  1. The Executive Summary is a very informative report. However, to get meaningful trends, it needs to compare more than just the previous month to determine the true direction of the trend. A three or 6 month trend (or agianst planned numbers for the period under review) would add greatly to the value of the report

    1. individual PNL for each month in the current year - Jul/Aug/Sep etc
    2. a YTD total for the current year, and
    3. a YTD total for the previous year to enable comparison with 2.

As an adviser to many small businesses this is the report that I (& I expect most advisers) are really looking for to help our clients

The current reporting does not enable us to have the management discussions with clients as easily as it should.

All the information is within the software, so it is…

  3. I think it would be beneficial to be able to add commentary to the management report so that variance analysis can be explained to the owner of the business / interested parties (i.e. investors, banks) rather than just presenting a set of figures.

We want to update you that we've launched the new management report pack to all regions, which you'll have the ability to add commentary to your report through a text block to accompany tabular report data, or a whole blank page containing text - see our article here for more information.

That being said, I'll mark this thread as 'delivered' 😄.

  4. On the management report it would be nice to have more flexibility with the way it is laid out. On the front cover for example we would like out logo to sit in the middle of the page at the bottom whereas at the moment the logo doesn't even go on the front cover.

Also we would like to be able to enter a footer on to the front cover which doesn't sppear on the rest of the pages.

Is this something that we can do that we just don't know about? If not please can you look at including…

I want to update you that the new management report pack is now released to all regions! You're now able to apply all of the customisations which are available in our other new style reports, to the same reports within a pack.

In saying that, I'll move this thread as 'delivered' 🙂.

  6. Would you please create a General Ledger Detailed Report so that we can have a nice Xero standardized report instead of having to export to excel and print from there.

We need to send this report to clients, and it isn't very attractive at the moment - printing from excel.

Hi everyone, 100% appreciate everyone wanting to hear from us in the idea here! We've made big strides with reporting across Xero and have more improvements in store.

We've put a lot of focus into the Account Transactions report, and with options to include all the detailed columns as the General Ledger Detailed report, as well as have a running balance you can create the report you're after in Xero, or exported to be able to share with clients.

Once set up, Save your report as custom, and if you think you'll often access it you can Favourite to jump on in, anytime! 😊

  7. Would love for the Cash Summary report to be able to be sorted by Account Code (like the P&L can).

Hi everyone, we're now happy to say that the enhanced Cash summary report is now released, which has the ability to sort by account code.

To do this, you can click 'More', then tick 'Account codes' checkbox. Once this is done, you can also save the report as 'Custom' if using account code is your preferred layout, so the next time you open the report, you don't need to tick the checkbox again - see our article for more information.

Thank you for your feedback here everyone, we'll mark this request as delivered so the votes will return to you all 🙂.

Hi community, rounding back on the idea here we have just released the new General Ledger Detail report which includes the ability to view by Date and now also add Journal ID as a column within the report.

Once you've got the report set up how you like, save it as Custom to return to this same layout whenever you need. 🙂

  9. Adding date paid column into Receivable Invoice Summary report.

Purpose: To make users’ easier when doing the calculation of average days paid by each customer.

Hello community, we’re happy to let you know that you’re now able to add a date paid column in the Receivable Invoice Summary report. To see the date paid column in this report, you’ll need to tick the ‘Last Payment Date’ option under Columns.

Thank you for raising this idea, we’ll now move this to ‘delivered’ status

  10. It would be really helpful to be able to amend the account codes and tracking codes etc on an invoice that has been paid (this is possible for a bill!). It's quite cumbersome to unhook the spending and re-reconcile, especially when items need amending that are quite complicated

Hi community, rounding back from my last update - Credit Limits are now available to everyone within the Aged Receivables Summary report! 😊

💡You'll see a common format in the left side bar or  can customise the general report to include Credit Limit and Available Credit as columns within your own layout - More detail on the report here

  13. When you change report settings on the Account Transactions (NEW) report to "Group By Account Code", you don't get the option to "Show Open and Closing Balances" or a "Running Balance" unlike the default option of "Group By Account". We use Account Codes more than Account for locating transactions and having the running balance and open / closing balances would make the report more useable.

Hi team, thanks again for all your feedback on the design and how you use tracking in your Profit & Loss.

As mentioned in my last post - we've just  released a change to add the option to 'Compare tracking categories' from the main view in report settings, so you no longer have to jump into the layout editor. It's in the process of being rolled out to everyone, so if you don't quite have it yet it'll be with you in the next day or two. 😁

Once you've got the report set up as you like, if this is a view you'd like to use on the regular save as custom, and you could make this the default if you like, too!

  15. Hello,

Currently the report is sorted alphabetically by Contact name. It would be good to be able to sort the contacts by the column headers (e.g. by the month or the total).

That would help users to isolate rank their expenses and target where they should focus their effort to optimise costs.

    Thanks

  16. Please allow the account transactions report to show even if there are no transactions for the specified period. i.e. the report will simply show the opening and closing balance.

This is very important if you are reconciling/consolidating various accounts of which some have movement and some don't. Without the accounts balances for all accounts (inc those with no movement) it will not agree.

We've had a lot of development across Xero's reports, and everyone will now find we've provided options of which accounts to Include when running the report - those with Only transactions, transactions or non-zero balances, or All including zero balances!
I know this has been in hot anticipation here, thanks for all your sharing in the community on this. 😊

  17. The Income by Contact report would be able to do this if filters were added so that it could be customised to include nominal code filters.

It would be good if you could launch a direct bank feed integration with Virgin.

Hey everyone, since our last update here you'd have heard of the new EU banking industry standards, which changed the way third parties access data from banks. As a result, Yodlee bank feeds which previously connected Xero with EU and UK banks are no longer available.

Instead, each UK bank is required to develop a gateway or API (Application Programming Interface) for accredited third parties to connect to in order to access bank account information, very similar to the direct feed that you've requested here.

We're pleased to let you know that this feed is available in Xero for Virgin Money, Clydesdale Bank, and Yorkshire Bank. If you have any questions about the feed or how to set it up, check out our support article here, or contact our support team for one-on-one help.

I'll go ahead and mark this request as delivered accordingly 😄

  19. Ability to filter Account Transactions report by only Description. Currently description contains both the contact name and line description.

Didn't take long to round back 🙂 - Invoice # and Contact fields are now live in the Account Transactions report.

When you next run the Account Transactions report, you'll find options to add either of these fields as \columns to the report, or group/summarise and filter by either of these fields.

  20. Hi,
When clients run the cash summary report - they often select Period - 1 month, then compare with - previous 11 periods.
This report can be run at any stage throughout the year showing the previous 12 months (showing each month on its own column to track trends etc) on a cash flow basis (P&L reports not relevant if there is equipment lines, drawings, tax payments etc).

Most of my clients run this report regularly as it 100% focuses on the cash, showing cash movements during the period.

My issue with running this report is that it only gives…

We wanted to let you know that we've released the improved Cash summary report, where you can now select more flexible date range by clicking the 'Date Range' field, then choose the comparison period from 'Compare with' column.
To get the full picture on how this new feature works, check out our video here!

Note that if you need to add a total column into this report, you can use the layout editor then add a formula that you're trying to get.

Lastly, we really appreciate your input here, so we'll mark this request as delivered.
