Hi team, we're pleased to share that we have begun rolling out the ability to show nil(zero) balance accounts within the Profit & Loss (Income Statement), Statement of Cash Flows - Direct Method, Trial Balance, Cash Summary, Movements in Equity, Blank reports and Report Templates.
When available you'll find a new option from the 'More' menu in each of these reports, as well as a blanket setting within the Report preferences where you can select to 'Include accounts with zero balances or activity'.
As we slowly ramp up this release to all users, we thank you for your direct interest in this idea here and welcome your feedback.
While I'll be sharing any feedback from you with our product team, I'll also be back to confirm once complete and this feature is with live with you all.

This is so important and would make every user of Xero's life a bit easier. It seems like it would/should be easy to do.
It's incredibly frustrating that Xero have ignored this and similar threads for so many years. An error occurred while saving the comment Mike Beck commented
I don't understand why this basic functionality hasn't been added to Xero. I can't imagine it is that difficult a change to make and it would make every users life easier.
I agree with the last comment in so far as these comment/ideas/votes appear to be ignored. I suspect there are lots of ideas in the system saying the same thing and a lot more users who don't bother to comment or vote.I can only assume Xero don't really care so long as their sales are healthy. It is very frustrating.

This has been a problem with Xero for years and creates additional work for most users. It seems like it should be a relatively simple thing to change.
I'm not sure how to interpret Xero's lack of action. Either making this change is more difficult than it seems of they simply don't care so long as Xero usage continues to rise. They assume it isn't putting users off enough so isn't a priority.
There are only 91 votes here but I don't think there will be a single Xero user that this change wouldn't benefit. An error occurred while saving the comment Mike Beck commented
Why does Xero ignore this request? This has been an issue for a long time. It will clearly save users' a lot of time and I can't believe it is a complex thing to implement.
I can only assume so long as people continue to use the system they figure it doesn't really matter? An error occurred while saving the comment Mike Beck commented
It would be so useful to be able to run a Trial Balance that includes all accounts, including those with a zero balance.
I thought it used to be possible in Xero maybe I'm mistaken?
Most accounts systems give that option and it can't be hard to do.
Please.....

Hi community, first off thank you for contributing and detailing why posting manual journals in a foreign currency is of interest to you all.
We appreciate our customers would like to see more capability in accounting for and dealing in foreign currencies across Xero.
In it's current form Manual Journals are a part of Xero that require some upgrade to uplift technology in order to provide capability for ideas like this to be considered. We have intentions of bringing attention to this over the coming year, however getting this done first is necessary before we can even think about adding newer functionality like journaling in another currency to the mix.
To set the expectation here, there is no work planned over 2023 for this feature. We know it's of high interest and when we're in a place to reassess we will share with you here.

I agree with all the comments below. This should be basic functionality to enable users to extract a TB that is the same (with the same number of lines) every time and therefore reduce a lot of manipulation.
Xero's response of kicking this can further down the long road is quite insulting and disheartening.
