Hi everyone, we value the detail you've shared about why you need to combine Sales, Quotes, Invoices and Purchase Orders access without also exposing banking or bills.
We’re currently building a dedicated Purchase Orders Only role with options to view, create, edit and approve purchase order that'll help for those that have asked to enable users to raise and manage purchase orders while keeping them separate from broader Purchases access and sensitive bill information.
We recognise this is one part of the wider role flexibility you’re asking for, and we’ll continue to consider how Sales, Quotes and Invoices can be separated in future.
I'l come back to share once the Purchase order permission is fully released.

Currently Xero User Roles are only applicable to small businesses. For bigger businesses with multiple departments and branches, however, the User Roles flexibility are limited which causes weak internal control. Example of additional User Roles needed for bigger companies:
*Purchase Order preparation Only, with view only access to bills - Purchase orders are usually done by specific department while Bills is for accounting, P.O. and Bills access level should be separated
*Purchase Order Approval Only with view only access to bills - Same reason as above
*Draft Bills Only with view access to Purchase Orders and ability to convert P.O. to bills - Same reason as above.
*Approved Invoices/Bills can only be edited by its Approver or those with Adviser User Role. If there are multiple approver, one should not be be given freedom to edit invoice approved by another person. Currently, anyone with sales/purchase role can edit any invoices/bills, even those approved by another person. This results to very weak internal control.Isis Ramos

Hi everyone, just wanting to highlight that as Caroline has suggested, it is likely the Account Transactions reports in Xero could be used to create the reports required. However, this depends on what information you require each report to contain.
If anyone is able to reply with more specific details on whether any information is unable to be obtained via the account transaction report this will help our product team better understand what's needed.

This is essential, especially for our country, this is required by the tax authority. I can imagine more company will be using Xero if they can use it to generate valid invoice
