Thanks for sharing this idea. We understand the request to allow draft manual journals to be saved with $0.00 or blank amounts.
Being able to save the account codes and journal structure without entering placeholder figures could make it easier to reuse the journal as template.

Thanks for the added detail, everyone. It's good to be able to share this detail back with our teams.
Appreciate why Bank Rules won't help for cash accounts and where you don't have a bank feed coming into the account.
Being open, this isn't something we have plans for changing in the short-term. We'll leave the idea open for our product team to continue considering how we could improve efficiency in some of the situations you've described. If there are any updates we'll share this with you all here.

Yes - before allowing the import of my tax inclusive template data, Xero checks to ensure that the journals it contains are valid. When it is satisfied that they are, it changes them to tax exclusive, rendering them invalid, and proceeds with the import. How does that make any sense? Luke's suggestion above would work, or perhaps a tick box on the import screen allowing you to toggle between tax exclusive/inclusive.

This is such an obvious requirement that it is astonishing it was not included when the feature was developed. Far from seeking further support and votes from the community, Xero should simply consider the omission a mistake and correct it.
