Hi team, we appreciate this idea is gathering interest and we're continuing to keep a close watch on the support this receives.
While we don't have immediate plans for enabling an option to search by description directly from the Sales search, we'd like to highlight another option that you may find handy - You can use JAX to query and return results about your invoices.

We would like to be able to search descriptions or item number. If we quote a customer for a particular part or send a PO for a part we would like to be able to find that quote / PO when we don't always have the other info necessary in the search field.

Items - under Latest Transactions, include quotes, draft invoices and purchase orders.

Ideally we should be able to search all sales line item / purchase line item transaction descriptions (invoices, sales orders, purchase orders and bills). This is available in Quickbooks and other packages and should be standard.
