Hey everyone! Thanks for your ongoing feedback on this. We appreciate you taking the time to highlight how important it is to get superannuation calculations exactly right, especially with the specific rules around employees under 18.
Our product team has reviewed this idea and agrees this needs to be addressed. The current workaround of manually adjusting each pay run isn't the seamless experience we want to provide, especially for businesses with multiple under-18 employees.
As a result, we're moving this idea to 'Accepted'. While we can't give a specific timeframe for a solution right now, this status means it's on our radar and something we'd like to develop in the future.

Hi everyone, we just wanted to provide a quick update on this one as the upcoming payday super changes will be top of everyone's minds.
The current approval step is important for both cash flow management and security and the community has also suggested a few different ideas on how to approach this:
- Setting up multiple auto super authorisers - currently in discovery
- Super Payment Authorisation via Xero Verify - currently gaining support
If either of these ideas reflects what’d work best for you, please add your vote, to help us get a clearer understanding what matters most to our community.
When we’re through the thick of EOY and initial payday super is rolled out, our product team will circle back around to these ideas to review.

Hey everyone, as you're aware the ATO are implementing Payday superannuation amendments in July 2026. This will significantly change the way Automatic Superannuation in Xero works. Whilst we don't have any specifics on how this will look in Xero payroll, our product team are working hard to make the necessary changes to keep our customers compliant in a user friendly way. We've moved the current status to In Development. We'll be reaching out closer to July to let payroll customers know how PayDay super will work in Xero.

Hi everyone, a quick update on multi-authorisation for Payday Super.
We recognise that multi-authorisation is a priority for many of you, particularly as Payday Super approaches and businesses review how they manage super payments in Xero.
Our Product team is actively working on an enhanced workflow for this, which is on track for release next quarter.
We’ll share more updates as soon as we have more to confirm.

Hi there. With Payday Super changes coming soon, we know many of you will be thinking about how the new super payment timing will work for your business. It’s something we’re keeping a close eye on too.
While this particular idea isn’t currently on our product team’s roadmap, it’s on our radar and we’re actively monitoring the feedback here.
There are also a couple of related ideas focused on super payment timing that are already in development:
AU Payroll: Superannuation > standardised payment date aligned with PayDay Super - In Development
AU Payroll - Payday super reminders - In Development

Appreciate you raising the idea with us here, Jennifer and the quick support it's starting to receive.
We'd like to confirm that this is something our product team are working on as part of their development for Payday super in Xero. We will provide prompts to both;
- help payroll admins set up pay items to correctly calculate super, and
- highlight to payroll admins to pay superannuation when it's outstanding
However, BPay will not be a supported method of payment. We'll come back to share when the prompts we've noted above are released. Thanks

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your thoughts on having a payroll report that calculates payroll state tax. We understand some of you are required to calculate tax across multiple states.
While we don't currently have a report which calculates earnings based on state, some of you have mentioned workarounds such as using the Payroll Activity Summary report. This report includes earnings totals and can be filtered by a date range and employee groups.
We recognise the value a report of this nature could have for our customers and it’s been added to the wider pool of ideas for our product team to consider for future development.
While it’s not on our immediate roadmap, we’ll be sure to keep you looped in if there’s any progress.

Any news on this? It's really critical that Employers can easily extract accurate Payroll (Gross, Allowances, Super etc) figures by Australian State (based on an employee's address) by searchable dates (for Payroll tax and Workcover as reporting requirments are not always by financial years).

Urgently need a report for Australian Payroll Tax reporting that can be geberated/downloaded as a pdf, csv and/or excel spreadsheet, searchable by Australian State VIC, NSW, ACT, Qld, NT, TAS, WA (as appears on the Employees file, personal address), list with Employee name, Payroll paid date (start and finish/ALL RANGES of dates not just financial years) with columns split by Name of Employee, State, Type of Employment (ie. Part time, full time or casual), Gross Wages, Allowances, Super and amounts paid/totals etc.

Agree, Xero needs to have a Payroll report for Portable LSL, Workcover and Payroll tax clients. which includes - Full name of employee, type of employment (FT, PT, apprentice or casual) Aust State they live in, Pay run 'Group' and 'Tracking' codes, capable of being selected in any date range (not just annually), Gross wages, tax, super, allowances and show 'quantity of employees' somewhere for those that have a lot of employees (100+).

Can we have a search/sort ability for the Super funds by A-Z in Super settings so we can find them by Super fund name and or USI etc. And is it possible for Xero to flag or archive super funds that are no longer active (or have changed) automatically?
