    Thanks again, everyone! I can now confirm we've officially released these changes to all users. 🤗

    As a quick recap of what's been released - From the Reconcile page your bank account now shows up to 50 statement lines at once.  There is also a search bar at the top of the page where you can enter details from your statement lines including; Payee, Reference, Description, Transaction type, Cheque No. and Analysis code. Within the search you have filters to help you narrow down the date range or  amounts that you want to reconcile - For more insight on recent changes see our Blog.

  2. New invoicing has introduced more clicks, taps, steps at almost every level.
    Please remove the added friction as it increases processing time.

    The "new invoicing" messages are full of comments regarding where these pressure points have been added.
    We are paid subscribers, and beta testing/seeking feedback is wonderful, but being forced onto an inferior model is.. suboptimal.

    Hi everyone, thanks for continuing to share and keep us informed of the differing flows and actions that could be improved in how you invoice with Xero. All feedback through these forums and across Xero Central discussions has been shared with our product team and will be carefully considered as we continue to build on your invoicing experience.

    About a month ago we changed the behaviour of how defaults are applied, so now when you copy an invoice for the same Contact their defaults will automatically be applied to the new draft invoice.

    Most recently, and as you may have noticed we've released a new line item grid (where you enter the details of your invoice).     Hi community, we've now released the ability to attach a file to a Fixed Asset to all organisations using the new FA's experience. As mentioned in my last update, the 'Attach files' option is found at the top right when editing an individual asset. You can either select to Upload files from your device or files library, or simply drag & drop files to the upload modal.😊

    We appreciate there are some Australian businesses using pools that are still on the older Fixed Assets experience and won't have access to the Attach files' feature atm. While we complete work to help move you all to the new experience I've created a new idea. Add your vote to stay updated.

    If you'd like to stop using pools this is possible, however it requires you to turn off tax reporting - This does have impact on other aspects of your fixed…

    Hi team, back again to let everyone know that the recent changes in Bank Reconciliation page have now been rolled out to 100% of users. 🎉

    As mentioned in my last update this includes a bar at the top of the page so you can search and filter statement lines based on your preferred criteria, and the options to the right side of the Search enable you to set a date or amount range to help filter down your view.😁 You now also have the ability to view up to 50 unreconciled statement lines on one page - See our blog for more recent updates

    We thank you all for your contributions in this idea. I know there are some that are interested in still seeing the ability to sort from this view, and I wanted to share the new idea that's been raised where we'll begin to track this…

    Hi community, we've now released a new line item grid within invoicing. There are a few changes that come with this release, with the most relevant for you here being the ability to manually add rows to your invoice. 

    While you can still tab through to create a new row, you'll also have the option to click the Add row button to manually add and move blank rows within your invoice. 

    I do want to note, that though you can move blank rows within your invoice, blank rows will be removed when you save the invoice (this is the same behaviour as classic). If you'd like to retain these rows once saved you'll just need to add a character within the Description field for example '.' or '|' will ensure the line is saved with the invoice.

  6. In old invoicing, you can just drag and drop the file into the window and it uploads. In new invoicing, you have to drop it in the box at the bottom of the page. Fair to say this is tedious!

    Hi team, returning to confirm that the ability to drag & drop files anywhere on the page in new invoicing has now been released to everyone. We hope you find this enhancement helps speed up and make attaching your files more efficient as you invoice.

    Just a reminder that you'll need to add a contact to the invoice first, and if you'd like to include files when sending to your customer, select the 'Attach files to email' checkbox once uploaded.

    We understand some customers workflows mean they would like to attach files before adding contacts and while this isn't something that's available right now, I'd recommend making sure you've joined this idea for any updates.

  7. Have less white space on new invoicing as it fills screen. The notes section which is in contacts 4000 chars make visable and editable on the new invoice page so we can see it whilst creating and invoice. We dont then have to keep jumping from one page to the next.

