New invoicing - Use '.' as separators in the date field
New invoicing - ability to type "." between numbers (like you can in bills) i.e 24.6 then becomes 24 June after you press Tab.
Right now it only seems to accept 24/6, but I'm sure you used to be able to type 24.6 Tab and then it would convert to the date. If you use "." now, it will default to todays date

Understand our customers have different habits when entering dates, Emily. Atm you can use '-' or '/' to separate n umbers in your dates, however as you've found '.' isn't an option. We'll begin gathering interest in this here, and I'll share if there are any updates planned.

Also please add " " (space) as an option too. Account transactions screen of bank reconciliation logic is great.

I can't really believe that you are asking about this and needing people to vote! Just implement it.
When touch typing on a numeric keypad the "." is used just about all the time when entering numbers. The "/" and "-" are not.
There shouldn't actually be any requirement for date separators! 15 years with QB desktop and just typing 301024 gave 30/10/24 (30th Oct 2024 :). Also, didn't need to type "t-1" to get the day before, just the minus key to go back a day.
I do seriously worry about the time it takes to implement basic features with Xero and the total lack of initial thought on how to do it right!

I have been requesting this on the idea for the date entry on new invoicing, however this seems to have been ignored. The date entry needs to be formulated the same as on bills for ease of entry

Already fed this back to Xero a few months ago, really annoying.

I could do this with the old invoicing and with bills, it is very inconsistent to not be able to do it with the new invoicing.
ditto report dates. So hard to get the dates in the boxes.

To date we have always used '.' as a date separator and this is the case in all other areas of Xero so seemed strange to change it on new invoicing.

Some of the newer features/upgrades in Xero now limit the format that can be entered for the date e.g. bank reconciliation 'reconcile' tab, invoicing and fixed assets, or the field doesn't allow you to type the date at all (forces the user to use the calendar).
Please allow any date format to be used in all date fields in Xero. The functionality of the date fields in the 'account transactions' tab of bank reconciliation is perfect - please use that logic)
Suggested formats to allow:
spaces
dashes -
slashes /
dots/full stops .I usually use dots as this is easier to type on the number section of the keyboard but this no longer works and now defaults to today's which is a pain if you don't notice.

New Invoicing: Date selector enhancements only work for the current month. For example, on Feb 1, I cannot enter 01.31 or 31 to get an invoice for Jan 31. I am forced to enter "01/31". This is inefficient. Please provide the date entry as exists in Classic invoicing. For the US, I can enter "01.31" to get Jan 31 in the current year. If I want the prior year, I can enter "12.30.24". I don't want to have to enter "/" as a date separator nor do I want to waste time picking the date from the calendar.

Xero allows "." as a date separator in all modules except for New Invoicing where a "/" is required. This is inefficient 10-key entry. Allow either a "." or a "/".
