  1. We run multiple branches out of one Xero ledger. We find the income and expenses by contact report very handy to track sales data, however it would be much more useful if we were able to filter by tracking catagory (for our instance we track branch locaiton).

  2. When using any report, when drilling down into more detail is great BUT there seems no way of then returning to the original report without re-running it after you have finished reading the drilled down info? Or have I missed something.

    Would be good to get an example of a specific report you're drilling into, Lyn. You should be able to click the back button on your browser to return to the previous page / report you're on.

    Alternatively, right click and opening the drill down figure in another tab may also be useful here 🙂

  4. Thanks for adding this feature. I'm trying it and I noticed that if you copy and paste a value with a $ in it, it will not paste properly. Sometimes when you copy paste opening or closing balances from PDF it copies including the dollar sign.

    Please allow to paste the value with the $ in it.

    Also, there doesnt seem to be any way of deleting a draft period. Please consider adding a small garbage bin icon in the period list and inside the period.

  5. We need to be able search for items which have no account or account code allocated to them in error. There is no way to search for 'unallocated Accounts' under account transactions.

    Hi Charlotte, appreciate your idea however need a but more information to categorise and share with the right team. Is there a type of document you're looking for this information in? For example sales invoices, or bills?

  6. As a bookkeeper, I want Xero to support bank feeds for my company’s Certificate of Deposit (CD) savings accounts. My financial institution (Chase) sends data on my CDs to the Xero feed, however, Xero ignores the CD accounts in feed. CDs are supported by other FinTech companies with similar feeds, and should be a low effort feature for Xero to implement.

  8. We have standing orders set up for multiple properties for water rates, business rates, electricity and rent all of which are invoiced quarterly/six monthly/annually.

    Can we have the ability to create bank rules for supplier overpayments to a contact??

  10. This report is great, I love it but we need to be able to customize it more. When you try and add columns it gives a message saying that you have to delete the total column first, then you need to manually add a total column which isn't the end of the world, but you can't select the the new total column in and of the formulas, like if I wanted to add the variance column (Which I would love to) but I can't.

  12. Reviewing VAT Returns

    I don't know if it is just me, but when I am reviewing VAT returns and looking at the transactions, as I scroll down the screen I can lose track of what VAT rate I am looking at if there are lots of transactions.

    Would it be possible to add a column or a header that states the VAT rate on the transaction schedule that remains visible on the screen as you scroll?

    Scrolling up and down to check or locate specific VAT Rates wastes a lot of time.

  14. A flag which shows when the profit & loss figure plus brought forward retained earnings does not add up to the retained earnings on the reports. This is usually due to a mapping issue where a figure is causing a transposition error. It only seems to flag if you opt to include a statement of changes to equity. Seems like there should be a more obvious flag for this issue to ensure it is not missed.

    Also perhaps a reconciliation between the profit & loss figure in the company accounts versus the Xero business, appreciate this is likely to be…

  16. It could be a glitch or just how the reports work, but Voided Invoices that were voided with a currency value in them, appear on the Receivable Invoice Summary with that value. So Invoice INV-45831 was for £123.00 but was voided. You can now no longer edit that invoice and in this report it eternally has the value of £123.00.

    This is an issue as the data is downloaded to extrapolate many different analysis for sales data.

    A bad fix after the data has been downloaded is to try filter and take out the ££ and change the data after…

  18. Ive moved form Quickbooks to Xero (I guess this is common).
    Xero does not accept bank feeds from Macquarie Banks - Offset Accounts.
    It's very frustrating to manually have to import bank statements every month and I would love if they could please collaborate so it can occurs. It makes it tedious for my business and I lose hours trying to do it every time.

I would like to be able to edit an entered transaction, i.e., transfer, payment, etc. When I am reconciling, some transactions are posted on the following month, but they were entered at the end of the prior month this creates a problem when reconciling. All I need to do is edit the date and change it, but I have to remove and redo the transaction. This is extremely time-consuming.

    Also, could we change the bank account when we enter the transaction in the wrong registry instead of removing and redoing it?
