    As shown in the image - If you click on 'Name' to the left of your contacts list you'll see a drop down of options including the ability to select 'Date added' which will re-order your contacts based on the date they were added to your organisation in Xero.

  2. When you are entering in date ranges, you used to be able to press tab once and it would jump from the first date to the second date. Now it takes like 7-8 times. This is an inefficiency that seems to have only started a few days ago.

  3. We use many xero accounts, and for two of them, when accessing the invoice link, the invoice appears first, followed by a "PayNow" card payment option in the top left corner. However, for the other two accounts, the card payment window appears first without the invoice, which causes inconvenience to customers. (Of course, there is a download option at the bottom right.) Please change the settings to make the invoice appear first.The specialist can't fix this, and the different output seems to be a xero system issue. Please fix it soon.

    Hi everyone, within Email Settings you can edit the email template and deselect 'Include action to online invoice and detail summary'. This will strip back the look of the email a bit but this means the pay now, or Review and pay link will stop showing and instead you can just include the link to view the online invoice for your customers.

    If you'd like to have a look at how this appears before implementing in your org, try sending yourself an invoice from the demo company.

  4. Can we please bring back the 'add last items' for an invoice?
    This saved us A LOT of time on regularly customers.
    Not sure why it was removed.

    Hi everyone, i can confirm that '+ Last items' is available when you add a contact in new invoicing and is shown beneath the contact name. The items added will be for the last invoice that was approved for that contact.

    The only exception here is if you have the Invoice only Draft role in which case this feature is not available.

    We're looking at slight improvement to where this is placed on the invoice to make it more noticeable. However, if you have the right permissions and still aren't seeing this option where you'd expect it to appear when invoicing, please raise a case with our team of specialists who have tools to get a closer look and see why this option mightn't be appearing for you.     Please can you display the combined chart of accounts account code with the CoA description in the account column as you do on in the classic view, rather than us needing to click on the description that shows in the column, so the account code then also shows.

    Thanks for the screenshots and feedback here. We've made a lot of changes to new invoicing since first announcing the retirement of classic invoicing. You'll find you can now view both the Account code and Account Name in the Account column when editing your invoices. 

  6. Sales tax code for Products & Services SKUs "Item Name"

    When you export the list of items from Products & Services you get a CSV with the fields:
    ItemCode ItemName SalesUnitPrice SalesAccount SalesTaxRate InventoryAssetAccount CostOfGoodsSoldAccount

    However, there is no field for "Sales tax code" which is used when you're leveraging AutoTax lookup integration with Avalara. Therefore, as we're converting to using AutoTax, we have ~700 SKUs here that we have to manually update ONE BY ONE!!!!

    This is insane. Why is this field not able to be edited in bulk like every other field?

We use a lot of tracking options on our bills and invoices, sometimes we need to refer back to a particular bill in that tracking option for VAT treatment as an example, but the only way I have found to do that aside from opening each bill individually through the list to find the right category, is to run a tracking summary report, select the particular one and check the expenses - it would be much simpler to be able to see the tracking category alongside the bills to pay screen so you can easily open a bill for the…

    Hi team, while not shown directly on each row of the bills list, our new quick view for bills should resolve the needs here. 😊

    By clicking on the eye icon from the list you'll see your bill shown on the right side of the screen and can use the arrows to quickly move through each bill and view the contents including any tracking that you've assigned within your bill.

The changes made to the new bills view is inefficient when when viewing a column, if it is a credit note or had a credit note applied to it the icon creates an indent thus making it harder to follow with the eye. In addition the previous easy to locate yellow icon that did not create an indent has been replaced with a blue icon that blends with other Xero Coloring.

    Hi Fiona, appreciate not way you'd envisaged here, however there has been an update that will help you easily locate your Credit Notes when in Bills. 

    You'll find under the Filter option you now have the ability to filter by Credit Note, Overpayment and or Prepayments which helps quickly narrow down your view to just these documents types. 

  9. Extend the search function under bills to pay to include creation date to help elevate duplication when exporting data to csv file.

    I want to export invoices from Xero to import into a CRM platform to use as a job cost analysis as this is not a function Xero currently has.

    All invoices dated the 01.09.22 will not be input on the same date so there is no way to ensure you have exported all the invoices for the 01.09.22 unless you delay the export. This is not a practical solution for me as I want to assess the profit…

    Hi team, returning to the idea I wanted to highlight that you can currently run the History & notes report which could be filtered for Type = Bill, and type 'created' in the search bar.


    Relating to the ability to identify duplicates - our team are currently working on aa duplicate detector that'll further help with this process, so you'll be able to review bills that have been identified as duplicates and take needed action before exporting - You can stay up to date with work for this on this idea. Just add your vote to receive updates 🙂

  10. We enter bulk bills into the system and can only attached a copy of the invoice after authorised. To upload these signed invoices are time consuming having to open each bill and then drag or attached the copy invoice.

