  1. Allow users to put in mileage claims at a nil rate per mile.
    This would allow the invoicing team to pick up mileage to charge to clients that is not claimed by operational staff: for example, where operational staff have a vehicle provided by the company.

  2. Xero made a lot of noise about how good the 'new invoicing' feature would be. Users gave plenty of feedback early on when new invoicing was optional, both in comments and by not switching over to new invoicing. Xero proceeded with the change seemingly unaware of the negative mood amongst users to the new invoicing feature.

    The product ideas section show, only in it's first 5 pages, 43 product ideas about new invoicing. Many of these product ideas are requests for previously available features to be made available again. Many of the ideas are under consideration or being worked on.

    Appreciate your feedback, Martin. I can assure you throughout the build of new invoicing we have engaged and tested out features with many different users. To keep customers informed throughout we have shared blog posts and regularly update our Xero Central page with what's been delivered and what's to come.

    Being such a widely used feature, we have focused on features that suit majority of our customers needs. We appreciate some customers still want to see more development and we are continuing to enhance this new invoicing experience.

  3. If a client has overpaid an invoice, or paid an invoice that has been voided/credited, when Ihave reconciled the incoming payment as an Overpayment, I would then like to be able to create a Bill from this payment so that the refund it sitting in Bills Awaiting Payment.

  4. On classic invoicing, when you click the account category space or the tracking category it would fill in from the contact default, or account default or some default. But on new invoicing it only fills in if you tab.

    Thanks for the added detail, Becky. This is good to know when sharing back with the team. While this may be something we look closer at down the line, I want to be open that we don't have direct change planned in the near term.

    Understand it's a few more clicks at present, potentially to save tabbing 8 time clicking on the Tax Rate column and then tabbing once may save a little time atm. Completely get it's not a resolve though.

    Account Team - Is it possible that this would be when you're copying an invoice to a new draft invoice? If so, and you select the same Contact defaults aren't automatically applied and you'd need to remove and re-add the contact on the new draft invoice to trigger defaults to be applied.   5. You should be able to create a Bill Credit note directly from the FILES folder of your profile. This way when you go in to check the Credit note, you can create it straight away, rather than have to go out, in to Bills, and then have to create it from there.
    OR when you send an 'invoice'/attachment through to your draft bills, you should be able to change it to be a bill credit note rather than a bill

  6. In new invoicing the drop down issue date is today or tomorrow. I suspect "Yesterday" and "end of last month" would be helpful for lots of businesses who bill the day or month after a job is finished.

  7. When entering after Qty field, amount is pre filled with 0.00 and when you type, it will put the amount after e.g 0.00120 instead of 120.00. Please remove the pre filled zeros as with classic invoicing and keep the new invoicing in line with everything else in Xero like bills and spend money etc. It is too different!😒

  8. We have monthly invoices and we have multiple lines, sometimes 100+. With the new invoicing, the approve button is at the top of the screen and I have to scroll to the top every time I got to check the total prior to approving. Can you please make the 'approve' ribbon fixed at the top of the screen when you scroll down?

  9. Business snapshot - link to default custom Profit & Loss Report

    We use a custom Profit & Loss Report which is default.
    Unfortunately the Business snapshot links to the standard xero Profit & Loss Report not the custom default Profit & Loss report.
    Can the Business snapshot be changed to link to the custom default reports?

  10. Our work is often quoted at the project level, with invoices being issued monthly for the duration of the project until the quoted amount has been paid and the project completed.

    Currently, we create the quote, and then subsequently create invoices - manually keeping track until the quoted amount has been invoiced, at which point we mark the quote as invoiced.

    It would be helpful if;
    - We could split the quote into N invoices automatically with the total invoiced amount over N invoices equalling the amount in the selected quote.

  11. In New Invoicing can the Date field be left blank when in draft status as per previously. Regularly I create draft invoices and want to continue to be able to leave the date blank or to put tentative dates in before moving forwards int he process.

  12. When Xero are emailing out their invoices please can you go back to attaching the invoices as a pdf as it quicker to be able to forward them rather than having to sign in and save them as draft, especially when you are having to do loads for clients.

    Thanks for sharing back on this, everyone. We'd like to confirm the way the options works now when sending in new invoicing - This is triggered by previous behaviour.

    So, when you send using new invoicing, the selection for 'Attach PDF' is driven by the last invoice you sent. If the last selection was unticked the next invoice you send will automatically be unticked, and vice versa.

    What's worth noting is that this is a browser based setting. For example if you change computers or browsers your setting will revert to default where both options are unticked. As you'll see from my recent update on this similar idea this is something we may explore further down the line but we don't have any immediate changed planned for.

  13. Currently when creating batch payment files, multiple bills to the same payee are combined into a single line with only one set of bank payment details (although they appear separate on the batch payment screen in Xero).

    Sometimes different bank reference details are needed for each payment, and sending the details in a remittance advice is inappropriate - it would be helpful if the lines could remain separate rather than combined so that unique bank reference details could be added against each line for the same payee

  14. Can we add a function to import purchase order from excel file? We have had it as import bill already, but it is not enough because we need to use the PO function in Xero. However, it is time consuming and many mistakes due to manually entering our PO. It would be great if we can import from excel for both bill and PO function.

  15. It would be useful if when manually adding an expense to a project, there could be a description box available as well as entering the expense name. We sometimes need to elaborate on those costs for the numerous people looking at that expense but there is no-where to put this information unless it's added to the expense name.

  16. Rows on invoices - On the new invoicing manually adding rows is cumbersome for a mechanic business suggest making more than 1 row on the invoice. I rarely have an invoice which is less than 6 rows.
    Font size- Font is very small and should be increased to at minimum 12pt.

  17. Massive oversight by Xero.
    E-Invoicing only available to VAT registered companies as you have to enter a VAT number. What about all the non-registered companies?
    Why can't you select that you aren't VAT registered and be able to benefit by E-Invoicing?

    Hi everyone, we appreciate interest from non-VAT registered businesses that would like to make use of the efficiencies eInvoicing brings.

    As the UK do not have a standard business number, this create complexity in being able to identify and register non-VAT registered businesses on the Peppol network.

    While this is an idea that we'd like to continue to gain interest from our community in, we want to be upfront we don't have any plans to support eInvoicing for non-VAT registered businesses in the near term.

    We're actively advocating for this with the UK Government as part of their recent e-Invoicing consultation.

It would be great to apply the Customers general discount (as set on their Contact Card) to only specified product items, not all product items. e.g. I don't want the Customers discount applied to say my Freight or Labour product items, but I do want to apply it to other products items we are selling.

    I would envisage a Tick Box on each Product card that we can tick, or untick, for the Customers Discount to be applied to it (by default it would be ticked to apply the Customers Discount).

  20. If an item has been billed manually or your stuck with some items in billable expenses you have to open every bill and remove the client from the items that are have not been billed.
    Could you add a tick box selection in the Billable Expenses - Outstanding so that you can then select a remove billable expenses from multiple bills in one go.
