notes
Notes for Clients - XPM migrated from using the 'Folder' field to a new 'Tag' field within the client record’s Notes section, to unifying 'practice management tools'. What was the point of this? We could run a report of notes and filter with 'Folder'. But with the new 'tags' you can only filter by tags within a single client. This makes no sense and has removed significant functionality of the notes in XPM. Also, "existing folder-based notes will be automatically migrated" has not happened - existing notes have not been updated with tags.
As a product idea: if replacing the fundamental functionality of a feature that is already in the software, it should improve the overall functionality of the software, rather than reduce it.
Bring back the folders, or actually migrate the folders to tags and then allow reports to be creating for multiple clients using the tags.
Hi Colin 👋🏽
and thank you for submitting your idea regarding the client notes functionality in XPM. This is important feedback regarding the loss of reporting capabilities!
We've reviewed your submission against our community criteria and have classified this post as Feedback because it does not meet two of the qualities required for an idea to gain support:
- Vague Title: The title "notes" is not clear and does not summarize the specific improvement you are requesting (i.e., cross-client reporting).
- Product Issue Mentioned: The post mentions an issue with the migration ("existing notes have not been updated with tags"), which relates to functionality not working as designed, and does not fit the criteria of a new feature suggestion.
Next Step:
To ensure your request gains visibility and support from the community, please resubmit the core feature request with a clear, action-oriented title e.g. "XPM Notes - Restore Cross-Client Reporting/Filtering for Client Notes."
We look forward to seeing your revised idea!