    Hi team, taking a lot of our customers feedback onboard we've just released a new line item grid that encompasses many improvements our customers have been asking for. With this change, our product team have optimised padding, font size and column width, reducing the amount of white space and providing a more compact view. For many customers this means less scrolling and better visibility of the contents of fields like Account and Tax Rate which are now wrapped so you can see the full contents. 

    We value all the feedback we've received from customers as we keep developing this experience. Please continue to add your votes to what matters most to you, our product teams continuously lean into your feedback and trending ideas from the forums here as they plan more improvements.

  8. Please change the new invoicing so when we copy the invoice, the previous contact automatically appears as default

    Hi everyone, we've introduced a change to new invoicing so you now have the ability to copy an invoice to a draft invoice and keep the existing contact. 🙂

    When you select this option, you'll see a pop up where the current contact is selected by default, however you can choose another contact or leave this blank if you'd prefer.

  9. On the old invoices/bills I could type "18/2/23" and it would auto fill 18th February 2023. Now I have to scroll back multiple months to get there. It would be good if I could type in the date field boxes again. Specifically on "Add Payment"

    We're pleased to announce that with our latest update you have the ability to directly type dates when making payments on invoices! We know this was a highly requested feature, and we appreciate everyone who voted and shared their input.

    For those familiar with our Xero Central article on keyboard shortcuts, you'll be happy to know that all those shortcuts are now fully functional in this date field, as well as all other date fields throughout your invoices.

    While a direct dropdown for "yesterday" isn't available, you can quickly enter the previous day's date by typing 't-1'.

    As this update delivers the majority of the changes discussed in this idea, we'll now mark it as delivered.

    We also heard the feedback from some users who prefer to use a full stop (.) as a date separator instead of the forward slash (/) or hyphen (-). There's a specific idea,

  10. The ability to add a tracking code from within the 'new invoicing' bills.
    Classic invoicing has this ability and it would be excellent to have it in the new invoicing also.

    Hi everyone, we've now released the ability to add a new tracking option within new invoicing to all customers!

    Just like classic, you'll find using the option +Create new tracking opens a modal within the screen that allows you to easily add a new option for that tracking category on the fly.😊

    Hi everyone, as of today the ability to show nil(zero) balance accounts in reports is live to all users!

    To confirm, there are 2 ways to turn this on. Either through a blanket selection in the Report preferences, or via a toggle on and off option within the 'More' menu of the following reports;

    • Balance Sheet
    • Profit & Loss (Income Statement)
    • Statement of Cash Flows - Direct Method
    • Trial Balance
    • Cash Summary
    • Movements in Equity
    • Blank report
    • And, Report templates

    As we close out this idea, we want to say a big thank you to everyone that's shared their interest in this with us overtime. 

  12. On the new invoicing, when additional columns are selected, a scrollbar is added to the invoice layout and interrupts the smooth capture process. Having to manually scroll from one side to the other to view details is not ideal.

    Consider either auto-adjusting the column widths or allow for the automatic expansion of the invoice layout width when additional columns are selected. This way, users could view all necessary details without the need for manual scrolling.

    We appreciate everyone's patience as we developed this work. I'm now pleased to share that we've released a new line item grid within invoicing that embodies a lot of changes our customers have been asking for. Most importantly to the idea here, our teams have optimised the padding, text size and columns width to make this more compact so you can see more detail without the need to scroll. 

    You'll also find that all fields now wrap rather than truncating so you can see all the detail of your cell. Thank you all for contributing and engaging with us, here.

  13. xero to xero Invoicing

    We use the Classic Invoicing version on Xero to send Invoices to our inter-companies and clients who are also registered with Xero.

    On 02 Sept 2024 this version will retire and only New Invoicing will be available.
    We are not able to select "send via Xero Network" from the New Invoicing option (using our Xero Network Key).

    Are the technical teams still working on this to have the option available or will this option fall away?

    Hi everyone! Back to share that Xero to Xero is now live within invoicing. Thank you for all your valuable contributions and sharing in product ideas.

