  2. Hi, on the mobile app, it would be really helpful, if when reconciling bank entries, when xero comes uip with its "suggestion", that is also displays the VAT line. Saves having to go into the suggeestion edit and check VAT is applied correclty

Hi Danielle, when you say you'd like to post an application. Could quotes potentially be a fit for this purpose here? Otherwise could you share a bit more detail on what would be needed to record the application in Xero.

  6. For the Aged Receivables it would be helpful to know what customers owe us as well as what we owe them. We take deposits for future invoices and they don't show on the Aged REceivable Summary.

  7. Would love that within money out/in and repeating the transaction that 'quarterly option' was included.
    example: BAS, Super & PAYG

It would be great if this was an option for those using the short-term cash flow regularly.

  8. Historical MTD VAT reports can't be seen after subscription downgrade!

We have just realised that we have lost access to a client's MTD VAT reports after their Xero subscription was downgraded to ledger after de-registering for VAT and becoming dormant. We can see all their pre 2019 VAT reports under "Filed with HMRC" or "Published" but there is nowhere to view the subsequent MTD returns and the detail behind them. Not great when you are preparing a final set of accounts prior to dormancy.

These reports may well be needed in future in the case of a VAT inspection or…

  9. Right now, checks must be written by going to the top of the page, choosing "Spend Money," choosing the bank account, and then checking the "Pay By Check" box on the page. I regularly enter transactions right on the back account page through the "Spend Money" and "Receive Money" button. It would be great if the "Spend Money" area on the account page could just include the "Pay By Check" box so we could avoid the extra steps.

  10. Please could you add a 'Back to the top' button, especially on the reconcile and report pages, but every page would be useful.
After scrolling down many line items, it would be far quicker to have this function implemented for ease.

Thanks for sharing, Katie. We don't have any plans for adding this within Xero atm, however if working on a desktop you can use Home button on a Windows, or on a Mac you can press the Command key + Left arrow. This should help when navigating a long list such as reports like you mentioned.

  11. When COGS posts via tracked stock on a sales invoice, record the sales invoice number the COGS value relates to in the nominal ledger. There is already a field for this, but Xero does not populate it.

  12. I would like to be able to assign the 210 CIS labour account to a service for CIS labour. At the moment, I have a couple of services for CIS labour and some for non CIS labour.
For the Non CIS labour, I can creat a service called 'labour' and add the account code to it.
This can't be done with CIS labour at the moment as Xero won't allow it. This means that for each line item of CIS labour in an invoice I have to manually add the 210 CIS account.
This is unnecessarily timecomsuming and allows for…

  13. When exporting reports to Excel they are coming in with very narrow row heights. By Default Excel will create a row height 4 points larger than the font. Eg: default font is 11 points and row height is 15 points. If I increase the point size, the row height increases.

My exported reports have the general data at 9 points but the row height is at 11 points - and I'm constantly having to modify my spreadsheets.

It appears that Xero believes that a 2 point difference between font size and row height gives enough white space to make the…

  14. When an expense claim is created via Xerome a 'spend money' transaction is created instead of a bill which means that if there is more than 1 payment against this claim I cannot opt to split the transaction when reconciling the payments. There needs to either be an option to split or the expense should create a bill rather than a 'spend money' to enable easier reconcilliation

  17. As someone who is colour blind, I find the Budget Variance Arrows are similar / same colour which makes viewing budget variance at a glance a challenge.

It would be great to have an option to have lines highlighted a colour if above/below budget instead. Even better if this colour option was customisable.

When you say one click bank refresh, is there a specific place you'd be looking for this option, Martin? Currently there are some types of bank feeds that have an option to Refresh bank feed.

However how often a bank feed updates depends on your bank and each bank does things a little differently.

You can find the specifics for each bank feed here. It includes when they update, how often and if a manual refresh is available.

If you think your bank feeds might not be syncing correctly, you can check current or recent bank feed delays and issues on our status page - You can also access this from within Xero by clicking on the View status updates option from your bank feed menu.

  19. It would be really useful if there was an options to tag or colour code invoices in the list view, so that at a glance we could see invoices grouped together for any given reason.

For example most of my invoices are paid via direct debit, so I'd love a way to tag/colour code the invoices that have not yet signed up for the debit system, so that I can see at a glance how many I am still missing and who I need to follow up on.

  20. I am "one man band company" and use Mettle Bank in the UK. It offers the the facility to put money into "pots" so that I can save for things such as Corporation Tax, VAT payments etc. This is basically a bank account within a bank account and one which I find very useful. The downside is that there is no obvious means to keep track of what is in each pot within Xero and complicated by the fact Mettle does not stream the total in each pot via the connection only the total amount with the bank account itself.…

Hi Neil, perhaps worth engaging your accounting advisor on, however from the sounds you could create 'suspense' accounts in your chart of accounts to reconcile these amounts from your bank account too. Effectively when you make you create a transaction that is related to the amount that's been allocated to a pot you could then make a payment on the transaction to that 'pot' account in your organisation. This way you could run the Account Summary report to keep a constant track on the amounts you have unallocated in your pots.
