  3. The edit contact format has recently been changed and I now have to click through multiple tabs to edit and view contact info. This is much more time consuming. I would like to be able to edit and view all contact info on one page.

    You'll now find a single page for editing contact details, with the added benefit of using the tab selections on the left panel to go directly to your chosen section on the contacts add/edit page.

    Again, thank you for all your comments here - we know this has been a highly anticipated feature for community. Your feedback helps us to continue to shape the future of contacts at Xero.

  4. In old invoicing, you can just drag and drop the file into the window and it uploads. In new invoicing, you have to drop it in the box at the bottom of the page. Fair to say this is tedious!

    Hi team, returning to confirm that the ability to drag & drop files anywhere on the page in new invoicing has now been released to everyone. We hope you find this enhancement helps speed up and make attaching your files more efficient as you invoice.

    Just a reminder that you'll need to add a contact to the invoice first, and if you'd like to include files when sending to your customer, select the 'Attach files to email' checkbox once uploaded.

    We understand some customers workflows mean they would like to attach files before adding contacts and while this isn't something that's available right now, I'd recommend making sure you've joined this idea for any updates.

  5. Please change the new invoicing so when we copy the invoice, the previous contact automatically appears as default

    Hi everyone, we've introduced a change to new invoicing so you now have the ability to copy an invoice to a draft invoice and keep the existing contact. 🙂

    When you select this option, you'll see a pop up where the current contact is selected by default, however you can choose another contact or leave this blank if you'd prefer.

    Hi everyone, returning now a few months on from our last update we're going to move this idea to 'Delivered' with the change the team made to default to include a PDF of the invoice when sending an invoice from Xero when using new invoicing.

    We understand there's a secondary need being asked within this one idea that we'd like to continue to gather feedback and support for and have sprung up a new idea for the ability to default include files attached to an invoice when sending from Xero - If this is what you're after please do join and add your support there too.

    A somewhat similar but slightly different need bought up by some is the ability to auto include specific files when sending from Xero - For example Terms & conditions that have been created as a separate file.

  7. Ability to to show periods of bills that haven't been matched to a Xero project.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your patience. Ability to view bills that have not been assigned to a project is now live to 100% of users.
    To access this feature;

    • Click the 3 dot drop down menu from the Bills list screen
    • Select 'Bills not assigned to projects'

    You'll be taken to a page where you c an select the date range for viewing bills that have not been assigned to a project in your organisation, where you can then edit and assign each bill.
    Alternatively, go to Projects and select Add > Expenses from bill to get to the same screen.On a separate note - taking on your recent feedback I do want to confirm that this feature is limited to Bills at present and does not extend to Sales invoices.

    Hi everyone, we've now released the ability to add a new tracking option within new invoicing to all customers!

    Just like classic, you'll find using the option +Create new tracking opens a modal within the screen that allows you to easily add a new option for that tracking category on the fly.😊

  9. It would be nice if you could flip an invoice or a bill to a credit note of each kind. Sometimes when bringing in data from Hubdoc, a credit note will be pushed as a bill, so if you could basically hit a button to flip it the other way that would be great, same with invoices.

    You may already have seen on this idea, Hubdoc has rolled out support for automatic credit note detection.

    As mentioned by some here, when a credit note is detected by Hubdoc, all you'll need to do is review before publishing to Xero.

    Though there are suggestions for a direct button in Xero, based on this availability through Hubdoc, we're going to mark this idea as delivered.

    Hey community, thanks for your continued interest in this idea. Earlier this year we delivered some updates to reports, so that they’ll now show page numbers and date stamps when exported to PDF.

    This is an idea that was seeded by the community team when we launched Product Ideas back in 2022.

    The Product team has done some great work to address the original request but reading the commentary here, the scope of the idea has grown a bit since then!

    We’re confident that this release solves the original request so I’ll be marking this as delivered.

    There are additional improvements that have picked up some momentum in the comments: to make the date stamp toggle-able, and to extend the field to include time as well. To be open we don't have plans to progress these specific asks.

    Hi everyone, as noted in my recent update Additional notes for a Contact is now live to 100% of organisations.  A quick recap - You’ll find this new feature located at the bottom of the Contact details section, when adding or editing a Contact. It’ll be visible in the Add/Edit screen, and from the right panel of a Contact’s record.

    There are some asks through this idea that go beyond this release such as;

    Hi everyone, we’re pleased to share that we’ve now released working patterns to all UK organisations that use Xero Payroll.

