Sorry to hear you're not liking the refresh of the Files inbox, Felicity. The intention is to make managing and working with your files simpler and more efficient.

Just to confirm, when you say this has added extra clicks for you - would that be the need to go to the Archived tab to access a fioder you've moved a file to?

Agree, its really poor. Not sure how having to put items in a folder and then moving them is more efficient than just putting them where you wanted in the first place.

Also, if you put the document on a wrong sales inv, but still want the document you don't have the option to remove and save to files, you just delete it. It may be in the archive somewhere but thats a lot to go through.

We used to create our sales invoices by sending the pdf and excel backing to the files, then select these to add to add to a sales invoice which we can no longer do as you are required to add a contact name, and it then still takes a while to add the info thats needed. We have to change our processes which now takes longer, but apparently all these updates make things simpler and easier.

Thank you for all sharing and adding your vote for the idea, here. We know our customers find great use in Xero Files and developing the ability to create sub folders in Xero Files is something the team are planning to take a deeper dive into in the coming months. For now, we'll move the idea to Under review and I'll come back with more news when this picks up. 😊

Its so frustrating, the drag and drop box also reduces in size after you have put in your first document.

It really feels like this is a step backward, you then have to do further clicks to put items in a file, when before you could see everything listed on the one screen.

They have also screwed adding files to sales invoices which is hugely frustrating for us as we have a large number of self billing invoices with excel backing data which we cant add through Dext, and Xeros support idea to "streamline" the process takes us longer than what it did before - why do i have to save an invoice before i had a document, its yet another unneeded step!

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback on this idea, community. We appreciate that having to manually select attachments on every invoice can feel a little fiddly. We get that you want a smoother workflow, that saves you time.

As noted by others in the idea, one option for now would be to add standard files, like your terms and conditions, directly to your invoice template. That way, they'll be included automatically when you send out your invoices.

To confirm how this functionality currently works - this is based on the user and driven by the last invoice that was sent. Where you have files attached, and you had selected to include files as an attachment when emailing the invoice, the next invoice you send with file attachments should have this selected by default.

A caveat to this is when you are working in incognito mode, or refresh your browser…

Not a new idea, more returning of a feature that we can no longer use.

We want to email our self billing sales invoices to Xero files, then go into Xero files, select those invoices and add to a sales invoice and its they are there without having to add contact, or saving the invoice and then reopening to add them

It would be good to be able to bulk add/delete users in the Organisation settings. We have invited multiple external user as part of our audit (which took a while), who i now have to remove, but I have to do each employee, in each company individually- thats apprx 10 employees across 50 companies so very time consuming.

Would be much easier if there was a tick box to select so we can delete in bulk

Also, we use ApprovalMax for approvals, and when adding a new user you can just add in all the email addresses in one go and all the invites are sent - its much easier to add users when dealing with a large group!
