Quotes: Generate as legal 'Estimate' instead of quote
I believe being able to update all fields to show the word Estimate rather than Quote would be extremely beneficial. I have been able to update all except for the wording of Online Quote Link

As a builder, being able to send estimates is essential. A lot of the work we do you can’t be tied down to a quote. I usually can only give a client a draft quote as the only way to get wiggle room. I used to use quickbooks and they have estimates, which is the only thing that’s better than xero

We need our Estimates to be sent as Estimates, not Quotes please. We need the option to be able to change the wording on the 'View your estimate online' link from 'Download Quote' to 'Download Estimate', as we do not supply our customers with Quotes, only Estimates. It could raise some legal issues for us not being able to change this wording.

That would be the best idea, as a builder, the word estimate would be very useful.
On extensions and new builds, there’s a lot you cannot foresee and the word quote ties you in to losses -

Why can't they just add another another field as estimate as well.as quote.

Agreed, I tried changing the "quote" text to estimate but the email states it's quote. 🤦

Agreed. For small businesses/trades we never quote. Every job is estimated. I think if Xero would find that the quoting system would get used a lot more if it was actually an estimating system.
I avoid using the quoting system because its too much hard work to create quote, download pdf, rename PDF to say estimate, email to client, then manually change to accepted.
Surely its not too much extra coding to just change the customers links to "accept estimate" etc instead of "accept quote"? -

To make this a legal Estimate rather than a Quote, all fields need to say Estimate, not quote.
