Thanks for your comments and emphasis on the bills side of things for the idea here. I've made sure this is shared with our team in this space.
Bills is an area we're continuing to develop with building on beautiful and I'll be sure to let you know here if there's any consideration made to change behaviour of this through the bills add and edit flow.

Thanks for your support on the idea, everyone. We thoroughly appreciate your participation, and letting us know where you'd like to see change across Xero.
Customer statements, is an area of Xero that needs upgrades to it's technology in order to make ideas like this one here possible.
Currently, while we have plans for modernising this space soon we cannot commit to any new developments for Statements until this work has been complete. Once this has been done I'll round back to the idea here when we can reset the objectives.

An error occurred while saving the comment Katie Manns commentedNeed the ability to set a standard markup or margin for a product. It would be really helpful to be able to set a margin between the cost price and the sales price of a product. When I add in supplier bills, I often discover that some inventory items have increased in cost. It would be ideal if I could update the price of the inventory item from within the New Bill process. So far I have to note down the changes then edit each inventory item separately from inside the Business menu. When New Bills feature an item that has a cost change. It would be incredibly helpful if any manipulation to the set cost price on an item at the New Bill stage would prompt a pop up that says, "Set this as the new default cost for SKU "X" and update the sales price using the standard markup.

Thank you to everyone that contributed to the teams research in this space. We wanted to share that discovery for bulk updating stock quantities has been greatly insightful and we're pleased to share that we are moving forward to develop a solution.
We'll shift the idea to working on it as development begins, and as this moves along we'll return when there is more opportunity for you to get involved.

Hi Kelly, it is more critical to be able to edit the inventory items from the Bills so that when we enter a Bill from our supplier if the cost of the inventory item has increased (as has been happening due to inflation) then we can quickly and easily update the sales price in the inventory so that we can maintain the correct margin on our products. Can you please extend the edit function from invoicing into bills as well.
