We understand that managing duplicate contacts can take extra time, and we appreciate everyone who has shared feedback on this. For now, the best workaround is to manually edit and consolidate the details of duplicate contacts before deleting them, as some of you have already pointed out. While this idea isn't currently planned for development, we’re continuing to capture and review feedback as we consider future improvements to Xero Practice Manager. We’ll share any updates here if that changes.

Thanks for starting the idea here, Renee.

Just to clarify, when you say ‘duplicate a contact’ would this be; the ability to duplicate an entire client (including all its contacts), to duplicate a contact within an existing client, or duplicate a contact from one client to another?

If the last, we have a similar idea over here that I can join you in with. 🙂

This is essential to not only save time, but to save typographical errors!

Maintenance of information in XPM is currently very time consuming. Any improvement in bulk updating of information would be appreciated. Even to be given the option of 'group' update as is already the case with address changes.

Hi everyone, we thoroughly appreciate your engagements with us here, and helping us understand future improvements that could enhance your use of Xero for managing your practice.

As you'll have likely seen we are in the process of releasing new client and staff experiences to unify our practice tools under what will soon become Xero Partner Hub.

With the current work in progress we want to be open that bulk updates like what's being asked here aren't in the roadmap atm, however this will be something we consider as we keep revising our roadmaps. If there are any updates we will share on this idea.

We appreciate your feedback on the idea of a bulk client reassign feature in Xero Practice Manager. At this stage, this feature isn’t planned for development. We understand the manual effort this can create, and we’ll continue to share this feedback with our product team for future consideration. In the meantime, the current workaround is to use the export/import function. We’ll keep you updated if anything changes in the future.

This function is essential for data management and time saving. I'm surprised that the process isn't already established.

It is highly unprofessional to have cover letters addressed to "Dear [Trustee Company]" and not "Dear [individual]".

In this day and age of high security concerns, clients are highly critical of anything that doesn't look legitimate.
