Thank you for your on-going input and attention to the idea here, everyone.
We will keep you updated on change for being able to add new tracking options when using new invoicing here, however if there are other items that you'd like to see developed please do make sure you've joined and are following updates for these too.
I can confirm our team have work underway to improve the line item grid where you enter detail of your invoice. Part of this work includes the ability to add new tracking options without navigating away from the invoice.
For now we'll move this idea to working on it and I'll be back to share when there's more news of this going live for you all.

Hi everyone, appreciate there are more regions users would like to see us adopt solutions for and we'll keep you in the know of any progress, here.
In the UK, we have some updates with the bill payments method with Crezco. You now have more control of your cashflows with the ability to schedule bills to be paid at a future date using direct bank transfer. This'll help avoid potential bank charges for same day transactions, and missing due dates. Along with this you'll also be able to stay up to date with your payments with real-time payment status in Xero. Meaning you don't have to log into your bank to check the status of each bill payment. With an overview of all payments made using direct bank transfer, you have an accurate record of which suppliers have been paid, and when.

How many comments and votes does it take to get an idea to the development stage and implemented?
Adding tracking categories to item set-up for item inventory would save us SO much time and manual input. I find it really hard to believe that its not already there and that this hasn't yet been sorted.
Alternatively, having Xero 'guess' tracking categories for invoices in the same way it currently 'guesses' account codes based on frequent use would be a big step forward from current situation. We need to add two tracking category options to every line on each invoice so this adds up to a lot of time as some invoices have as many as 20 lines.Alison Jeffrey Thom

Adding to this request - we'd like the ability to add tracking categories as defaults for items selected from item inventory / Products & Services.
This would really speed up the amount of manual input required to select options on 2 tracking categories for each invoice line; often with 20 lines per invoice.
