BAS - Automatically attach BAS report to draft Bill
When you lodge BAS using Xero automation, it creates a draft Bill. My idea is that the BAS report the bill is based on, is also uploaded to the draft Bill as an attachment.

Reports - Add reports for eInvoices
Hi Xero Support,
We've been generating individual e-invoice from Xero/Invoici for months, however, we could not find any report on e-invoice generated through Xero/Invoici.
This report could help us in ensuring accuracy of the data exported to MyInvois portal. We would require a specific report on the generated individual e-invoices to make sure that they tally with the sales invoices report from Xero.
Thanks!
3 votesThanks for sharing this valuable feedback about your experience with e-invoicing.
We've reviewed your idea for a dedicated report on generated e-invoices. We understand how this would be crucial for ensuring the accuracy of data you export to the MyInvois portal and for tallying with your Xero sales reports.
Your suggestion is now open to gain support from the wider community. Along with votes, others can now comment to share how an e-invoicing report could improve their own reconciliation and data validation processes. 🙂

Invoicing - Reduce steps from Reference to Item field
Re: New Invoicing - Reduce Number of steps and clicks (The original thread has had comments turned off, so I can't comment that it has made more steps, not less...)
What has happened here...it is now taking eight tab clicks to get from Reference Number to the first box to input the item code...last week it was six...so the number of click has increased, not decreased.
Also, when inputting an item code, I have multiple codes that have the same base code with different suffixes...is there are way to just get it to the shaded part that you select the…
5 votesThanks for taking your time to start a new idea with the specific flow you'd like to reduce steps in, Lynette. Just to check it sounds like you may be tabbing from the Reference field to the Item code field - Would this be correct?
Being upfront this isn't something we have further changes planned for in the near term but it'll be good to gauge the interest from community around this, here.🙂

Colour Code Chart of Accounts
Would it be possible to add a feature to colour code our chart of accounts - especially expenses? When I am at the petrol station adding a receipt for a fuel purchase, it would be great to scroll down to a colour (with the account number). Another idea would be to have a favourites for expenses - we could add the ones we use most often.
Thanks from a small business owner.2 votesThanks for sharing, Timothy.

Reports - Common date for next month
When reviewing reports (e.g., Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet), we often need to view monthly data from the start of the fiscal year up to the current month. Right now, we have to manually select the first and last day of each month every time, which is time-consuming and repetitive. This makes simple tasks like flicking through months to verify data more cumbersome than necessary.
- Add “Previous Month” / “Next Month” buttons These buttons would auto-update the report’s date range to the previous or next full month.
Example: From May 1 – May 31, clicking "Next" moves the report to…
2 votesThanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Idea's, Jessica. We appreciate you taking your time to share changes that would be most meaningful to you.
We don't have any plans for adding more common date options in reports atm, but we'll begin to get a feel of the interest in this from your idea.

Batch payments - Option to export Batch Payment Summary report to .CSV file.
Currently there is the only one option to export Batch Payment Summary report to PDF format.
That report is coming with the vendors listed randomly without any order.
Usually I forward that report to the owner along with 'aba' file for payment processing, and the report with vendors listed in alphabetical order will be very helpful.
Exporting the report to Excel will solve the sorting problem.
Thank you very much,

3 votesHi Irina, thank you for this excellent suggestion.
We can see how being able to export the Batch Payment Summary report to a .CSV file would make it much easier to sort and manage before sending it on for payment processing.

Bank Feeds - Request for bank feeds for ABN AMRO Bank
Please instate bank feeds for ABN AMRO bank (the Netherlands). I joined Xero for its highly automated systems. Now I still have to download and import bank statements manually.
It adds insult to injury for the fact I have to sign up to a premium plan to be able to account in a mere two currencies. For small traders like myself with low turn-overs and no need for the majority of features larger companies need, this feels deeply inappropriate and unfair. (another idea about this topic is already live elsewhere)
8 votesHey everyone, thanks for the support on this idea.
While our Open Banking connections in the EU currently cover only Denmark and Ireland, you can still keep your ABN AMRO transactions up to date in Xero by manually importing your statements.
We'll keep en eye on the support for this here, and let you know of any updates in this area. Thanks for taking the time to share!

Bills - Add 'Make Payment' option available in Canada for 'Bills'.
In Canada, 'Make Payment' button is not available in 'Bills'. It would be nice to make payment directly from the Bills instead making payment from the bank.

Fixed Asset Reconciliation report - Hide accounts
I would like to be able to hide accounts on the Fixed Asset reconciliation report so that I don't have a page full of Fixed Assets accounts that have no assets attached, and haven't been used for years.

Bank Feed - Investec (UK)
Currently, Xero facilitates bank feeds with Investec (South Africa) although does not allow bank feeds to be setup for the UK & Channel island branch - This connection needs to be setup.
25 votesHi everyone, really appreciate you sharing this idea.
We see how a direct feed for Investec (UK) would create a smoother workflow and save you time when reconciling.
In the meantime, the best option is to bring your transactions into Xero by manually importing your statements.
A direct feed for Investec (UK) isn't on our immediate roadmap right now. However, we're keeping this idea open for voting to see how much interest it gets from the community. Every vote and comment helps us understand the demand and prioritise what's most important to you all.