    As mentioned in my last update, with the way that we've built this within invoicing we've been able to also enable the ability to include file attachments when sending via the network 😊

    See more details on how to send via a single invoice, or multiple, on Xero Central.

    Right now, this is live to all but Singapore organisations. We're still doing a bit of work to provide this capability to Singapore and I'll update again when available in this region.

    Hi everyone, we’re pleased to share that we’ve now released working patterns to all UK organisations that use Xero Payroll.

    This change reduces manual workarounds enabling you to enter more information employees’ working patterns to support accurate allocations of leave and earnings rates. You’ll find you can now;

    • Create or select from working pattern templates
    • Add working patterns manually or using the template
    • Setup multiple weeks of a working pattern

    We’ve shared a few videos on YouTube that’ll help guide you through the change 😊

    We really appreciate everyone who’s engaged with us on this idea and those who’ve been involved in testing some of the functionality with us through the journey.

  15. When typing a quote, available stock used to show (when you typed a figure in the "quantity" field (if available stock was less than required the open window would turn red) but it doesn't now. It would be great if this feature were also added to invoices (and quotations as before) so that one didn't need to check stock on a different page for each item being invoiced. I note that it shows when typing a credit note, so it must be possible!

  16. It would be great if Xero could implement an automatic change/suggestion to change to category A after an H-category employee doesn't meet the criteria anymore.
    One of our employees just had his birthday and I noticed the category doesn't automatically update and there's no flag to say they might now be ineligible for a certain code.
    I imagine there are more companies with the same problem where it's gone unnoticed that the National Insurance Category hasn't automatically updated as nearly everything else does and it's easy to miss a birthday!

    Hi community, we've rolled out a change to Xero Payroll (UK), and now Xero will automatically apply the new NI category to a pay run based on an employees birthdate, and if they are entering into a new NI category. Meaning you no longer have to manually track and updates these.

  17. The new invoicing email sends a detailed summary of the invoice as part of the email. We would like the option to opt out for this like the old email template. We like to breakdown our invoicing internally for reporting purposes but the client does not need a breakdown of line items, just a total. We use custom invoicing templates so that we dont show line by line breakdown and the new email overrides this. Please do not switch off the old invoicing module until this is fixed. Downloading an invoice and sending it through my emails is time consuming…

    Hi everyone, we appreciate all the attention this idea has received and while I know this has been mentioned by others earlier in the conversation we wanted to confirm it is currently possible to remove the detailed summary from showing within the invoice email.

    This is controlled within Email settings and updating your email templates for sales invoice.

    If you open your template you'll see an option for 'Include action to online invoice and detailed summary'.

    Having checked in with our team we have no plans for changing this flow in the short term, however this is a one time action so once you uncheck and save the template you'll find this removes this formatting from any invoices you send with the template applied.

  18. New invoicing is missing the ability to select the default due date that is against the customer. I had to change the invoice date for a customer with set payment terms of 30 days from the invoice date and there were several suggestions listed but the old option to reset to default date was missing.

    Quick roll out here 😊 the improvements for the date selector are now live to all users including the ability to Reset to default due date.

    Just remember the default will be based on the setting in the contacts record, or if there is none saved this will default to the options set in your Invoice Settings.

  19. Provide the ability to directly save invoice as a pdf like it did in classic invoicing, rather than opening it in Chrome and then having to click the download button etc, the old way was more efficient.

    Hi everyone, as of today we have released a change to this process. Rather than opening the PDF in a new browser window, now when you click Print PDF in new invoicing the file will automatically download for you to Print from your device. We thank you for your feedback on this.

  20. Notifications on xero to alert you that an employees age has increased due to a birthday, as they may have hit a new age bracket in the wage rates and they could be getting underpaid if not noticed. Example - employee goes from age 20 to 21 this would mean that if they are on the 18-20 year old wage rate and they are on the £7.49 once they turned 21 they should then be on £10.18. so notification of birthdays would help keep you aware of age changes.
