Quotes - Remove Deleted Quotes from the All list
Quotes that have been Deleted are marked as Deleted but continue to be displayed in the Sales Overviews. There is no need to continue to display deleted items in the Overviews. They should be removed.

Being quite different features within Xero it's not likely that a change in one would be reflected in the other area at the same time. We will continue to track interest in removing quotes from the all list here and share if there are any updates.

Quotes - Save default Title and Summary for quotes
Would be great to be able to save a default, or even multiple templates, for the Quote TITLE and SUMMARY. We are currently retyping or copy+pasting common quote titles and descriptions for every single quote. Most of our quotes have the same title and a similar description, that could be built into a template or default text if you'd add that feature.

This Idea has been moved to Gaining Support so others can vote and comment on this. We also wanted to let you know that there is a work around for tis idea, you can create a draft quote with all the relevant details and use that as a base to 'copy to' to reduce the time spent filling out the same details. Don't forget to let you friends and colleagues know they can vote on this idea now 🙂.

Auto-Save Quotes While Editing
It would be incredibly helpful if Xero could automatically save Quotes while they are being edited (for example, every 1 minute or after a period of inactivity).
Currently, if a user is working on a quote and experiences a power outage, internet interruption, browser crash, or accidentally closes the window before manually clicking Save, all work completed since the last save is lost. This can be extremely frustrating and time-consuming, particularly for more detailed quotes.
If this functionality does not already exist, an auto-save feature that periodically saves a draft in the background would greatly improve the user experience.

Quotes - Allow customers to accept or decline specific line items on quotes
Include a tick box or similar to allow a customer accept some line items and reject others within a single quote. This is helpful for offering a choice of materials with different price points so the customer can choose how much they want to pay.
Example -
Line 1 - option 1 cost to build a path with high end materials eg paving
Line 2 - option 2 cost to build a path with lower cost materials eg gravel

History and Notes - Links to quotes from Invoice when copied over
Track or link quote to purchase order to bill to invoice. This would allow you to track the full life cycle of a deal

In Classic Invoicing, there was a history and notes link between the quote and the invoice when the invoice was copied from the quote.
At the moment, that same history link isn’t available for quotes copied to invoices in the newer experience. We understand how helpful that audit trail is, especially when you need a clear record between the two transactions, so this is being moved to gaining support for the quote to invoice history workflow.
However, we are happy to say that this is still available in bills copied over from purchase orders , the link is still available above the history section

Invoices - Add a voice-to-text AI assistant for writing descriptions
Please add a simple AI microphone / rewrite button directly inside Xero description fields, such as quotes, invoices, bills, purchase orders and other areas where users need to write item descriptions.
I understand Xero has started introducing AI features such as JAX, but this idea is slightly different. I am asking for a simple feature inside the actual description box where a user can speak naturally, or type rough notes, and Xero turns it into clear, professional wording.
For example, a tradesperson could say:
“Supply and fit grey contract carpet to two rooms, uplift old carpet, dispose of waste, price…

The idea is to allow users to dictate invoice line item descriptions using voice input, with text being automatically captured and inserted into the invoice fields to speed up billing and reduce manual typing.

Quotes - Edit inventory item from within a quote
I would like the ability to edit inventory item costs directly from the quote page, similar to the option available on the invoice page. I don't mean the price on the quote itself, I mean the cost in the inventory. This would save me a lot of time.

Xero Accounting app - Quotes should have the share option
Like in xero mobile app in Invoice we Have option to share Invoice via other apps by getting its Link (Even we can send that link to clients with SMS)
Quote should have similar share option in app.

Quotes - Ability to highlight or bold text in lines

Can you please add the option to highlight text or bold text in line items on the quotes page. We often have multiple people working on/adding to a quote, which is sometimes built over several weeks or even months. It would be great to be able flag another staff members attention to an item or a note left in the line item by highlighting or changing text to bold.4 votesAppreciate your suggestion, Claire. Invoices - Add Delivery due date
Add a field for the date the customer requires delivery. I currently use the expiry date, but if I mark the quote as accepted this date disappears.
This date is crucial for forecasting.

Global discount in Quotes/Invoices.
It would be useful to have a button to apply a discount to all lines in a quote/invoice at once, instead of having to edit them one at a time. Alternately, a global discount line at the end which applies a discount to the whole quote/invoice.
2 votesHi Anthony, it's currently possible to set a discount % for Sales transactions within a contacts record. This default will be applied to both invoices and quotes you raise for that Contact - Does this suit your needs here?
I notice you also mention being able to set a discount for the total of the invoice - we have a separate idea that you may like to vote for across here.

Quotes - Show as Estimate in addition to Quote
We would like the option to provide an "estimate" for our Customers, rather than a quote. In our industry, we don't know exactly what items will be required, until we have started the job. If we give our Customers a quote, they expect us to honour the price quoted. An estimate gives us more flexibilty with the specific items we need to order and charge for.

While this feature is not possible at the moment, you are able to use an advanced invoice template to show the quote name as Estimate. You can then switch between either one of the branding themes for when you want it to show as an estimate.

Quotes - Ability to assign tracking to multiple lines at once
Ability to apply a tracking category to all items listed on a quote rather than having to manually enter the tracking catergory for each item line.
Eg a tick box that would apply tracking category to all, but you could then still change some of the tracking catetgories if needed at a later date.5 votesAppreciate you sharing your idea in the forums here, Ellie. Understand it's not a bulk assign feature like you're asking here, however you may find setting defaults for Contacts useful in your flows here.
You can set defaults for tracking for purchase and sales transactions within a contacts record that'l automatically be applied to lines of your quote when that contact is selected.
For now we'll get a sense of interest from the wider community in being able to assign tracking to your quotes in bulk from the idea here, and I'll share if there are any plans made.

Quotes - New field for Repeating Fees
With so many forecasting app using Xero Invoices & Quotes, we would like to see Quotes get an upgrade. Specifically add fields to show the billing frequency for that line.
This would allow us to build our dymanic quotes in Xero, showing one time fees and monthly recurring ones. Hopefully this could also then auto-create the correct invoice types when accepted. So One-time lines are grouped into one regular invoice and all monthly lines are grouped onto a monthly repeating template.

Invoice - Support macron character for Māori words
Kia ora,
I live and operate in New Zealand, where Xero was first created. With living in New Zealand, we use a lot of Māori words in our everyday lives.
That said, I just created a quote for an upcoming photoshoot which is going to be held in a town in the Bay of Plenty called Ōmokoroa. But fortunately, the marcon that appears above the Ō turns into an L when the quote is exported. Can you please let the development team know about this issue please?

Default filename for quotes should not have spaces and dashes removed
Default "Print PDF" filename for Quote PDF documents should not have spaces and dashes removed from the Quote number text before forming the document file name.
Example: If I enter "Q-5678-9 123 Fail St" into the Quote number field, Xero "grooms" the PDF file name text to be "Quote Q56789123FailSt.pdf"
This creates unnecessary additional work to un-groom the file name every time a quote is printed to PDF.
By comparison, this unnecessary false grooming does not take place when using the Print PDF function for a Xero Invoice.

Show optional CC processing fee in the quote if customer chooses to pay that way. I am currently having to create a new line item and manually calculate CC fees. Would save alot of time if the quote total showed the stripe fee automatically.