Account transactions report - Comparatives
Essential for cash flow and projections, an annual report divided by month that includes source and base currencies.
The "Account Transactions" report currently enables us to overview all accounts (Balance Sheet and P&L) in both currencies (source and base) but lacks a feature to display 12 months alongside each other.
4 votesWe're grateful for your engagement and letting us know how adding comparative options in the Account Transactions report could benefit you.
This isn't something we have direct plans of right now, however we'll continue to gather community interest in this and share if there are any updates.
In terms of cashflow projections, if not already you may want to check out Short term cashflows with Xero Analytics.

Dashboard - Show current exchange rates on dashboard
It would be useful to be able to see today's exchange rates on the dashboard - I use information on the dashboard to prepare a weekly report and it's annoying to have to go to another screen to display exchange rates which also form part of my Excel report.
2 votesThanks for sharing this suggestion for the Xero Dashboard. We understand that when you're preparing regular reports, having all the key information in one place can be a real time-saver.
We've reviewed your idea to be able to see today's exchange rates directly on the dashboard. We can see how having this information readily available would streamline your weekly reporting process.

Bank Feeds - Direct feeds for Griffin Bank
Are there any plans to include Griffin Bank for automatic bank feeds soon?

Manual Journal page - TAB after date should go to auto reverse date
Come on Xero, this should be the flow already, the tab position after entering the date should go to the reversing date, we accountants enter a lot of manual journals that are reversed and it is a pain in the **** to have to mouse click on the auto reverse date to be able to enter the date...
This is a easy fix, this is just the tab index in the page...
3 votesThanks for sharing this great idea, Leandro. We can see how changing the keyboard tab order on the Manual Journal screen would make entering reversing journals more efficient.
We've moved your idea to the 'Gaining Support' stage. This means it's now visible to the wider Xero community, who can vote and add comments to show their support. This collective feedback is a key way our product team gauges demand for new features.
While your idea is gaining support, we wanted to share a couple of other related ideas that you and other supporters might be interested in:
- There's an existing idea to have the reversing journal automatically update when the original journal is edited. You can find it here: Manual Journals - Editing journal with auto-reversal to update related journal/s
- For a potential workaround in the meantime, some users explore third-party browser extensions which can offer more customised keyboard navigation.…

Sales invoice - Choose where to save pdf when downloading
I would like to be able to 'print' or 'save' a pdf invoice to a folder of my choosing rather than to the default 'downloads'
Currently ALL downloaded items from the internet are placed in 'downloads' so I need to move the invoice pdf to my chosen folder. It would be a excellent time saver if I could choose my own folder to save to, and have it use this chosen folder each time.I believe it is a software bug to rely on the default settings of the users browser to determine where files are saved to.

Invoicing - Insurance / Surcharge Line at Bottom of Invoice
Summary:
Allow users to add a dedicated surcharge (e.g. insurance, card fee, handling) that appears as a distinct line below the subtotal on invoices, rather than as a regular line item.
Current LimitationAt present, any insurance recovery or surcharge must be entered as a standard line item. This:
Makes invoices look cluttered when the fee is not tied to specific products or services.
Can cause confusion for clients, who expect insurance/fees to be displayed separately (similar to how shipping or payment surcharges often appear).
Requires manual placement and formatting on each invoice, reducing efficiency and consistency.Proposed Solution:
Introduce…1 voteHi Joshua 👋It's really helpful for us to understand having the ability to add a surcharge or insurance line to invoices is a desirable option. We understand not having a dedicated field for surcharges or insurance can make it difficult to clearly communicate these extra costs to your customers. Currently manually adding a line item for the surcharge or using a custom branding theme to include the information are the only options💡Right now, we're not planning to add this as a specific feature, as our current focus is on some other features that will benefit a wider range of our customers, however we will monitor this for votes and comments from other users 📣

Dashboard - Remove the "Loading your transactions" message
Right now, the dashboard shows "Loading your transactions" for bank accounts far too often and for far too long. The dashboard should always show the current state of the user's accounts, not what is essentially an indeterminate progress bar. It would be more user-friendly to remove the message entirely because it doesn't give users any actionable information. If new transactions come in while the user is doing things, simply update the dashboard to indicate that there are new transactions to reconcile, even if the user just finished reconciling what was there before.

Tracking - Assign Tracking categories for expense users
It would be useful to be able to assign default tracking categories to users for expense submission so these don't need to be manually added to each individual claim.
1 voteHello everyone, we understand that being able to automatically assign tracking categories to users for their expense claims would be a huge benefit, saving you time and ensuring accurate reporting. 📈
We've heard your suggestions we're continuing to monitor the interest in this idea, but it's not on our current development roadmap. We'll be sure to update you here if anything changes in the future. 👋

Hubdoc - Tags Should be Visible in Xero
We tag documents for organisation in Hubdoc, but have no visibility of these in Xero, which makes no sense. These don't need to be editable, but it would make sense that it showed what tags were on an invoice. Even if this was detailed in the history of the invoice. This would be a massive time-saver!
2 votesThanks for your idea on making Hubdoc tags visible in Xero, Natascha. We can definitely see how having that visibility on an invoice would be a massive time-saver.
