Hi team, in the aim of transparency we have split this idea out from the original one here so we can get a better understanding of the interest for this change in each area of Xero.
Being quite different features within Xero it's not likely that a change in one would be reflected in the other area at the same time. We will continue to track interest in removing quotes from the all list here and share if there are any updates.

Hi team, thank you for engaging with us about this idea here.
Being upfront we don't have any plans for making the account code and tax rate mandatory on quotes at this time.
That said, we're exploring how payments may occur at earlier points in the sales cycle, such as from a quote. Our team will consider the idea here closely as part of this.
If there is any updates to share on this I'll come back to update you here.

Why can't they just add another another field as estimate as well.as quote.

Agreed, I tried changing the "quote" text to estimate but the email states it's quote. 🤦

How the heck is this not included into the quote platform!
This is a very important issue to resolve!
No wonder business are using other platforms for quoting and also they have options of estimates.
