Xero Me | Expense - VAT from image analysis
It would be great if the receipt analysis tool on expenses was able to identify weather a receipt is a VAT receipt or not based on the inclusion of a VAT number or a VAT amount itemised.

Purchase Orders - Copy to Spend Money or Transfer
Open up Purchase orders to be copied to a Spend Money or Transfer.
Also make all transaction screens the same. The transfer screen still looks like it's from the 90's.

Projects - Default sales tax from contact when creating invoice via a project
This is functionality that used to exist and has just disappeared 01/01/24. When creating a sales invoice from a project it would be useful if the sales tax to apply could continue to default from the customer's record. This prevents mistakes when invoicing customer's in different countries.

Email to Bills - Automate scanning of AWS invoices
AWS Service Invoices must be very common - that is, lots of businesses receive AWS invoices. And yet, the automatic bill scanner cannot parse them; it cannot find the total, or VAT, or anything like that.
I attach a redacted JPG sample, but am happy to provide full PDF ones when not on a public forum.
Please improve your bill scanner to handle these - thank you!

Batch Payment - Support TXT file format
Allow a bank file that is supported by Coutts to allow batch payments to be made.
8 votesHi Iain, having a quick search it appears that Coutts accept 2 file type formats, TXT and CSV.
It is currently possible to export a CSV file from batch payments - read more on Xero Central.
I've slightly adjusted the title of your idea here to request TXT format, however want to be open that we don't have plans for developing new file formats for batch payments at this time.

Projects - Bulk update staff charge out rate
The ability to bulk update staff charge out rates in Project Tasks. Running many projects and therefore many many in progress tasks. Needing to duplicate a task and create a new charge rate is both tedious and cumbersome. Unless you export to excel and manually change data, you are unable to get an accurate snap shot of the financial status of the project as charge out rates are outdated. Currently when exporting invoices, I am needing to individually update staff rates to reflect the current times.

Payment Services - Collect ACH debit payments through Stripe
Please allow us to collect ACH direct debit payments through Stripe, and not force us to use a 3rd solution (GoCardless) for that.
Stripe offers direct debit ACH when sending invoices directly from Stripe. There is no reason it shouldn't be available through Xero.

Credit Notes - Show the invoices/bills the credit is allocated to
Automate the showing of which invoice or bill a credit note has been applied to.
I work across about 20 businesses who use XERO. All waste time when the customer or supplier allocates credit to a different source document to my client. A way to avoid this is to automate the display of which Invoice or Bill a CN has been applied to, in the email templates and attached PDF's.
XERO potentially currently works on the idea that a CN is applied to the Bill or Invoice the credit was derived from - but in practice this doesn't always work,…

Contact | Note that Purchase Order Required
The ability to flag a customer as "purchase order required". We have a growing number of customers who won't pay us unless we put a purchase order reference on the invoice. It would be good if we can have a flag in the customer that says they require a PO and therefore when we raise an invoice to them it pops up a reminder message.
11 votesAppreciate the feedback here, everyone. As noted in my last update - we released a notes feature in the contact record that enables you to add editable notes (up to 4000 characters) that are visible when viewing the contacts record.
At this stage, we don't have any plans around pop up notes similar to what's being asked on this idea, however understand this is really what's needed to help solve for your idea here.
For now, we'll shift the idea back to submitted and continue to track the interest. If there are any other developments that could help achieve what you're asking we'll share this with you all, here.

Invoice Reminders - Disable until Bank Reconciliation is up to date
I really dislike getting payment reminders for bills that were paid on time! I find it stressful and although it is usually because the sender of the automated reminder has not done a recent reconciliation it still takes time to check. I think that Xero should make it impossible to send a reminder until the reconciliation for that period has been completed. Then they would not have to include the message " If you've already paid it, please ignore this email and sorry for bothering you" Simply don't send it in the first place!

Bills - Give approvers access to limited suppliers
Xero access - Limited permissions for approver
In the process of bills approvements we need the approvers to have limited access to suppliers (if they can access xero currently access allows them to see everything on the system). For example:
approver A has limtied access to supplier B
Approver C has limited access to supplier Dapprover A could not see information regarding supplier D and approver C could not see information on supplier B.
This would help us to avoid having an extra software that handles approvals when everything could be done through xero.

Bills - Add total bill and total GST column amount
bills summary screen - Add Total Bill Amount and Total GST to the Column Chooser and make the settings persist accross all Bills Tabs for the speciofied User and Organisation.

Invoices - Feature for recording and assigning unbilled charges
Ability to create a record work done for a customer/client as a unbilled/delayed charge that has a pop up notification when an invoice is been created for a customer/client. Xero has a record of billable expenses but amounts on invoices are not always linked to a billable expense or time record.
This will avoid multiple invoices been issued to customers/clients and eliminates the possibility of "forgetting" to bill a customer/client for work done.
Quickbooks Online has this feature which is extremely useful.

Quotes - Ability to create multi-section quote
Multiple sections in a single quote with their own separate totals.
Purpose: when quoting on similar products with different pricing to present to a client, with their own separate totals. Currently, we have to send a separate quote to the same client which means they're receiving multiple emails from us.

Project - Feature to use a Task to add cost variations
The ability to add a Project (Revenue) Variation would be a huge help.

Purchase Orders/Quotes - Remove Deleted PO's and Quotes from Sales & Purchases Overviews
PO's and Quotes that have been Deleted are marked as Deleted but continue to be displayed in the Sales and Purchases Overviews. There is no need to continue to display deleted items in the Overviews. They should be removed.

Expense Claims - Option to adjust the tax amount
Possible to manually adjust the tax amount on the submitted expense claims?
The tax amount is not adjustable to match the actual tax amount reflected on bills/receipt especially for decimal difference.6 votes -
Invoices - Create APCA or ABA files from recurring invoices
As a DE User we would like to be able to upload a file to the bank creating the direct debits associated with subscriptions or payment plans. (The converse of the supplier payment batch file.)
The functionality exists already, including the space for the client's BSB and Account number; and the capacity for "strip invoicing" so this should be a relatively quick and easy job.6 votes