    It would save us so much time if these invoices could be attached directly to the bills in purchase overview instead of having to open every bill.

    Hi team, appreciate it's been a while since this was first raised here. Recently we released some changes to the list view of bills where you can now 'Quick view' your bills from the list view without having to open each individually.

    You'll find by clicking on the eye icon in the list it'll open up a side view of the bill where you can also add attachments 😊

  11. Hi there, we have a suggestion that would help us a lot as we have a lot of tracking categories. Could Xero add a fixed top menu and side menu so that when we scroll up and down we can still see the tracking categories and also what it relates to. Basically freeze the left column with headings and freeze the top column with headings.

    Hi team, with no response we're going to guess this is within reports. If so, with Xero reports you'll find the top row and left column- are now 'sticky', so you can see the headings when scrolling beyond where they'd be displayed. 🙂

  13. NEW INVOICING
    Add default bank accounts for adding a payment. Old invoicing automatically brought up your bank accounts. New invoicing-you have to sort through or search your whole chart of accounts for the bank account/s.

  14. Xero has a guide to pro forma invoices but nowhere in help is explaining how to do this in Xero. https://www.xero.com/uk/guides/what-is-a-proforma-invoice/

    I suggest you create a help page advising users to use Quotes (or possibly drafts) with a custom layout to solve this issue.

    We'll shift this idea across to delivered - As mentioned in my last update there is a section a little further through the guide "How to create a pro forma invoice" that provides a detail on how you could use a Standard invoice template to achieve this. 🙂

  15. Ability to create an invoice template that saves the line items, e.g description, quantity etc
    Instead of having to manually enter the same description for each new invoice created, just save it as a template. Not just as a branding template.

    Hi everyone, as shared earlier here if you have common inventory and services you trade, you can add these as items to your Products and services

    You can reduce the time spent by using the Item column when invoicing to find and select the items you've saved. 

    If you're looking to add 'description' only lines we're looking into this with new invoicing and you can follow updates for this across on this idea.

  16. There are some new features that I like about the new invoicing, like the ability to immediately a new contact. However this is limited to name and billing address, please add the ability to add email address here too!!!

    Hi everyone, we have now made a change to the Contact card in new invoicing which allows you to enter more contact details from the invoice screen. 

    You'll find you can both add details for a new contact as well as edit an existing contact. The fields available from the Contact card include Contact name, Email, Billing address, the option to add a Delivery address, and phone number 😊

    Cairns, I know there are a couple of other ideas you've mentioned in your initial post here too. While we'll mark this idea as delivered for the primary request you may also like to join these ones below for any updates. 

  17. Allow change to email format so that the VERY LARGE $X,*** 'Review and pay' button can be removed - as it can in the Classic invoicing. I have a large client who has stated they will leave Xero, rather than send emails in this format. They find it too aggressive.

    Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback here. Right now it is possible to hide the 'Review and Pay' buttons completely from the Email Settings in the Organisation  settings. From here you can disable the 'Include quick link to online invoice and detail summary' setting to hide the payment buttons entirely.

    Just to note, this does strip back the email formatting so you might like to send yourself a copy to see what this then looks like once the option has been disabled. Thanks

  18. Hi, the new version of invoicing will increase my work load. at present when you open an invoice to approve it, it is easy to select the tracking categories, as it is linked to the client profile. in the new version it does not and you have to go through the list in a drop down!

    Also we have an issue when we change the invoice date. for example and Invoice raised on the 5th Feb should be paid on the 6th March. If we change the invoice date from the 5th to the 4th, it does not change the…

    Thanks for your feedback on the idea here, with the way new invoicing works once you add a contact, any sales defaults saved for that contact in their record will be applied. 

    Adding a Qty or Price for a line will trigger Tracking defaults saved for them to be automatically applied. Similarly this applies to the any default saved for Due Date. If you have saved a due date that is driven by the invoice Issue date you should see this update if you change the Issue date on the invoice. 

    If this is not behaviour that you're experiencing please do raise a case with our team of specialists so we can take a closer look into this with you. 

  19. Immediately after creating an invoice, you approve it, then a series of boxes appears at the bottom of the screen allowing you to receive the payment. Once payment is applied you can send the receipt to the customer. This is ESSENTIAL for accepting cash payments or any payment made at the time of delivery but before sending the invoice. Please add this feature from OLD invoicing to New invoicing.

    Hi Fiona, it's not necessary to send an invoice before adding a payment. Once an invoice is created in new invoicing the default option is 'approve and send' but 'approve' can be selected instead. A payment can then be added and receipt sent, with a similar workflow to classic invoicing.

    Atm there's no way to set the default approve option for an invoice. However, this has been raised as an idea across here if you'd like to add your vote. 🙂
