Thanks for your expressions and feedback in a bulk download or print facility for Files (either from the Files library or at an individual transaction level)
We know that bulk operations can be handy, however at this time we have no plans to develop this functionality. We know it might seem like a small feat, however often even small change is more tightly woven and intricate to solve beneath the surface.
While we understand this must be frustrating to hear, we’re currently focused on making improvements in other areas of Xero and are unable to prioritise a bulk download or print feature right now.
However, in situations like these there are often connected apps through the Xero App Store that may be able to assist. We appreciate and will revise solutions that could fulfil needs in this space, but want to be honest this isn’t something we have plans for…

We're glad to have contributed to the "accounting systems regulatory" discussion indeed triggered by our "certified fiduciary company" / "official Xero partner" (the reason why we took them). That Swiss advisory company greatly disappointed us by favoring the state against us hence the deeper look into the state of play in this software field which, as a matter of fact, "sucked". Since then, we have migrated to Gimbla with great satisfaction. If that fiduciary company ever dares to send a bill for a Xero subscription we have a counter-attack ready. It's good they get free travel & expenses paid out by Xero but their job is to focus on the PAYING customers. Schmuck The Bozos!

Migration to Gimbla completed yesterday. 2 days for downloading manually all evidences, 1 day for the migration itself (trial balances Xero / Gimbla, invoice / bills deletion, etc) - don't forget to remove API links - and a few hours to explain (well financially too) to the fiduciary company why they should rather defend their customers, good governance, best practices and possibly regulation by influencing their sponsor Xero instead of enjoying posh travel & expenses something like once a year. This world is definitely inverted but we're gonna change it ;-) Take care all; see you on other platforms.

It's now decided, we're leaving Xero for good moving to https://gimbla.com/ However, the migration will be painful and lengthy exactly because we have to download audit elements one by one; the price to pay for freedom.

Very valid request opened since 2013. It's a total shame; really disgraceful that Xero deliberately did not implement a mandatory features, at least from a legal, auditing and accounting standpoint. At this stage, we're bound to recommend GIMBLA, a FREE simple yet full-featured accounting software. Very bad commercial behaviour by Xero and its affiliates (certified accountants who did not push for it though getting their stipend from the mother ship...) https://gimbla.com/

The idea is not to fly away but adhere to mandatory requirements. Google provides full data export (well in a ****** .json format) so Xero shall abide. If the product is good and prices competitive, people / companies will stick around.

Could someone in New Zealand find a regulation that would enforce Xero to implement such feature? It's not a nice to have, companies must be able to bulk export data from critical systems.

As it is organisations' responsibility to archive / back accounting data, it must be possible to bulk export all attachments for expenses.