    This change reduces manual workarounds enabling you to enter more information employees’ working patterns to support accurate allocations of leave and earnings rates. You’ll find you can now;

    • Create or select from working pattern templates
    • Add working patterns manually or using the template
    • Setup multiple weeks of a working pattern

    We’ve shared a few videos on YouTube that’ll help guide you through the change 😊

    We really appreciate everyone who’s engaged with us on this idea and those who’ve been involved in testing some of the functionality with us through the journey.

  13. When typing a quote, available stock used to show (when you typed a figure in the "quantity" field (if available stock was less than required the open window would turn red) but it doesn't now. It would be great if this feature were also added to invoices (and quotations as before) so that one didn't need to check stock on a different page for each item being invoiced. I note that it shows when typing a credit note, so it must be possible!

  14. It would be great if Xero could implement an automatic change/suggestion to change to category A after an H-category employee doesn't meet the criteria anymore.
    One of our employees just had his birthday and I noticed the category doesn't automatically update and there's no flag to say they might now be ineligible for a certain code.
    I imagine there are more companies with the same problem where it's gone unnoticed that the National Insurance Category hasn't automatically updated as nearly everything else does and it's easy to miss a birthday!

    Hi community, we've rolled out a change to Xero Payroll (UK), and now Xero will automatically apply the new NI category to a pay run based on an employees birthdate, and if they are entering into a new NI category. Meaning you no longer have to manually track and updates these.

  15. The new invoicing email sends a detailed summary of the invoice as part of the email. We would like the option to opt out for this like the old email template. We like to breakdown our invoicing internally for reporting purposes but the client does not need a breakdown of line items, just a total. We use custom invoicing templates so that we dont show line by line breakdown and the new email overrides this. Please do not switch off the old invoicing module until this is fixed. Downloading an invoice and sending it through my emails is time consuming…

    Hi everyone, we appreciate all the attention this idea has received and while I know this has been mentioned by others earlier in the conversation we wanted to confirm it is currently possible to remove the detailed summary from showing within the invoice email.

    This is controlled within Email settings and updating your email templates for sales invoice.

    If you open your template you'll see an option for 'Include action to online invoice and detailed summary'.

    Having checked in with our team we have no plans for changing this flow in the short term, however this is a one time action so once you uncheck and save the template you'll find this removes this formatting from any invoices you send with the template applied.

  16. New invoicing is missing the ability to select the default due date that is against the customer. I had to change the invoice date for a customer with set payment terms of 30 days from the invoice date and there were several suggestions listed but the old option to reset to default date was missing.

    Quick roll out here 😊 the improvements for the date selector are now live to all users including the ability to Reset to default due date.

    Just remember the default will be based on the setting in the contacts record, or if there is none saved this will default to the options set in your Invoice Settings.

  17. Provide the ability to directly save invoice as a pdf like it did in classic invoicing, rather than opening it in Chrome and then having to click the download button etc, the old way was more efficient.

    Hi everyone, as of today we have released a change to this process. Rather than opening the PDF in a new browser window, now when you click Print PDF in new invoicing the file will automatically download for you to Print from your device. We thank you for your feedback on this.

  18. Filter Compare Tracking Report by second tracking category - run the compare P&L report with the P&L down the left and the categories across the columns but then be able to filter the transactions within this report by the second tracking category.

    Hot anticipation for this idea - We're pleased to share that this change is going live! (If you don't quite have it yet it'll be with you in the next 2 days) 

    If you use Tracking in your org we've added a new 'Compare tracking categories' option on the front page of the newer Profit & Loss.

    While the older version had a limitation of selecting 100 options at a time, the team have doubled this, so now you can select up to 200 tracking categories to view at once.

    In terms of activity 

    • Archived tracking options won't be shown by default but there is a switch to view and select these if you choose.
    • When run, the report is designed to only show columns for tracking options that have had activity within the date range the reports run which should help you zone-in, and get a better view of…

    Hi team, great news! Merge, as I mentioned in my last update is now available to everyone. 


    Go to your contacts All list, select your contacts and you'll see an option to 'Merge' show above - See help in Xero Central


    While it's not possible to merge through import if this is something you feel could really add value, you're welcome to start a new idea and we can view of the support in that, too. 🙂

Notifications on xero to alert you that an employees age has increased due to a birthday, as they may have hit a new age bracket in the wage rates and they could be getting underpaid if not noticed. Example - employee goes from age 20 to 21 this would mean that if they are on the 18-20 year old wage rate and they are on the £7.49 once they turned 21 they should then be on £10.18. so notification of birthdays would help keep you aware of age changes.
